I will forgo the color for this trial run, as I seem to be long winded as is. I have already Identified the Dirty Rotten Cheater and I have given them the answers and points values to the questions I will ask. If you did not receive a list of answers, you are not the Dirty Rotten Cheater, and you may consider yourself vanilla town.
Quick poll : What time zone are you guys in? I would like to start Question Round 1 [Day 1] on Monday the 25th at 12 Noon EST. I intend to have the Question round go for three days, Ending on Thursday the 28th at Noon. I intend to start Voting round 1 Thursday the 28th at Noon, going for four days, ending Monday Feburary 1st. My reason being, is that I would like to use a round robin system for voting, and I feel that this way, we can have enough time to get answers down, and still have some considerable time for voting. What are your Thoughts?

I'm CST or GMT-6
If we are using round robin for answering questions, does it need to take 3 days? Can't it just take until the questions are answered? I think we can agree to answer the questions in a timely fashion, but if that's all we're doing, I don't think it has to take a specific amount of time (and I'd hope it takes less than 3 days)

If we can get this over sooner, I'm for it, I just wanted to be fair to all.

EST - no preference on scheduling.
A clarification: By round robin, you mean you will publish an order list that is different for every round, and that is the order we are to post our answer in? or that is the order that we have to vote in? or both?

A few issues have been brought to my attention.
I have only seen one episode of the show, and it was canceled after just one season. The show takes heavily from "The Weakest Link" in fact, a version of the show filmed it's pilot on the NBC Weakest Link stage. Also, the Wikipedia entry gives information on how to handle special cases. I will use both of these in deciding rules issues.
Again, this is a Beta Test game, and I can only find issues with your help.
Additional Rules and Clarifications:
Round Robin: I will randomly select a player to be the first person to answer our first question. Players will answer after that in sign up order [That is, if Player 3 is picked to answer first, Player 4, Player 5, and so on will answer. I don't mean to state after 3, I would go to player 1.].
After this question, and elimination, I will start the next question with the next remaining player in order. The list will obviously need to wrap around / go around the corner. That is, after 6, we will then go back to 1.
Voting will also be revealed in the same Round Robin order. Please note a change in voting below.
Voting: To make voting more true to the game [and thus to avoid unforeseen issues by going too far off the path]
I need to implement a new rule on voting:
Before the public voting round, but after everyone has answered and been scored, you will need to send me your vote via pm.
This is done to imitate the action of writing down a vote as is done on the show. [Again, if we remember The Weakest Link, a similar process for voting was entertained.]
After I have everyone's vote PM in, we will begin voting in public. A formality in one sense, but I don't see how the game can survive without it.
Comment on your votes and the game in general will help the game a lot. FOS all you want, just make sure that your official vote matches the one you send me in PM.
You only get one vote per round, and it will only be counted once, but you are broadcasting the vote twice, once in private, once in public. [Hopefully that makes sense].
I will remind everyone when we get there what all needs to take place in a voting round.
Which brings me to another issue brought before me:
Ties:
In the event of a Tie, the player with the highest Answer point total for THAT round will cast an additional and deciding vote.*
In the final round, EVERYONE who played will get to vote. The TV version has an Audience vote. I will work on securing an Unspoiled observer for this role. In the Event of a Tie on the final vote, this unspoiled observer will cast the deciding vote.
If The Cheater is voted off before the end of the game I will randomly make a Vanilla player the next Cheater. The same questions and points will be asked and rewarded. The same cheat sheet will be used, and given to the new cheater.
*This is more Weakest Link than Dirty Rotten Cheater, but I think it will make our version run better. My point values are different from the TV version of Dirty Rotten Cheater -- the TV version allows for people to tie in any one round. I don't see how this will help deciding who breaks a tie.
---
Any other questions?
I think this game can withstand a traditional spoiled thread. This thread would have a copy of the cheat sheet in it. Should we put one up for the beta, or hold off on that ?
It seems like we are all good for our start time. Hopefully we will work out all issues before then.
I am perfectly fine with ending rounds as soon as we have all parts of the round accounted for. My estimate at time was a liberal guess to ensure all parts would be in on time.
I begin to see the ""fun"" of being a Mod already. I can only guess that Modding a traditional Mafia game is harder, given that, that box is well defined and if a Mod strays out of that box, he gets word of it in spades.
But, I think this game can work in spite of these issues. It is just a matter of finding them first.

If someone else becomes the new cheater, doesn't that mean, basically, that we are trying to kill the cheater so we might become the cheater? and victory goes not to the person who discovered the cheater in any particular round, but to the person who lasted until the end?

You have to vote off the Cheater first. After that happens, if that happens, the next cheater is determined randomly. I know this goes against my original plans, but I checked the wiki page on the game, and it stated that if the cheater goes before then end of the game, a new cheater is picked. I would guess that kinda throws the personal and team victories out the window. I guess we could do it, who ever lasts the longest. That would change up voting a bit though. Then again, not if it was done in secret.... Dont mind me gang, I am arguing with myself here.

Do you win if the cheater at the time of your death loses? 2. Do you win if when it gets down to 2 people, the non-cheater wins? Die early as the original cheater: 1. OK, you lose, does everyone else win? Die as the 2nd, 3rd, etc cheater: 1. Do you win since you helped kill one or more of the cheaters before you? 2. Do you tie because you won, but now you lost? 3. Are you just a loser, even though you might have helped kill several cheaters? Win as the orignal cheater: 1. You rock Win as the 2nd, 3rd, etc cheater: 1. You killed off other cheaters and managed to live in 2-handed, you still rock (though all you had to do was convince the non-player) Or are we just going by how many points everyone has and you can only get points in the rounds you are alive cheater or not?

Totally half-baked idea. 1) Associate higher point values to the more popular/likely answers. 2) When a player is lynched, whether Cheater or Vanilla, they acquire as many points as there are living players left in the game. 3) Players are trying for the lowest score, not the highest score.

Or are we just going by how many points everyone has and you can only get points in the rounds you are alive cheater or not? This. As far as the personal victory goes. You will still win, as far a dead townie wins if "Town Wins" if you out the cheater. That is for the team victory. Either you guys have extreme confidence in finding The Cheater, or I didn't explain something right. The Game show has, I believe not cheating players splitting a cash prize equally, if the cheater is found at the end of the show. I don't have that much cash.

Forgot to include that you'd still randomly pick a new Cheater in my scenario. Applying points based on how many players are left is the incentive not to be killed early. You'd have a Cheater winner (lowest points out of all cheater players) and a Vanilla winner (lowest points out of all Vanilla players) and I don't know how to decide an overall winner. Like I said, half-baked idea.

If town lynches the Cheater, I will award town the win.
After that, if there are still questions to be asked we will continue the game to hammer out issues and what not, and just to have fun with the game. I will need to make a new Cheater, but we will discontinue with Official score at that point.
I will keep score, and we can award points, but we can do away with the entire personal victory.
More than anything, I just want to present a 85%-99% workable game here, and have people more skilled in Mafiadom take it from there.
I know there is a game here. I know it can work. I'm just not sure that I can do it all alone, by myself. But trust me, it can work as is. I will make it work the best I can, and we will take it from there.

Peeker has agreed to watch the game and serve as tie breaker in the final round, if it comes to that.
Any other questions?

How do you know it's a "good" answer? [/only partially kidding] It's a good answer because Taft rules. I thought that was clear in the latter part of my post. His name is an anagram of Fatt* and he once got stuck in a bathtub. What's not to like? Also, if we don't have a little chatter going on during this answer period it's going to be awfully boring, so I am taking it upon myself to get a little chatter going. *That joke is funnier when spoken out loud and both t sounds are pronounced. Try it on your friends, good times are guaranteed.
