Oh. I think I get it now. pedescribe probably knows the Town he found is self-confirmable (Coroner, Mason, or Witch) no need to divulge that information. That makes sense now.

I'm surprised at the lack of discussion ToDay. This is a bad sign for the Town--the less talk, the less likely the lynch is pro-Town. This is even more important with the delayed reveal. Maybe the long game is too much work for most players.

Ah! Fake Seer claim. That makes sense too. I found the whole thing perplexing. I knew something wasn't adding up. pedescribe is playing it correctly. Now that they aren't going to be investigating anymore, they should use their hidden investigation to try and out a scum. The best way to do that is mass claim and hope a scum counter-claims pedescribe's investigatee. A tad late for the mass claim though. They should be able to squeek it in though. I'm wondering if the Coroner is alive. Not because of any great need the town has for a Coroner, only that I like the Coroner.

Maybe the long game is too much work for most players. I think the 5-2 split, with the bulk of the Day falling on the weekend as being the cause. I recall in C1 reading up on the Dusk on Friday Afternoon after my seminar then not really playing as much during the weekend. That only leaves three days for discussion. It doesn't help that several players look like no-shows.

I think DBI muffed her disclosure. She obviously was trying to catch someone in a lie regarding bufftabby, but whoever killed bufftabby KNOWS they killed bufftabby, so the hidden information isn't hidden from the person who killed bufftabby. I'm not sure I get it. If Nanook is scum, then DBI is tipping him off that he needs to claim Vig. Better to let him claim whatever, then spring the bufftabby info.
I also don't know why DBI felt it necessary to report that she was investigating Idle Thought's corpse. Why share that information? Who does it benefit?
Town should ask Natlaw point blank who the wolves killed on Night 3. Then DBI could make a more optimal choice/verify their stories.

Mass claims are so much fun! I was going to post the exact same thing! As much as we argue about mass claims and their utlity, at the very least, mass claims are interesting.

Natlaw is silly. Probably because he is desperate.
He said he is the only wolf left. Yet he says if Town lynches him the wolves will take out BillMC. If he is lying then Town should lynch him. (1) for lying (2) there is another wolf milling about.
He is also forgetting about the Warlock Claim. Either NAF is a Warlock or he's a Wolf. If NAF is a Warlock, he should target BillMC. Easy Wolf kill if the Wolves execute this strategy. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it.

That reveal should stir things up. The delayed reveal is anti-Town, but it sure as heck is fun for the moderator. ;D And I'm not even being a Gastard!

Town should have killed Kat! the previous Day. No telling if she is telling the truth or not, but Town really needs to reduce the number of Nightkills.
3 kills is a bad Night for Town. They need to reign in the night kills.
I fear that the lynch burden for Town is just too large. It always is for Conspiracy, but it looks like the game was loaded with way more night kills than before. So even with all the cross kills from earlier in the game, Town is in a bad position. Town can't win with so many scum to kill and so many Night kills each night. They have to lynch all the Cabalists to win too.

Yep. In Conspiracy, perfect lynching is not enough to win, which I consider a slight flaw. But it's mitigated by the fact that the Town knows it's not enough. And by clever balancing by the moderator, we hope. The Town was both lucky and unlucky with the cross-kills this game. The Wolves were neutered by Day Three. The Undead took a serious setback as well with both Necromancers killed. But the scum killing potential has yet to be reduced. I think most sides (can't say which though ) have a decent shot still, but we're at a critical moment.

I think there were too many night kills. Town was lucky with them early, but overall, the high number of night kills versus a single lynch is going to get the Town no matter what. Plus the double Necromancer? It didn't work out, but that plus so many nightkills was way powerful for Undead. Think Cabal got so screwed in C1 and C2 that they are going to walk away with C3.
I don't have the time or inclination to figure out the Nightkills, but someone in the game really should. Nanook attempting to kill MHaye looks really bad to me. When he saw that Parzival was Town he should have gone after hockeyguy or Kat!. Inexcusable. The only plausible explanation is Nanook is scum. I'm not willing to accept that Nanook would make such a silly mistake.

Though it will be refreshing to see someone other than Town win. I just think it will kind of suck if Cabal wins simply because of the Witch situation. i.e., Town knows who is town and not-town, but guessing who is Cabal and not-Cabal is the game winning choice.

So no Coroner eh? Obviously brewha and I kicked the shit out of that role so hard that Pleonast had to remove it

I felt the Town had grown too reliant on the Coroner. It's one of my favorite roles, so expect it back in the future.

It's hard to say anything, knowing what I know, except that the game is not over yet. ;D Any comments from unspoiled, neutral observers?

Plus the double Necromancer? It didn't work out, but that plus so many nightkills was way powerful for Undead. Think Cabal got so screwed in C1 and C2 that they are going to walk away with C3. I can finally respond to this. As we can see, the Town had some aces up its sleeve--Townies "surviving" attacks to finger their attackers. That was the balancing factor against the number of Night kills. Although it really wasn't that many, only 3 scum kills per Night. The Vig kills were optional and likely pro-Town (and it should be noted that scum-faction cross-kills are pro-Town as well). As typical, as the Town gathers more information, it becomes increasingly effective, and so it went this game. However you're right that Conspiracy games, with the four factions, are always going to have large swing to them. Both due to unluckiness and to collusion. I try my best to give each faction an equal shot. Comments on balance are always useful to me.

I think, of the two conspiracy games I have played it, that this was the better balanced and (more importantly) more entertainingly balanced game.
I liked the unexpected role doubling a lot. The ability to surprise players while still working with the open setup is, I think, the real genius of the game.
My one and only complaint with the conspiracy games in general is that they start off so big that it is really easy to lose the thread of the game in the early Days. I think that's why the games get so quite in the middle game, too many people are playing too much catch up.

I think that's why the games get so quite in the middle game, too many people are playing too much catch up. Reasons I think the posting level gets slow: 1) Mafia burnout (happens in all games). 2) Complex rules. Players are simply overwhelmed. There's so many things to consider in this game, players default to "screw it" and play from the gut. 3) No vanilla. A lot of players (consciously or not) reduce their posting level when they're a power role or scum. That's everyone in this game. I've worked out several mini-size Conspiracy setups, but it extra tricky to balance them. Fewer players means a single bad turn can wipe a side. I can certainly do a mini Conspiracy sometime if there's interest. I'd really like to run a Conspiracy where the Town doesn't win.

We came so very close this time. I think supporting the FCoD lynch was our downfall. If we had been able to keep him alive one more Day, then even if everything else was the same town would have been in a no win situation.
But we needed to see that at least a full Day ahead of when I saw it.

I liked the unexpected role doubling a lot. I'm sure I posted it elsewhere, but to repeat... The "Three is a Charm" refers to the Alpha Wolf's ability to steal a power. The Alpha would be the "third" of a role, after stealing from one of the doubles. This power is also what the "limited recruitment" refers to, to give players warning that someone acting like a certain might not actually be that role. The recruitment clause was also intended to reduce the effectiveness of the Witchdoctors by seeding doubt.

I thought about killing myself the last Night I was alive, hoping that Cookies would be vigged and the Cabal would win, but Vampires can't kill themselves.
