Day 6

With an alien revealed and locked away, the passengers wondered who else was on board the vessel. The drinking passed quietly as they looked around wondering of the few who remained, who was friend and who was foe.
Everyone awoke in the morning to the sound of dull thumping echoing through the quarters. As they hunted around, they realised it came from one of the airlocks.
Looking through the porthole, they could see a figure trapped within and a countdown ticking away.
The thumping became more frantic as the countdown echoed.
Decompression in 5...4...3...2...1.
The doors at the far end opened and with a horrified look, the figure was sucked into space.
sachertorte had been jettisoned into open space.
And of the person who had died last Night...
Nanook had been registered as a Passenger and was a noted Metallurgist enjoying the cruise.
Day 6 begins now. It will end on Wednesday 9th December at 20:00 GMT

Otherwise, I plan to spend the rest of toDay trying to figure out some of the possibilities for were we stand.

Hey come on guys!! We had only one death last night Either the second killer is dead or for some reason he is lying low. And Ed, don't feel so bad, I am a passenger , although you won't believe that until the game is over. I'm up for a Pleonast lynch today but would like you to summarize your reasons storyteller.

I don't know if pleo is lying or not. But since I pretty much telegraphed my pleo vote in the other day, I don't want to waste today discussing the merits of lynching him, since it's about 90% odds that I will vote for him anyways.
I think its better if we use this time to discuss who we think is the second scummiest. I don't have the time right now since I'll be leaving soon for a party. But I'll give you a hint which way I'm leaning right now.
Vote: sinjin
(Just a note, my main reason is the obvious scum bus that pleo tried to drive over her).

Vote: Pleonast
His claim/play still seems the most likely to be Scummy.
I assume, if we're lucky, we'll get down to three-handed toMorrow. Probably with Red, story, and sinjin.
If I'm still alive toMorrow, I'll have a read on Red, so most likely we are facing a godfather (or I'm a lying bastard scum who got really really lucky).
Also, does someone want to go back and look at the number of deaths each Night and try to come up with some theories on who killed whom?

Vote CountCurrent Status: sinjin Lynch. sinjin (3) pleonast (2) um, 3 votes have been cast for Pleonast. Story, Sinjin, and myself. Only 2 votes have been cast for sinjin, from Red and Pleo. So, either CIAS has made an error or the Scum have a politician and we've lost.

Hey Cat don't end the day until you verify the vote record and give us a chance to talk about it. If there are two scum left and one is a vote switcher why is the game not over already? The only other possibility I see is one scum, one PFK (vote-switcher) and three town. Or I guess one vote switcher scum = Pleo. Still taking cough medicine, am I missing something?

So that's it, then. Basically the game has been over since the end of Night Two, and we've just been playing out the string. That's... kind of spectacularly frustrating, actually. No, it has mattered to play out until now. If you had lynched me earlier, you'd still be at lynch or lose instead of down one vote. And there was the problem of the third party. I fairly sure he was an exclusive winner, so the town got to "choose" between us and him. He could, but then Ed (I was going to say last scum, but you should've figured it out by now) will move his vote to me and we'll still lynch sinjin. I wasn't going to use my suicide vote power until it let us win, so it doesn't matter what town does now. (After it was revealed that the alien could vote switch as well as a town, you all should have expected a scum vote power.)

OK, this was not a balanced game in my opinion. I'm a little pissed that I just wasted a month or so of my life playing it since Day Three. But only a little.
And there is this, at least: I was right about something. We should have lynched Pleonast yesterDay, and no one would listen to me.

Wait - he said, posting for the fourth time in a row - something is up here. If Special Ed were actually the last Scum, and if Pleonast is telling the truth about his power, why didn't Ed simply vote for sinjin immediately, along with Pleo, then use the vote-switch power to finish the game? Why futz around with Ed voting Pleonast and so on. What if skeezix did switch his vote and Ed happened to not be around or lost Internet connection or whatever?
Why would they play it that way?
Something weird is going on here. skeezix if you're reading and you're Town, please change your vote to Pleonast.
CatinaSuit, I would like to request that the Day not be ended until skeezix has either changed his vote or explicitly declined to do so.

And since we're here: How the hell did you guys have so many Night kills? That would be your friendly neighbor alien bomber, not us. "Explosion" was not simply color. As for the overall balance, we'll have to see what the power roles all were. From my side, all I see are many power roles and no vanilla town. Versus only four scum.

why would Pleo still be gaming the situation?
Is it possible he's a lone Scum politician/vote switcher/vote charger?
With only 3 Scum, it would make sense to make them powerful, I suppose.
I do hope red skeezix comes in and switches his vote.

Day 6
Dec 7, 2009 10:49:54 GMT -5
Post by storyteller0910 on Dec 7, 2009 10:49:54 GMT -5
Oh, come on. If you're telling the truth, then Town had: three vanillas (myself, sinjin, and skeezix), no alignment Cop, no Doctor, delayed role reveals (which in turn gave the Scum the power to fake good role claims with limited danger of being caught), an incredible number of anti-Town deaths, versus "only" four Scum (which would be perfectly reasonable in a normal setup with this many players). For Pete's sake, we only lynched two Town the whole game, and it was over for us at Dawn of Day Three (as you say, I guess we played to determine whether you or shaggy would win). A game where the Town is eliminated from win contention after two mislynches and on Day Three is not, in my view, a balanced game; a game where Town keeps playing for three more Days after that point is not, in my view, a particularly fun one.
