The Rules
1. The Day/Night Cycle
Each Day will last for exactly five days (120 hours); Each Night will last for exactly 2 days (48 hours). All posts will be timestamped against the server clock. All votes must carried out BEFORE the deadline. Actions carried out on the deadline will not be accepted. Please note: Dawn/Dusk will be 20:00 GMT.
2. Posting
You may discuss strategy by Day or by Night. If you have access to outside boards, you may post to them on any subject by Day or by Night. You may not edit your posts. You may not post or quote your PM or any communication between yourself and a moderators
3. Off-Board Communication
Is permitted via officially sanctioned methods only. For the record, no game-related private messaging among players is permitted.
4. Voting
You may vote to lynch another player by using the now familiar vote CatInASuit construction. However, once your vote is active, it is active until the following Dawn. You cannot unvote, only vote for another unlynched player. Whoever has the most votes at the time a game Day ends will be lynched. Only one person can be lynched at end of Day. If two or more players have an equal number of votes, there will be no Lynch. Votes are reset at the start of each Day.
5. Vote Count
A vote count will be provided through the Day every 24 hours listing those players with votes and the number against them.
6. Participation
There will be no hard and fast rules regarding participation, except this one: please participate. The moderators will determine the adequacy of each player’s participation in a context-sensitive fashion, and will issue warnings, prompts, and removals as necessary. All discussion about a player’s participation level will take place in private; the moderators will not discuss participation, prods, or potential modkills in the game thread under any circumstances.
Broadly speaking, all moderator action, notably modkill, is subject to the discretion of the moderators. Please note: There will be no voting requirement whatsoever. As long as you’re posting, you don’t have to vote at all, ever, as far as the moderators are concerned.
7. Questions.
If you have a question about your role. PM the moderator.
If you have a question about the game, post it clearly in the thread in the now familiar green.
8. MHaye's Statement of Gaming Intent.
Grudges held over from previous games are bad. Grudges warp your view of who has done scummy stuff for bad reasons. No one in this game is more or less likely to have come up with a scum role than any other. So don't go voting for anyone based on their past record
9. CatInASuit's Corollary.
Assume Nothing and Expect Everything.
