After much squabbling back and forth, in very exciting and not at all anti-climatic Day One, one steps forward bravely to the gallows. Idle Thoughts drops down, and swings. And swings. And keeps swinging. Eventually, you all get tired of his struggles and cut him down.
Idle Thoughts is a Scotsman and has survived the lynch.
Night One has started. There may be no strategy discussions, except for claims about one's role, powers, or results.

What the fark? I say seriously... what... the... fark? When I left this morning there were approximately three and a half votes, and two of them were for Eureka. (Ok, I may be exaggerating a bit, but it sure as heck felt like it.) I come back and there's FOUR NEW PAGES of information. I swear to God this feels like the time that half of my fourth-form class decided to have a big makeout session behind the bike sheds, and decided not to invite me.

Sorry folks - my son got sick and I had to leave work so I could spend time consoling an inconsolable infant between his bouts of squirting liquid foulness over me. Hence I missed the voting deadline.
That said, having read the end of the Day, I probably took the less stressful option. Sheesh.

It's still hard for me to get a male image in mind when I try to picture sach or Catinasuit.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I will just always think of them as female.

It's just an aftereffect from thinking of them both as females for so long...it's like my brain forces me to still see a female, in my mind, whenever I see their names. Sorry, Sach, Cat.

It's okay. I don't mind. I don't even think I bother to correct people if they call me 'her.'
In my circle, it happens in real-life anyway.

I think of you as a chocolate cake version of the clock in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. So, of course I had to consult IMDB to find out the clock's name (Cogsworth). So of course I had to see what else the actor (David Ogden Stiers) had been in. Meanwhile, I'm watching The Simpsons, and an old Homer mugshot pops up, in which he's wearing a "Haig '88" shirt. I decided to google it after I finished my Cogsworth-related research. As I read Stiers' previous roles, I come across a General Haig, which just happens to be the Haig of '88 fame. Full circle in about 5 minutes. Beautiful. Whoo, fluff!

I used to go online as "ngwalme." Then, for a while, I was "dogsbody." And while there was something to be said for being gender-neutral, I decided I was done with that a few years back.

Yeah. When I first signed up for the SDMB I really wanted gender neutrality, but the urge passed rather quickly. I should just change my name to Renata like I use most other places.
I am woman, hear me roar. Hee.

What was funny to me about "ngwalme" was that people assumed I was male, and yet "maeglin" was assumed to be female, and both are words from Tolkien's Elvish.

No more PackRat playing, SC? A new collection came out about two weeks ago and was only out for two weeks..it just recently retired. They don't usually do that...but they had warned everyone it'd only be out two weeks. They think those really fast ones adds an element of fun to the game. I say "hah".
But I like the new bacon set and one coming out today called Checkmate...I assume it's about chess.

Also, who's for a pan-galactic gargle blaster? I think I'd like just to be hit with the gold brick. Oh please. You play as a poisoner (or at least, poisoner's accomplice) in ONE game, and all of a sudden everyone thinks you're out to get them. The issue of gender is a thorny one. There's no big conspicuous "male" or "female" icon, so even for the people whose gender is shown, it's generally in tiny text in a bit of their profile that I generally don't even look at, because really, who cares what your karma, your gender or your location is?** But I will try and make an effort to remember; and as I said on another board, if I don't remember, you can always be "them" to me. **I mean, apart from you. I mean, if you went to sleep a generally well-liked female in the USA and you woke up a male warlord in a small African dictatorship, you'd probably care. But otherwise, nope.

Eureka to me is a very feminine sounding name. Probably, that's because it's my name, and I know I'm female. It may also be because it was a real life nickname before it became an online nickname--and in that form, it was a repronunciation of my real name.
But since I've been posting more on Ravelry, which is mostly female, at least in the areas I frequent, I'd kinda gotten used to the default pronouns being she and her and didn't realize it until I started noticing people here referring to me and using masculine pronouns.
Oh well.

Oh well. Sorry. "Eureka" makes me think of Archimedes, who was a guy. I'll go one step further. "Eureka" to me means an ancient bearded Greek philosopher leaping out of his bath and running down the street, naked and free as the day is long, his body glistening in the hot Greek sunshine, his pulsating todger waving merrily in the wind... ...Ahem, where was I? Lost my train of thought... ...Oh yeah. "Eureka". Well, let's just say the image it conjures up isn't exactly what I'd describe as "feminine".
