Dunno if Archangel slipped or just misread. But the admission of skimming and the OMGUS vote don't look good either. Vote: Archangel
How do they not "look good?" There are no town or scum in this game, it's every player for him or herself. And it's not an OMGUS vote. I'm suspecting Zuma's wincon may have to do with successfully starting a bandwagon.

... it is captainklutz's comment that might be most Humbuggish. I'd prefer to see others' answers to questions 1-5 before voting ... but ... Vote: captainklutz How is my comment humbuggish? Lynching archangel twice won't make her lose (unless she has a "don't get lynched twice" wincon). So she's not being automatically excluded from any group win. I think some of us have heard this before: Let me just do this to you; let me do that to you; No no, I won't go all the way! And "the check is in the mail" too. Once someone's been lynched twice, the Humbugs will have an easy target for their murderous objective. The question is: How strong is the Humbug voting bloc going to be? Are you a Humbug, Captain Klutz? Besides myself, only Guiri has claimed Altruist, and he seems to imply he's going to the Dark Side anyway to avoid boredom.
I agree with your criticism of kidv's comment. However your suspicion that my wincon depends on "starting a bandwagon" is completely out of left field and grasping at straws. I also agree with klutz that I want to lynch you today to get one step closer to your wincon, in case we need it. I'll tell you something about my wincon which is completely truthful: 1. It does not preclude anyone else from winning 2. It necessitates me finding another person, and I don't know how to do it yet.

1. It does not preclude anyone else from winning 2. It necessitates me finding another person, and I don't know how to do it yet. Is it similar to the sample wincons? Wincon: For you to win all you have to do is reveal who has the role of Debbie Kleyser and her fiance FredSo, either: - we happen to lynch the players who have Debbie and Fred's role and their role names are revealed - Debbie and Fred claim - There are investigative powers among us Wincon: You win when you have learned 4 role-names of 4 players still in the gameAs before, - (simply) force a 4-way tie or wait till Day 4 at the latest when 4 players have been lynched, you've won - wait till 4 people offer up their names (possibly through a breadcrumb, but I can't see why - unless they need to find each other) - There are investigative powers among us Wincon: You will win the game when you have voted for a "flat tire lady" 3 times on different Days. You don't have to end the Day with a vote on a "flat tire lady".- simply vote every player once every Day - wait for flat tire lady to claim - wait for flat tire lady's role to be revealed after a lynch - there are investigative powers among us The last two wincons seem so easy to reach that I expect we all have something considerably more difficult...

not really similar, no, and a bit more difficult, yes. But I don't want to get bogged down with my wincon so early, so that's all I'll say about it for toDay. I suspect lots of things will happen in the ensuing day 1s, and hopefully some of it will help me find this person.

And I think I've given away enough for so early in the game, so I won't entertain any questions about it until Day 1.

<font style="font-size: 12px;"> I'm going to go out o a limb here and guess that it's either impossible or extremely difficult to have everyone win by Day 7. Otherwise, ... Is this clear? If not, I may have found a way out of the impasse. First note that we can divide all Mafia players into three sorts: (a) The altruists who would love it if each player in the game fulfills his or her win condition. (Would that be a Mafia first?) (b) Mean-spirited humbugs for whom others' losing is as important as their own winning. (c) Those who refuse to divide people into three sorts. Now I think we should do partial claims and arrange for all the altruists to win and all the humbugs to lose. (Of course if you're an altruist but your wincon is incompatible with everyone winning, then you will be happy to sacrifice yourself in the common interest.) The partial claim I propose is for each of us to answer the following True/False questions: (1) My win-con is compatible with everyone winning. (2) I am an altruist; I want everyone to win. (3) My answer to (2) is truthful. (4) My answer to (3) is truthful. Although I've never lied in a Mafia game, it's come to my attention that the same doesn't hold for some of you, and some humbugs may cheerfully lie in response to (2), (3) and (4) above. But we can prevent that with a question (5) which will make the logical universe implode if responses to 2, 3, 4 are all lies: (5) I respond honestly to an even number of the questions (2), (3), (4), (5). I'll go first; my answers are: 1. True, 2. True, 3. True, 4. True, 5. True. Now whom to lynch? Why, the Humbugs of course!! Cooperation is for weenies anyway. I think that whoever we lynch toDay we should also lynch toMorrow, so we get to see their win condition. Since some of us are proud to be weenies, it is captainklutz's comment that might be most Humbuggish. I'd prefer to see others' answers to questions 1-5 before voting but (as I mentioned earlier) unreliable Internet induces me to cast an early vote just in case. Vote: captainklutzFalse trichotomy. Another obvious group is "Players who thinks it's just no fun if we all hold hands and pretend this is an after-school special on cooperation." Yet another is "Players who think there may be mutually exclusive wincons that hinder this Sesame Street ideal you are proposing." I'm not out to get anyone, or prevent anyone else from winning, but, assuming there's no risk involved (which is a big assumption), where's the fun if we all help eachother out from the get-go? Where's the challenge? To be perfectly honest, if I were modding this, I'd probably add a clause like "No revealing/discussion of wincons except for those that have been officially revealed." This forces us to deduce motives and the wincons that drive them by paying careful attention to behaviour. As for your questions: (1) I have no idea without knowing all the other wincons (and no, this is not me asking to hear them). (2) I'd like to see as many people as possible win, but I think we should all try to earn it. My own wincon looks to be fairly tricky to achieve. Could be dirt simple through cooperation, but that's no fun. (3-5) True for all, but irrelevant. See hypothetical, below: Hypothetical wincon: Prevent at least one other player from achieving their wincon. Answers to your questions: (1) True (A lie!) (2) True (Another lie!) (3) True (Why tell the truth at this point?) (4) True (Lying is fun) (5) True (I don't really understand how this is supposed to out the liars, but hey, you answered True, so let's go with that) Your questions don't set up any actual safeguards against deceptive players. So, unless you or some other player has a Lie Detector ability, these are all meaningless.

You know, this game isn't going to be much fun if Day One and Day One 2.0 are just waiting to lynch me to find out my character name and wincon. I will share my character name if that helps. I'm Mrs. Lancaster.

That hurts you know. My initial thought, having read it all in one is that archangel seems incredibly reluctant to be lynched. And this is in a game where it essentially doesn't matter much if you are lynched once or twice because you have three lives. So perhaps her wincon involves not being lynched on the first Day 1 or not being lynched at all or not getting to a second-stage lynching or something. That last one would explain why she decided to hint at and then reveal her name. If we know who she is then we don't need to lynch her to find out. I have a question but I just need to check the rules for something. Back in a sec...

3. The player with the most votes will be lynched however a lynch will not result in the player leaving the game/losing the game. First time a player is lynched their role-name will be revealed at the start of the next Day. The second time their personal wincon will be revealed. The third time they will lose the game. Unless their wincon is fulfilled the same Day. If there is a tie both (or more) players will be revealed/lose.Cool effects mine. It's so pretty and sparkly. It is possible that there are mutually exclusive wincons and also possible that wincons are unconnected or reliant on other wincons. We're not going to know until we get information. It seems to me that the best way to get information is to have multiple lynches per Day. At this stage (unless you have one of those Humbug wincons) it is to our benefit to manage the voting so that we can have tied lynches. Therefore: vote ZumaCan we edit? I don't see a rule against it and I noticed someone edited earlier and nobody commented. I forgot to include a tiny bit in my earlier post.

Can we edit? I don't see a rule against it and I noticed someone edited earlier and nobody commented. I forgot to include a tiny bit in my earlier post. Standard rule on this board is editing is not allowed. However in a game like this I find it very hard to mod-punish someone for editing - that and also I missed that someone already did it. Better go back and check...

Whoah! Hold your horses. It was KidV but it was in the sign-ups so I don't think it can count in game terms. I was only enquiring cos I didn't see the rule. I don't want to get anyone in trouble! Doesn't relate to my wincon in any way, either. My own is beautiful as Angel's flesh in springtime.
