I put this down to my inability to concentrate, but... For the record I am also having issues with Buff's claim. Not that I don't believe she is a townie of some flavor, probably even a mason, but she has a magic bag (sort of) and frankly, havining just finished a game where I was a "magic bag*" mason (very decidedly playing for a solo win) I don't like it. Can you point out what makes you think Bufftabby has a Magic Bag? Grazie.

Can you point out what makes you think Bufftabby has a Magic Bag? Grazie. Sure, it was how she claimed. It isn't the traditional magic bag, but it is close enough in my mind to qualify, and reminded me a lot of the early mason claims in Batman. She claimed she was a mason, but more than a mason, and if anyone was going to confirm her as a mason she would stop being so special. I will go find the claim post if you like. Now I am not saying that she isnt' a mason. If she wasn't I would expect her to have been counterclaimed (unless there are no masons, which is something we shouldn't entierly rule out, but we don't need to worry about right now.) But the way she claimed makes me..I was going to say nervous but that isn't really right...it makes me think that she might not be on our side 100% if that makes sense. It's a metagamey argument, I know, and is biased heavily because I just played a game where I was given the option of winning by myself and I went for it and I know Hal had done the same thing when he was a mason. It isn't worth a vote, not even close, but I brought it up in response to hawk seeming* to put her on the "safe" list and I was trying to explain why buff may not be as safe as she seems at first blush. It's all just grist for the mill at this point. * note I said seeming. You don't need to come in and redefend your list hawk.

OK, fine, NAF1138. I will "contribute" what I think. I want to warn everyone, what you are about to hear is baseless and is just pure speculation.
I honestly believe that the ones trying the "hardest" to investigate are the ones most likely to be scum. Think of Joseph McCarthey, and the communist witch hunts, or modern day Neo-Conservatives, who say one thing but do the opposite. These people feel the need to hide their own misdeeds and thus, will come out very strong against something. They are the most dangerous sort, these "zealots," as I like to label them.
Thus, I think we should be looking at people who are channeling McCarthey's spirit, and for those who are gungho about this investigation.

ETA: The problem, therein, lies in figuring out who the "zealots" are and who are the genuine investigators.
I would have added that in, but our own zealot host would lynch me for it, like the civil-disobedient rebel I am.

At the moment I'm oing a BlaM - rereading and making points as I go. There's something upthread I want to ruminate on for a while longer before commenting, but something here sort of sprang up at me. Then you'd have to be thinking that as a scum player, I've completely changed my views on how to play the role since Batman, because all I did there when under pressure was deflect and hide until I got caught. I was extremely passive, intimidated even. So yes, it's entirely possible that I've become an aggressive scum player in that time. Or I could just be a townie, boldened by the freedom granted by shared win conditions . Or, and this is quite likely, you've absorbed the lessons from your first game, in which (iirc) you yourself admit you handled the pressure badly, and are adjusting your playstyle to avoid those mistakes again? Yes, you could quite easily be a Survivor in this game, but you could also be a scum who has resolved to change their style. While I'm typing, I'd like to point out that we're currently heading for a lynch of Stardragonman (he has five votes from On High, remember). I'm not sure how much longer we have here, but remember that if you want to get someone lynched you have to persuade at least four other players to vote along with you or SDM is toast.

Roosh, I am not posting my thoughts because: 1. I feel I have nothing of substance to offer. Sure, I can post a whole page worth of random musings and BS, so I could look intellectual and give the impression that I'm not a scum and really care, or I could a small tidbit here and there which can contain something interesting. But the former is better. Honestly. If absolutely nothing else, it gives us the ability to assess you and how you think. Two things: 1. You really don't know Roosh, if you think that post was long, or that a long post from him is trying to disguise anything. As Scum, as Town, as Power Role, as fricking spectator, the man talks. It's not indicative of his alignment. 2. This is out-of-game, but you keep making disparaging references to the mod decision to punish you for post editing. For the record, I think that's crappy. You broke a rule, and now you're comparing the moderators to Nazis for enforcing that rule. I say this in the spirit of kindness and unity: quit yer bitchin. You could easily have been modkilled. -------- Otherwise, I have to spend a bit of time typing out my own geyser in the other game - why did I do this, someone remind me, why? - before returning here for my next fountain in this one. Bear with me, folks.

Thanks for the reminder that we are currently heading towards a SDM lynch MHaye.
I have a helling day at work for the next three hours or so, but then I should have some serious free time. And I think I will be able to make both a decent post and a vote at that time.

Soley, no. I wasn't voting or FOSing either. Maybe you weren't officially FoSing, but I don't know how else to take a post where you list three people and say that you'll be voting for one of them. That sounds like you're casting some suspicion, whether you add the FoS tag or not. At this point, it looks like you pretty much don't intend to answer my question about what your motivation was for choosing me, FCoD, and hockeyguy as your pool to vote from. You seem to have side-stepped the question quite nicely. You seem to not be understanding (purposely?) that I did answer your question. You three were the scummiest players in my mind at that time. I have to wonder at this point if your name had not been mentioned, would you be doggedly pursuing this. Right now, it seems like OMGUS, you put my name on a list! I wasn't the only one suspicious of you, (there were votes for you at the time!), but I am the only one catching flak. I didn't ever even vote for you, and I explained why. So yeah, color me If you don't like my playstyle, there's not much I can do about that. When I have evidence, I present it, but when I have a nagging gut feeling, I go with that.

I found it on my own - post D1.340. I know what you mean. Bufftabby is close to the bottom of my list of people to vote for Today. Either she really is a Mason, or they don't exist, or they're all fast asleep. The others that I probably won't vote for unless something really damning comes up are Kat! and Darth Sensitive. That (along with excluding myself) cuts the possible field to only 18. Wheee.

Buffy that reminds me: What's the name of your Mason Group? It is very descriptive of my special ability, so I'd really prefer not to say. It would be best that the scum don't know any other mason, nor what our abilities are, because it would really reduce our effectiveness. I will freely admit that I saw your question, and purposely didn't answer at the time. It broke my heart a little bit, I assure you, but I won't be answering that right now.

I take zero issue with your playstyle. I take issue with you presenting a group of players that you'll be voting for, and failing to prevent any evidence. Gut feeling is fine, but when I asked you if you were going solely on your gut, you said no. So where is it that you've answered my question about your reason for voting? It's also interesting to note that you're indicating that I'm engaging in some sort of OMGUS, when all I'm doing is asking you your reasoning behind your previous potential votes. I find that to be a fairly reasonable request, stated in a fairly reasonable manner. If that's OMGUS, then color me guilty. I still want to know your reasoning, as the only answer I can find is that you often go with your gut, but that this was not solely based on that. This questioning is not at all based on your suspicion of me in and of itself, but your lack of a stated reason.

Day ends tomorrow right? Blam and Tragic haven't posted at all. Blam is active in the Cecilvania game. Did he forget about this one? Czech and Rebel have barely checked in with one post each, with no content. Darth Sensitive and ryjae also one post. What the hell is going on people?
The one post that Darth Sensitive made said that Hal's death seemed to confirm Hal as town. Yes, yes it did. He died and was revealed as town. Pretty conclusive to me. It struck me as odd that DS would say that. He also has not addressed his footwear problem any further. I was considering DS as semi-confirmed town, but his lack of play today is making me question that.
Kat has only had 2 posts all of today. I would have expected much more from her. I know her play is limited to evenings, but there have been several of those since the day started.
MisterBlockey you have only 2 posts as well.
This is only a pressure vote right now. Maybe his name in blue will get his attention. Let me be clear here: my reason for this vote is to put some pressure on a lurker to get in here and start posting. This vote will be removed when he comes in and posts. It would have been for tragic, but there was some explanation of her absence in the away thread.

wait day ends tomorrow night... really? Why did I think I had more time.
Also, real, life. It happens. people not posting are worrying me very much so.
Anyway, couple of things to say.
Bufftabby: I'm not going to vote for you, but I'm going to say right now I really don't like the statement that you saw Roosh's question and chose not only not to answer it, but not to say so. If you won't answer a question just say so, I don't like the idea of staying quiet and hoping a question will go away.
tdpat: another "Why?" situation. If anything the surface of your "Well last time I was scum..." argument actually feels more like an accidental scum confession than a defense.
more to come but I gotta go and I want to get a post up.

Sorry for not posting much to be honest I was highly pissed that the board ate a long drawn out post at the beginning of the Day. And since I didn't want to retype all that, I just stayed putting it off. Yeah lazy, sorry This post has to do with me, Hal (obviously) was telling the truth about who he was prior to his death I knew this. At dusk one of my tricks is throw some holy water on someone. Only possessed humans react to this. He steamed. That's one thing outta the way. The other is a tad touchier, because I may have been responsible for our dear Warlocks death. I have a certain enchantment that I can use to find a demon at night. The only problem is, if I use it on a human it stops there night action and possibly worse, much worse. Yes I took a chance on him, and didn't get a PM letting me know either which way of what my action accomplished, so I do not know whether I directly killed him (or much worse as per my role PM) or just had bad luck. I have some other items I intend on using for the time being, because I do not want to risk the death of a town regardless. If I did result in the death of a Kid, it sucks, but at least that may explain the second death last Night. I was worried about saying anything but I feel it has to be out there. Anyway that won't happen again, I'm sticking to the defensive things for a while to hopefully help the town with something more substantial. I will answer any questions, barring anything that could result in me getting whacked of course. Dusk I will throw some water on Darth, unless our exorcist just wants to try to help him out based on his confession yesterday. Darth needs to live I think, Hal wasn't expected by me last night anyway.

I was hoping RoOsh might reconsider the question, perhaps thinking of the same situation I've outlined as my reason for declining to answer. I'm not trying to be shady, I just want to keep as much informationas possible out of scum's hands until the time comes to use that knowledge.

bolded the part I want to address. What is worse than killing them? ? Well it doesn't say I will kill a human with it, it just says I would stop the night action of the human or much worse if directed at a non-demon. Assumption on my part, made possible by his death. I actually thought it meant maybe a little crazy for a while (like not being able to vote the next day or something) based on the color in my PM. But when I seen he died, well much worse looked much worse.

Signing up for a Mafia game always seems to indicate a flood of real life responsibilities. They go hand in hand for me.
I have respectfully requested a sub from Atarus. While I may tame my schedule into submission over the course of a few days it could also take as long as a few weeks while I iron things out and come to terms with the loss of a coveted social life.
In turn.. I will answer the most pressing questions/concerns so that whoever my sub may be is not saddled with the drama I always manage to leave in my wake..
At the time I cast my vote for bufftabby I had not seen the Mason claim. In fact I didn't see it until I popped into the board very quickly to see the results of Day One (uhm.. amazing job, it's the first game I've participated in or even viewed where scum was caught in a first lynch) and noticed everyone's panicked responses to my vote <.< The short explination is that I started writing my post long before I posted it and forgot to refresh the thread as I attempted to get it out. Stupid and sloppy and I am most definitely embaressed about that. And bufftabby please accept my humblest apologies and <3
Sorry for wasting everyone's time and taking a slot in yet another game I couldn't finish *sigh* But I'll watch from the sidelines as time permits.
