good even everyone!
<== Passes a round of O SHIT the game started and I have 15 minutes before the end of day!
a) I can pretend that I did see it and post nothing. b) I can read everything and post nothing c) I can reply to posts as I read them.
I choose option 3
For clarification I AM TOWN ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I am placing the following vote. Once I make this vote I will not change it for the rest of the day.
Vote: Archangel
Oh... It has been a busy couple days on the home front.

I am placing the following vote. Once I make this vote I will not change it for the rest of the day. Vote: Archangel Hmmm..."will not change it"? That's a bit final and non-participatory. Anything we can do change your mind? Can you vote for anyone else today?

As you can see, my only chance of success is to predict lynch winners. However, what I realize is that as soon as I start placing my extra votes, everyone is going to be very suspicious of what is going on and switch their votes around, avoiding any possible candidate I might choose. Hence, my decision to claim. For full disclosure, I was unexpectedly busy this weekend and did not cast my extra vote. Since I'm not modkilled for missing my mandatory vote window, I'll assume that means that I'll get to use my power tomorrow (I hope?) So, I'm making Townies this offer. In exchange for my life, I'll do the following: So like Moley's claim - there is something you could have done on D1/N1 to prove it - but you forgot to submit a mandatory action - with no penalty?

Looking over fluidruid's claim, I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt, especially as it would be easy enough to just claim town politician with quirk. I think the following two rules are probably in there because of it. - Nights are fluff only, with following caveats:
- Players may claim a role, and subsequent discussion of that claim will be allowed.
- Players may claim a result of their own actions, and subsequent discussion of that claim will be allowed.
- There are undoubtedly going to be Voting Shenanigans during this game (see the Role List).
I don't think the wincon as claimed is against the town or scum. It just requires fluiddruid to fulfill the criteria or lose in her own right. Of course, if the scum NK her now, she will lose outright, if the claim is accurate. That would be the penalty for not casting a vote on N1.

Hence, my decision to claim. I presumed that it [the extra vote] would show up in the vote count (at least if the person managed to garner another vote) though I doubt it would have been assigned to me. As I previously stated, I didn't think it possible to win under my conditions if extra votes started popping up on certain candidates. So you claimed because you were afraid people would avoid voting the candidates who had extra votes but you don't actually know if it would be apparent to anyone else? I agree that the votes would most likely appear but it's not obvious from your claimed PM. One more question: Can you place your first vote on yourself?

Will we see any more posts from you toDay? Are you actively playing or are you going to drive-by post once a Day?

Looking back through Day 1, the following took place. I had given gnarlycharlie and BillMc as examples of players who had made 'complex' statements, which might be an attempt to thwart a potential lie-detector. Since charlie has since clarified his statement, Bill was next on my list. As for Ace093, I actually agree in principle with his desire to remain silent on the matter. I tend to play the game close to the vest with regards to my own role, so I can sympathize with his reluctance to reveal information "just because everyone else is doing it". That being said, there is a time to stand on principle, and there is a time to 'give' a bit. With several days remaining before Dusk, I think it remains to be seen which sort of time this is. I'm bothered by your phrase "there is a time to stand on principle, and there is is a time to 'give' a bit." You seem to be discounting the possibility that ace just doesn't want to lie. In other words, you seem to know what ace would say (i.e., that he is town) and think he just doesn't want to go along with the crowd. vote Suburban Planktonfollowed by storyteller with the following. Though, if ace is indeed Town, squink's point regarding Plankton is compelling, too. So Suburban Plankton, metallicsquink, storyteller, any comments on the above?

Another something that caught my eye was this drive by vote from Meeko. So the vote leader is Ace based on the following : wow ... even if their is a lie detector or such in the role is it a good idea to state who you are this early in the game??? will it keep you alive longer??? i am just gong to play as usual and not claim who i am. i am just going to keep reading to understand where everyone is coming from i do agree that some of the major roles and the scum need to be found first so the hunt begins and still no one has voted... There is also discussion on Pinkies based on lack of participation. So for me it comes down to one or the other of these. I haven't placed a vote yet. But I see something else: Who are you and why aren't you letting us know where you are??? do you have a scum role to hide or something??? [[This is a cut and paste from Ace. I suck at quoting over here.]] As far as I can tell, Ace is asking for a claim, but not offering one. Vote AceI could offer reasons but I will let Hannibal Suffice : Quid pro quo Clarice. It seems very lopsided for you to ask, and not offer. Pinkies is absent but there is a mechanic in place for that. Unless there is a reason we shouldn't give him benefit of the doubt? This took place after ace903 had claimed town, but at the time, both Pinkies and Paranoia had been pretty much MIA since the start of he game. paranoia doesn't get a mention above though and it seems as though Meeko is just looking for a reason to get a safe vote down somewhere. From what ace903 was posting at Captain Pinkies, it would be difficult to call it a request for a roleclaim, so using it as a reason to vote makes no sense. Meeko, do you want to come and explain this vote a little bit further because it's looking just a little bit scummy.

A few comments on fluid's claim:
Firstly, I don't understand why he's claiming now. Secondly, as someone has already pointed out, he's claiming after having "forgotten" to do anything Night 1 which means we have no confirmation of his action. Although, knowing he can manipulate votes does not confirm his alignment. And that brings me to my third point which is that I've never heard of a mad bomber that is also a survivor.

I was making more of a distinction between a survivor (i.e., non-win-stealing) versus PFK (win-stealing) and maybe I'm using the wrong terms. In any event, do we really think that fluid is not a win-stealer?

I don't think squink's point regarding me was the least bit compelling, so I disagree with story. What is it that you would like to know? I felt that ace's behavior made her seem like a newbie player who was 'taking a stand' that was detrimental to her survival.

I voted for Pinkies Yesterday because I didn't get a strong Scum vibe from anyone, so I placed a 'policy-vote' on the guy who signed up for the game and didn't bother to show up to play. I voted for Pinkies today because when he did finally make an appearance yesterday, he didn't even take the time to post anything of substance, then he did manage to participate in the Night thread, but was again absent come Dawn. Maybe that's a 'meta-game' vote, but I didn't have a better candidate at the time I made it. And at this point I'm sticking with that vote pending some explanation of his "here's my vote, with no explanation of my reasoning, and by the way I'm not going to change it" vote.

Regarding fluiddruid's claim:
I don't see any reason, assuming he is being truthful about the mechanics of his role, for it to be win-stealing. He is a third-party, and wins if he 'predicts' the lynches successfully. So if we believe him, then I see no reason why we shouldn't let him stick around for the moment. We can evaluate his play on an ongoing basis, and decide what to do with him as we go along.
The problem is: I'm not sure I believe him at this point. The role itself sounds plausible enough, and sounds like something SisC might create, but I'm bothered by the apparent lack of a Mod-Penalty for his failure to act last Night. Now, it's possible that said penalty would not be apparent to the rest of us, but it is troubling that it doesn't seem to be at all.

My mistake regarding your vote yesterDay. And so I guess I'm even more confused by your comment about how everyone who voted for ace yesterDay should be voting for pinkies toDay "for the exact same reason." Above you are saying that you are voting him toDay for non-participation but below you also mention his alignment claim. He remains the only player who has not made a definitive statement regarding his alignment (simply saying "TOWN" doesn't qualify). Also, he managed to post twice during the 48 hours that comprised Night 1, equaling his total contribution for Day 1. If he manages to make some actual contribution to the game Today, then I may reconsider. It seems to me that every person who ended Day 1 with a vote on ace because she refused to state her alignment throughout most of the Day should currently be voting for Pinkies for exactly the same reason. Am I completely off base here?

My mistake regarding your vote yesterDay. And so I guess I'm even more confused by your comment about how everyone who voted for ace yesterDay should be voting for pinkies toDay "for the exact same reason." Above you are saying that you are voting him toDay for non-participation but below you also mention his alignment claim. Regarding "the people who voted for ace should be voting for Pinkies": A number of people voted for ace093 Yesterday for the stated reason that she refused to state her alignment for a potential Lie-detector to be able to evaluate. My point was that Captain Pinkies had also failed to state his alignment, so by the same logic those people should be voting for him, but weren't (with the exception of Ed), and I was wondering why. I voted Pinkies Yesterday for non-participation. I voted him Today for continued non-participation (2 end-of-Day posts notwithstanding), and for his maybe-intended-as-an-alignment-claim-or-maybe-not statement of "TOWN". And I'm still voting him because of his drive-by vote Today and his announcement that he's not going to change his vote, noway, nohow, with no further explanation.

I am placing the following vote. Once I make this vote I will not change it for the rest of the day. We've one 3rd-party with a special voting mechanic and one player (3rd P?; PFK?) with a posting restriction. Which are you, 3rd P or PFK? Which is your special mechanic, voting or posting? Is there any pro-Town reason not to ever consider changing your vote? Is there any reason, pro-Town or otherwise, to announce that fact? I suspect Captain Pinkies is 3rd P rather than Scum, but unless he makes a full confession and agrees to cooperate, as fluiddruid has, I think he needs to be Lynched. In the absence of any obvious Scum, we may as well Lynch him toDay.
