Just on the other side of normal there lies a world not very much different from your own. There are majestic wonders that defeat the most vivid of imaginations, and unspeakable horrors from the cold fury of nature and the hot-boiled rage of mankind. Continents which are filled with territories claimed and lands disputed. Oceans that are part glorious blue and part poisonous black. Rivers, seas, peninsulas, and islands scattered seemingly randomly throughout the planet's surface.

One such island is named Quantom, and it lies at the very south eastern edge of civilization. Due to weather and distance it is nearly impossible to travel to or from Quantom, at least without the proper resources. Most consider the island a legend, a made up land to frighten children and those of equal naivete.

For those who do know the true nature of Quantom, there is but one thing to know. War. Fighting that's origin is buried under bullets and mangled bodies. Two sides, the Establishment and the Rebels, who hate each other more than they love their kinship. There are no victories or defeats, just cycles of revenge. While there have been various attempts to foster a sustained peace over the years, none of them progressed beyond opening statements.

Recently, there have some new developments in the situation. One year ago, a terrorist strike of the capital building killed the Prime Minister, his family, and a large portion of parliament. In the power vacuum a new man rose to power for the Establishment. Kenith, a relative unknown, came to fame after marrying the country's most famous super-model, Victoria. He ran a campaign almost entirely based on revenge against the Rebels, He vowed to eliminate them once and for all by any means necessary. His victory over three more moderate opponents was the largest known on record.

The Rebels have some new leadership as well. A man known only as TLV took credit for the fatal bombing. He was able to consolidate leadership of various rebel factions under him. Little is known about him beyond his unquestioned desire to destroy the Establishment.



If you have signed up for this game, please confirm you are still playing in this thread. If you were a maybe or didn't sign up yet, you may still join. Please do, as I still need another 10 or so players to make this game runnable. Day 1 will start early next week, so that July 4th doesn't play too much havoc.

Since you're asking, I think I prefer a vanilla town role, my record is a bit better on that side.

Not sure I'm up for the wiki wager, though I might be convinced ;).

Mmk. I was on the fence about signing up for this game because I wasn't sure how my participation level would be. But after reading your post on Giraffe, it intrigues me to play. Mostly because my favorite game so far has been the Gastard game, and it was so fun because I was trying to figure out what the hell the mods were up to and trying to solve the puzzles as well as play mafia.

So count me in. I'll probably solve everything wrong, but whatever. :)
