Okay, I've done a reread since the beginning of Day One (and hell on earth it was) and this is the stuff--mostly suspicious-looking stuff--that jumped out at me the most. I can guarantee that there's probably more stuff that I missed, because my brain exploded.
Captain Klutz
-Day 1 reply 77, wants to just choose someone for Gov, fine with a random Gov, doesn’t vote in that post, or at all
-Day 1 reply 204/206, FOS on zeriel for “the townies” and Pleo for “us colonists”. Because “the townies” is “that other group” and “us colonists” is “too forced”. (I (well, Kat v1) mentioned this in Day 1 reply #349 and I am still bothered by it)
-Day 1 reply 247,
“There is reference to a "New Canaan hacker". This could refer to a scum investigator, ie, an investigator who is on the scum's side but can only communicate out in the open.”
I’m assuming right now that Kat v1 as the Neuromancer is probably the “New Canaan hacker” – I can see bringing up the possibility of a scum investigator, but why would it be one who is on the scum’s side but who can’t communicate with other scum? Why not just a regular scum with detective powers?
-Day 2 reply#171
“I have done a reread but I don't feel that I've gained any new insights, as too many players are not currently participating. I'm a bit in this category too, only posting once per (real life) day. So, while I can't really complain about low posting levels, every one needsmore activity, since this will help out exposing lurking scum especially.”
He’s reread the whole game (or even just the whole Day) and didn’t see anything that he hadn’t noticed before, or now sees in a new light?
-His pushing for kassia being a Pleo breadcrumb, and voting her for that and for knowing how night mechanics work (in Day 4 replies #19, #68, #70, #108) See also my Day 4 reply #13 post and the mod response in reply#80, as well as CIAS v2’s reply#18 (and some others between him and Klutz) and my reply#148
CatinaSuit v. 2.0 (Hal Briston)
-Day 1 reply 101, appears to be the first to call NAF’s plan scummy, instead of just bad (called out for this by Cookies in reply 110)
Death by Irony
-Day 3 reply#15
Testing Pleo’s claim if cop reveals scum (why not just lynch the scum?)
diggitcamara
-FOSed Pleonast for gov autolynch idea Day 1 reply 24 (I think this is the first FOS for Pleo's idea)
drainbead
(both of these addressed to NAF)
-Day 1 reply 445
"What is it about your role that made you WANT to draw suspicion? I've seen you hint at that a couple of times now, and it doesn't make any sense to me at all. You're saying that you put forward this idea just so you would draw suspicion? I'm not getting why you felt you had to...unless you're some sort of Godfather role who wanted to draw an investigation."
-And reply 448
"So you, as a pro-town power role, wanted to survive the first night by making the town think you're scum? Isn't that a bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face?"
I could see the purpose to it right away, NAF was trying to stir enough suspicion to reduce the chances of a nightkill by scum, because they'd be hoping to be able to push through a lynch.
Roosh
-EoS Pleonast for gov autolynch idea Day 1 reply 63
-NAF proposed modification of his “vote for low posters” suggestion in reply 65 of Night 1 that was:
"If everyone agrees to keep fluff posting to an absolute minimum during the Days (Night is different) and in the first two Days we vote out the player will the fewest posts, the people with lots of padded fluffy posts are significantly more likely to be scum."
(roughly: vote for low posters and fluffy posters)
Roosh mischaracterizes as “vote for low posters and high posters” in reply 63 of Day 1
-Proposed & supported “vote low posters into Gov office” in replies 63, 64 & 68 of Day 1, Pleo does so in reply 97, NAF does so in reply 109, neither specified if it was in response to Roosh’s suggestion, but both took flak on it from Rugger (replies 107 & 112) and Pleo was also called on it by mhaye (replies#285 & 337). Roosh did not get any direct response, nor did he point out later (after Pleo & NAF were criticized for using his (or their own similar) Gov-vote strategy) that he was the originator of the idea, even though he scrutinized/summarized the rest of Pleo’s Gov-related discussion (especially in reply #201)
-Appears to be the first one to theorize more than just Town/Scum, in reply 66 of Day 1
-Day 1 reply 315 (and probably others, but I’m not going back again today): reiterates that his vote for Pleo is due to Pleo defending his bad plan, yet Pleo had long before publicly switched to support atarus’ modified plan, which Roosh had said was not bad
Right now, Captain Klutz and Roosh lead my suspicion list, then drainbead, then those other people listed above.
Interesting Governor Discussion posts (I separated these out from the person-by-person list for some reason, but I don't remember why; that happened hours ago!):
Day 1 reply 21: drainbead
I think a bit more discussion of the Governor's role in this game, as well as how we should go about selecting one, is in order. Honestly, I think on Day One when we have no info, it might be best to discuss the mechanics of the position for as long as possible, and then randomize the pick at the end of the time period.
Day 1 reply 47: Parzival
I think we ought to have as little discussion of the Governor and his/her decisions as possible. Consider that even the most knowledgeable town role (a cop) as Governor still only has a small chance know which way to throw the switch, and a regular townie there has no better guess than anyone else. But the scum will strongly desire to have a Governor who is scum, because they'll be able to manipulate the lynch.
Day 1 reply 49: kassia
I agree with Parzival that we spend as little time and energy on the Governor as possible - at least until we figure out whether or not there are real advantages for townies in regards to the role and how we can best use it.
