I'm not sure who/where it started but I think it was originally a sarcastic dig at Brisbane, our southern states have long said Brisbane is just a sleepy country town. But somewhere along the way it sort of stuck and was adopted in all seriousness.

In truth, I still get a slight chuckle out of the comparison, don't get me wrong I love living in Brisbane, I would rather live here than anywhere else, but Brisbane is no Vegas when it comes to the sheer number of things to do, shows to see, etc. We do have a casino, but it's barely a patch on some of the super-casino's in Vegas.

And, I just got your jewish boys reference.

To explain in that case, it is strictly a merging of Brisbane & Las Vegas. And just to clarify, Brisbane is pronounced Bris-bin. Yes I know how it's spelt

On a completely random note, is it possible to link user-ranks to Karma levels? 'Cause I think it'd be funny if somebody gets a ridiculously high Karmic level (like 30 or 50 or something) and suddenly their user rank changes to God. And -50 = Lord of the Underworld.
