Day 4

Post by ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies on Aug 7, 2009 12:40:30 GMT -5
When does Day end? It isn't mentioned in the Dawn post and there is no handy banner this time.
7/8 total votes on me seems reasonable, and the timing to shift to actual lynch candidates would be either once we've reached 7/8, no later than 2 days before Dusk, or just an individual decision we each make as to our comfort level.
It is just placeholder votes to prime the pump and all accusations and suspicions can proceed as usual. Everyone is still expected to clearly state and justify their decisions as often and early as possible and to have their vote where they want it, with an explanation, by Dusk.

The speculation is on the interpretation of "no longer a threat" -- in most games I've played the win conditions have been pretty explicitly "when scum are dead" etc.
Question to the mods - are the statements "when the Rebels are no longer a threat" and "when the Rebels are dead" equivalent?

I figured the Day would end the same as the rest. Tuesday at 4pm EST. Maybe I was wrong in assuming that? Shrug.
When does Day 4 end?

Cookies, while I think that what you want to do with the tie-breaker is legitimate, I think that we're already seeing some seriously lazy Town play. If we have you set up as the tiebreaker, I'm afraid people will then slack off even more and handwave things like voting to tie (and of course scum would be able to hide in that, too).
I'm feeling at a loss this Day. I don't feel any better about spintari than I did yesterDay, but I feel worse about my scumdar since I thought Stan was an innocent being railroaded.

Yeah our collective track record sucks, but it isn't too late to turn over a new leaf. There's still some time to see if people come around.

Hmmm.
The last two Days both ended on a Tuesday at 4pm EDT. Unless Hawkmod says otherwise, it is fair to assume that Today will end at 4pm EDT next Tuesday.
I will request Hawkmod confirm this, or give you the correct date and time, as soon as I can.

To create a tie breaker
Vote: Cookies
My intention is to vote for Captain Pinkies, however.
He appears once per Day, and on this Day, contributes nothing to the discussion, and on Day 3, cast a one off vote on me. He has contributed next to nothing to our discussions of the events of this game. If he didn't want to play, he shouldn't have signed up. I feel this may be more of a tactic than a playstyle issue

Y'all need to slow down. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the sheer volume of information and analysis. I'm here, I'm just stuck. Yesterday has caused me to go back and re-evaluate everything I thought I knew. I thought we had dodged the terrorist threat, caught a potential scum and the Night would reveal which of the three (Ed, HM or Archangel) had lied about their role. Now I just feel like a fucking idiot and I apologize for whatever part I had in it. (Hey, at least we don't have to worry about the Merc anymore, right? ) I'm starting to wonder if the rebels are just laying back letting us lead each other around by the nose, one or two popping up once in a while to nudge us in the direction they want us to go. For tiebreaker: Vote: Cookies I think that's four. With the lack of participation, do you still want to go as high as 7 or 8? That's half the players left, not half the players actually playing. (and yeah, I know this is my first post of the Day, but when I have a thought, incoherent and wrong though it may be, at least I share it)

Post by pumpjack on Aug 9, 2009 0:48:11 GMT -5
I finally made it here. Just a little in shock about being played. First of all, I assume that we still have a/some unclaimed power role(s) to protect so I'll Vote: Cookies I'll unvote later. I'm not sure whether people came in late, saw the close vote and didn't vote for Archangel because they were afraid of creating a tie, or if they were waiting around to see if they had to vote for Stan. Our "insta-lynch the tie creator" may have backfired and given scum more excuses. Then again, maybe they didn't think Archangel or Stan appeared very scummy. Don't really know. What I do know is that the Spintari's only vote and only contribution to this game helped lynch the bomber. Pollux Oil has only voted once and didn't post at all yesterDay. And Captain Pinkies' single post yesterDay was a last minute vote which would do little more than put him on record as voting. Of those, I think Spintari looks the scummiest. Also, I'm not sure our "who blocked whom" story has done much to bolster my trust. Look at the Day's intro... Hmmm... only one kill... Hmmm... Archngel says she blocks HM and now our intrepid watcher/tracker/spy says he saw it after the practice run the Day before. Except for the code, I could have written it yesterDay. (Sorry, still bitter about the bomb.) It's not that I believe we have a three person conspiracy. All three could be truthful townies. All it showed is that Archangel is most likely being honest about her role, because if either HM or Special Ed is telling the truth, then Archangel is. <snip> I'm a Town Watcher. Last night, mostly randomly, I chose to watch Bufftabby. I saw her go to the bank and make a transfer, and then I watched as she got hot in the back of the neck. <snip> <snip> Yes, there was a quote to start my PM and I am a Spy. <snip> Yes, I suppose I'm more of a tracker. Hawkeye called it a watcher. <snip> Ed, did you recieve a title? Hockey Monkey claimed to be Minister of War and Archangel claimed to be town jailer. Though I realize your claim has been steady in the actions you perform, your claim hasn't been quite so definate in name. I'd also like to know from both Archangel and Special Ed what their win conditions are.

I went back and read yesterDay and am still really baffled by texcat's insistence on lynching Stan. Not because it was the wrong choice. We all make wrong choices in this game. But it was such a determined push.
Captain Pinkies, who is scummy and why? Name names. The same people keep saying the same things and there is a group that ain't talkin', which deprives us of your wisdom and insights.

I voted for you because you failed to send your pm to the correct person. And it seemed like a stall technique to get through the day/night. For what it is worth, I still do not trust your claim. You really didn't provide anything to backup you claim, in my op[inion you should have posted archangel / hockey information first. Instead you waited for them to post the info and then said yeah that was my result... so FOS at you! I'm going to go back and see whay type of case I can put together....

No one's asking me this, but "Jailer" is my understanding of what my role is. "Minister of Corrections" is my title.
I was suspicious of Ed before but his backwards code saying he investigated me and saw I jailed HockeyMonkey...that's vintage town Ed.
And HockeyMonkey, I'm sorry, I am sure you're frustrated, I would be if you were too...I just didn't think we could afford to chance losing one more town last night after the bloodshed yesterDay.

Same reason as my vote yesterDay. I feel your gameplay has been very anti-Town this game. Not voting, etc in the first couple days and overall lurking and what I perceive to be skimming of the threads.
