I am extremely displeased both that a) Ed thinks it's time to mass claim without much other input and that b) Septimus decided to take it on himself to assume the rest of us would be onboard with this. I am not a fan of mass claims, and while we've had a number of claims this game some of them have been proven to be false, so I fail to see what good a mass will do at this point. Assuming Scum were roleblocked, a mass claim will tell them who they need to kill to stop that. Likewise, a PFK who needs to avoid being roleblocked will be able to do the same. If investigators have information, I trust them to reveal it at the point they feel is most beneficial for Town; given the strangeness and apparent importance of location this game, I don't know that it's safe to assume anyone has results at this point. Ed, why do you think Now is the time? OK, let's take it in order: 1. It's Day 4, and we have 4 dead Scum. Now is the time to lock people into claims. 2. If the Scum were blocked, then our roleblocker knows who they blocked! 3. Same applies to a SK! 4. We can lock people into claims that might be able to be proven or disproved with the results of investigators of any type (alignment or watchers/trackers) 5. The Scum (or SK if we have one, since it's likely both are playing solo now) can take the chance to kill any investigators, but that will only confirm their results. Now, the players who really won't want to have a mass claim right now are likely to be our remaining Scum (I can't imagine more than 1) and or SK. Which one are you, Sister? PS, if you're the SK, Sister then bravo! and thanks for the assist. PPS, if you're not a Vigilante or a mason, I'll eat my hat, Renata. I'll probably eat it anyway. It one of those Carmen Miranda hats. sounds good to me. i'd prefer that more players chime in before we start. it's night for most of you and may be able to reply in the morning. personally, i think Renata is a vig who also has to visibly behave strangely hence her spreadsheet-killing voting. Renata 3 Spreadsheets 0 ;D

So you're a Scotsman AND a Lover? (Most roles tied in death with other are called Lovers or Siblings). And hypothetically speaking the game could still be continuing due to PFK(s) alone, though I see no reason to expect that's the case unless I missed something in the rules saying there aren't any. My PM says I win when all the scum are dead. Scum period. Not Scum and malicious third parties, so I'm taking scum to mean just scum (as opposed to PFKs). i just remembered Lightfoot claimed to be a Scotsman. IIRC, that means she can survive an NK. Or/And a lynch in most cases.

My PM reads that I win when all scum are dead even if I am scared away like a ... well like a character in Scooby Doo

I'm so scatterbrained sometimes. I went back to read some posts in Day 3 and wound up posting to it with my most recently composed message. Let's try this again: Also: 1. I'm mostly okay with a mass claim, as long as someone fairly trusted makes the order list. 2. I was under the impression that we'd know, somehow, if Daphne was kidnapped. Mentalguy's PM reads "If either of these things happen (in regards to Daphne being kidnapped or Velma losing her glasses) you may submit three rooms to search". But how would he know to submit rooms unless someone got notification she was kidnapped? Which leads to the question: How would anyone know if Daphne was kidnapped? If the kidnapping makes Daphne scum, we certainly couldn't expect or rely on Ed to say "Oh, yeah, by the way, I was kidnapped". : p Sub P, Mental Guy, do you know if either of you would be informed?

@ Idle that term was not used but having read up I guess so. Tis the reason I assumed multiple Towns were killed at Nights BTW I have a name now I just got a PM I guess it was an oversight (mods are human too)

My guess is they had bigger fish to fry and
could not be bothered to kidnap a "known" Daphne ( I think claiming early messed that up for SCUM)
This being a grand SCUM ruse is not supported by the numbers as I interpret them

@ ED NO my PM did not include a Name. ( I don't know if that can be verified) I know for certain that there is atleast one character in the game that can be killed if the character they are 'tied' to is killed. given the multiple NK's I guess there were more than one you mean like lovers or siblings? or is this a unique variant?

I think this was covered earlier, didn't someone mention that my kidnapping would be made publicly?
Aside from the obvious impact of my vote being bought.
Which, of course, would be a dangerous power to have if we were to approach lynch or lose

I would suggest that we all claim at this point. I;m not demanding it, but I do think it will be helpful. Especially if any investigators have any results I agree it's time for a mass claim. The remaining mason(s) should set up the claim order.

So you vote based solely on if people vote for Town or Scum? Really? and, not to blow holes in your suspicion list, but Joanie sure looks Scummy from here. She (as Town) did this in my game too (which was her first game). I kept slapping my forehead each time she (and others--many others did it too, since they were all newbies) did it. Yeah, Scuzzlebutt..it's not a smart move to vote just based on who voted for who. Ok, seriously... Have I voted yet? No... I said that because of who they voted for they are on my suspects list, that's it. Idle, why even bring this into the game like you did? Chris's game was my FIRST game. Do you expect me to know exactly how to vote and not to vote the first game. I have learned that there is NOT one thing that you can go by to vote on, words or votes... If you look back at this game, my vote on FCOD and Cap. Pinkies were not because who they voted for... To comment on the thinking Joanie was a townie; if you notice in the Night Thread I posted that it seemed like a very long night, I was checking the boards for the DAY thread. As soon as Julie posted the DAY thread, I read the storyline and it said just GHOST and not SCUM GHOST. Hence the reason I said that Joanie was TOWN and that gnarlycharlie and reneta were on my suspects list for always voting town or possible towns... I never saw the edit that Joanie was SCUM until this morning. I retract my statements on gnarlycharlie and Reneta.
Off to RL now... Will be back on later

FWIW I was not the target last night I asked. Do other players get told when they are targeted for a NK and they survive? Typically no. A Scotsman is usually shown publicly to have survived whatever, which is why I would expect that Julie would have told you you were not attacked, assuming you're telling the truth etc. I don't get your case against Scuzzlebutt and I'm not sure you get my defense, either. He made an argument that depends on Joanie having been town, which she was not. A scum Scuzzlebutt would have known quite well that Joanie was scum and would not have made that mistake. Given Idle pointing out that the game has no PFKs, the only options I can see for Scuzzle are: 1. Scuzzle was pretending. 2. Scuzzle and/or Joanie did not know who the other scum were. (I *have* seen that setup in the past, even played such a role once.) 3. Scuzzle is not scum. I've seen nothing from Scuzzle this game to suggest he'd try a gambit like #1, and #2 requires assumptions there's no support for.* That leaves #3. * Though of course even as I type this it occurs to me that if any role might be an unknown-to-other-bad-guys role it might be a "ghost". But regardless, that's my argument.

Joanie is town which puts gnarlycharlie at the top of my suspect list. He voted for BillMc on day 1 and Paranoia (sp?) on day 2 and now the dearly departed Joanie on day 3. i actually voted for Romanic who is also gone. i did note to myself after Night 2 that all those i voted for in the Days were NKd after. it could be coincidence, someone trying to cast suspicion on me or someone who HAS to NK whomever i vote for. after seeing Julie's explanation, I don't see why she would say Joanie was town. until i get an explanation: Vote Scuzzlebuttmoving on, i admit there may no longer be scum just PFKs. i'm stumped why Scum would not NK anyone. it's a first for me. I posted my statement. I had read the storyline with it just being Ghost and had assumed it was TOWN and not SCUM. When I thought she was Town, I went back and looked at the votes that people had casted. Not saying that my vote would be based off this but it was on my radar. I retracted that statement in my post to address the mis-understanding.

I think I might regret posting vote counts. Let me make a request of everyone. Please, don't vote for someone jsut because they voted for Town every Day over someone who voted for Scum. See, Scum can easily vote for fellow Scum, and will, to make that type of analysis worthless. A more involved analysis that takes into consideration that Scum is motivated to vote for other Scum as well as might be motivated to save a teammate from time to time or bus them as they see fit. You should post them regardless.

I'd rather have a mason publish an order. What do you say, Renata? Haha. You amuse me. But I'm actually not a mason. Asking the question as it was answered, though, I agree that a mason setting out the claim order is the most sensible thing to do. As for why I support a mass claim at this time: -- we should have at least one mason -- we probably have a vig -- Velma is implied to be town by others' PMs (not certain, but implied); and "glasses" sounds to me like some sort of investigator -- we probably have a doc -- we could well have a roleblocker -- plus the 4 interlinked-with-others roles we've identified so far That's 8-10 of 13 living players and could make the scumhunting fairly easy if assumptions are correct that all are town. (Of course if it's not, things could eventually get interesting.) Also, interaction of claimed power roles could potentially confirm some players more fully, out scum in one or more ways, or force scum into making suboptimal decisions going forward. It feels like the right time to me.

How do you know that for certain? Seconded, perhaps LightFoot should share his full PM as a first order of business. Or at least enough to shed light on this issue. @ scuzzle -- sorry for the gender confusion. It's possible we've had a vig shot every night, whether compulsive or just confident, and that the third death on Night Two was a scum bonus kill, used early in the event that the player carrying it might be lynched or night killed. It could be that simple. The prospect of scum getting a two-fer at some point going forward isn't a fun one, but town is still in a strong position.

I have redacted the name of my Mason brother on the off-chance that I may be premature in exposing our blessed and sacred Masonry. However, I am sure his or her name will be revealed before the end of toDay.
