While we are waiting, do we want to share stories on buying video game consoles? Perhaps on Launch day?
I Was in line to get the Wii on Launch day. I was 21st in line, the store had 20.
I would have gotten in line a lot sooner than that, but I also had tickets to Blue Man Group the same night.
I got word a month later that Best Buy was getting one last shipment in before Christmas. I bought a bag of chips and some mountain dew. I checked on the line at 1 am. I got in it at that time. I didn't expect it to be that long when it was.
The best part of that night, Me, and the three people behind me all brought their Nintendo DS, and Mario Kart. Good times.
The worst part of that night, once I took out my PSP, a few people thought that I was not as loyal as I appeared to be.
I braved the cold that night, and got my Wii. The last the store was to get before Christmas. One person saw me walking out with it, and offered me 500 bucks for it. [MSRP was 250]
I would have done it for 800.

Just adding - I own SSB and played it a fair amount. I'm at least passingly familiar with all of the characters, and know quite a bit about the classic Nintendo properties. Here's a list of characters in the game: www.mahalo.com/super-smash-bros-brawl-character-listOf them (without having played the previous SSB game) I would guess that -- presuming you are going canonically - the following characters would be scum: King Dedede Ganondorf Bowser Wario Wolf (I think? I never played Star Fox but he appears to be an antagonist) Meta Knight, possibly. He's an antagonist but not evil. There might be others but those would be my guesses.

Actually, I just checked pedescribe's last game and it appears that the canonical villian/hero status didn't play a role (e.g. Ganondorf was town). So you can scratch that, but the list of characters might help anyway.

Obviously, the characters that might appear to be scum are probably not going to be scum in the game. If we go by last time:
King Dedede - scum Ganondorf - town Bowser - absent Wario - absent Wolf - town Metaknight - town
The full list of scum was Peach, Samus, Captain Olimar, Tabuu, Sheik, and King Dedede. Therefore, let us not assume that a character is scum because they are evil in the game, and vice versa good characters are not necessarily town.

Just adding - I own SSB and played it a fair amount. I'm at least passingly familiar with all of the characters, and know quite a bit about the classic Nintendo properties. +1 . I actually got to make an argument relating Brand Loyalty to " Fanboy " in one of my Marketing classes. Of course, it helped that the Female prof. was a gamer. She agreed with my point. I am a Nintendo Fan Boy. If you think otherwise, I have a Virtual Boy that will prove otherwise. * In terms of SSB, I own the GC and WII versions, but I have not played it that much. Back in College**, one guy had his copy set up on a big screen in the Student center. He had unlocked soooooo many hidden characters, that I wondered if he had a different version than mine. *The Nintendo Virtual Boy. Nintendo's only Flop on a new system level. Nintendo wanted to make a "Portable" 3-D headset system. Except that all games for it could only use one color. Red. Yeah, it was about that memorable. There is another story here, but I will save it for later. ** I'm 27. I get the feeling that quite a few people here are a bit older.

For whatever reason, Nintendo has not been really involved in my life as a console gamer.
Way back in my ColecoVision days, I did play a lot of Donkey Kong, but that was the first and last Nintendo system/title I actually owned (technically not true if you consider Shay's Gamecube as now mine, but it has sat in a box since we first moved in together and I have never played it).
I certainly played a lot of Super Mario Bros at the upright machine at the grocery store that my mom shopped at, and I played a good bit on the Nintendo consoles of friends too.
But for the most part, Nintendo and I seem to be ships passing in the night. I do want to get a Wii, someday, and I have a little spot where it may one day sit between my PS3 and 360, but I am somehow able to resist my usual short-term-gratification-consumer urges every time we walk past them stacked up in Costco.
