As they walked off together, Alice heard the King say in a low voice, to the company generally, `You are all pardoned.' `Come, THAT'S a good thing!' she said to herself, for she had felt quite unhappy at the number of executions the Queen had ordered.
Much as at the Queen's croquet party that day, there were a great many executions ordered last Night.

I came here all ready to post my reasons for voting Colby on D2 and am just a little shell shocked at all the nighttime deaths, especially after no NKs on N1 Same here. I had made a whole word document with all his postings, now... I was also going to question Fluid on her actions or should I say lack of actions. It's past 9PM here and I have to get my 3yr old to bed and then me. Work tomorrow. I will be back on tomorrow morning. RIP Colby, ED, and Fluid

I'll still post my reasons for voting Colby (even though obviously my suspicions were misplaced) since I don't like leaving a vote out there with no reasons behind it.
I found Colby suspicious for the following reasons:
post 102 where he's pleading with the scum not to NK him on N2 (guess they didn't listen to you...) - just seemed a weird thing to do
post 103 where he says he looks scummy (just struck me as odd)
post 157 - where he talks about his game 2 being eye opening - had been planning to ask him what was so eye-opening and how he had planned to use that experience in this game
post 176 - where he says lynching pinkies would help scum (how does he know it helps scum?)
post 237 - says we have a silencer and jack of all trades. (when i originally decided to vote him, I thought this was suspicious, although upon re-reading it, but before i just found out he was town, I thought it actually seemed more like a bad assumption on his part, which is how he explained it later)
post 240 - he talks about his vote on Paranoia (me) but the comment didn't really make sense, so seemed like he was trying to give a reason for voting Paranoia (me), but reasoning was weak. He again talks about his "insight" from game 2 and I wanted to ask him about this
post 279 - "Well, since I am going to be night killed on Night 2 (due to the trend that I always die at night the first chance that SCUM get to night kill) I'm going to go through everyone and put down my thoughts about everyone. This may take awhile, since I didn't take notes on Day 1" - this seemed an odd statement - scum presumably did have a chance to NK on night 1 and failed. But maybe he knew something town didn't? Also, he never followed up with any analysis (stated 40 minutes later in post 284 that he had given up trying to analyze)
So, those were the things I had found suspicious/scummy from D1 and D2, although as I was putting them together, they didn't seem to be the greatest reasons in the world to be voting for someone (although, there wasn't anyone else, besides maybe ArchAngel, that I had found scummy at the time I voted Colby, and I was very pressed for time to get a vote out there, since I don't like not voting, and there had been 1 request for me to vote from M Haye)

And that's why third-parties shouldn't claim early. Sorry to see you go, fluid, but I would guess that whoever our Vig is decided they couldn't leave a third-party alive.

Now, for 1 theory as to why Colby got voted off. In the last game we played (everafter), he made some sort of comment about how he hoped he didn't get NK'd on N1 (and it might have also said he hoped he didn't get voted off so he could help town find scum, or something like that, but I really can't remember too well because this was weeks ago). Anyway, I didn't find anything about that comment that said "power role", but he did in fact end up getting NK'd N1 and he was the town cop.
In this game, he made a similar comment, which I just quoted above (#102 from D1). This may have led scum to think that he again had some kind of power role.
That's one theory anyway.
Anyone want to list some ideas on how 3 people might have gotten killed in N2? I'm thinking fluiddruid might have gotten killed by power town role or something, since she was pretty unpopular among some folks after her claim. And then maybe Ed and Colby were the result of scum and a SK, or scum might have gotten 2 NKs or I'm sure there are many other possibilities....

It sucks that we lost the cop (any chance we might have a backup? It's a large game). He put an early vote on Pinkies, Yesterday, and then never moved it, so I guess he didn't find scum on Night 1. Might be worthwhile going through his posts to see if he breadcrumbed anything about any investigations. After quick look at his posts on page 1 I didn't really see anything yet. Also, I would note that colby was vanilla but wasn't a generic $number of $suit. Not only that, but I don't even remember a character by that name. Maybe Alice's sister? Idunno. It doesn't ring any bells. There are just so many possibilities... Vigilante, serial killer, delayed kill, extra kill, death-by-mechanic (vig suicide, e.g.), and more. Same goes for the lack of kills on Night 1. Without more information, we can't yet narrow things down too much.

I had a theory about Colby, so I posted it. I don't have any theories on Ed. Doesn't mean I think scum NK'd Colby and not Ed - just means I'm not creative enough to think of a theory for each of them

Vote Colby11
By way of explanation I offer the following instructions, that I received in a PM.
-
Your Vote has been purchased. You must vote for colby11 in your first post of the Day (whether said post includes other information is up to you), whether or not colby11 has survived the Night.
Additionally, you may not change your vote once it has been placed.
If your first post of the Day does not include this vote, and/or if you attempt to change your vote, you will accrue TWO Final Votes per offense.

R.I.P. Ed, Colby and Fluid. Hope to play with all of you again in a future Mafia game. I looked through Special Ed's Day 2 posts for a possible breadcrumb; here's what I saw: His very first post was "Curiouser and curiouser", A curious post but with no special meaning apparent to me. His second post included "for Pete's sake." Another curious unnecessary phrase, again with no breadcrumb apparent to me. Then there's this: Lie detection ... For example, ... 2. Septimus is Town ... 2. and 3. Should return "Unknown If "Septimus is Town" might be interpreted as crumb, would the "should return Unknown" cancel the effect? (And why would Ed waste an Investigate on harmless old septimus, anyway? ) Could the following certify BillMc? It's Day 2! *runs up and gives Bill a big hug Finally, there was a pro- Moley post: ... And, unlike Moley, I'm somewhat suspicious of people who seemed to be more certain that Ace wasn't Scum. Although, to be honest, Moley actually had reasoning to back up his assertion so he's not included in that group. I've almost no experience with bread-crumbing, so hope experienced players will comment.

3 kills. making up for lost time are we, people? this requires some thinking. with the unusual role variations in this game, it's difficult to say what roles are out there. based on what others have said and my initial thoughts, i would guess: 1. Fluid - vigged by someone who prefers not to have 3rd party players in the mix 2. Colby - posted about hoping not to be NKd. may have been suspected of having a power role 3. Ed - may have been a scum kill to take out an experienced player or was caught breadcrumbing Vote Colby11

Colby is dead. did you bother to ask the mod what happen now? the vote is invalid. It's Day 2! *runs up and gives Bill a big hug Bloody hell - it's Day 3 - is it real or am I dreaming? you made it to Day 3 in Everafter too.

Well, I had planned on coming in here toDay to make a case against colby and also question Ed on his strange play (I don't know if you all noticed but despite being the highest poster yesterDay, he didn't say much of anything. It wasn't like him at all. I assumed he was laying low because he was scum but shows what I know!).
I was also wondering about fluiddruid and was very curious to see what she was going to do with her extra vote.
My suspicions of Archangel have not diminished but I do want to take a look at others again toDay. Since my re-read of Day 2 focused mostly on fluid, Ed and colby, I have to go back and re-re-read.

I wonder how much of Fluiddruid's claim was true: I thought it obvious that Fluiddruid should announce his Night-time vote in the Night thread to help confirm his role; he didn't; and I would be very suspicious now ... were he not too dead to matter. Then again, Meeko's voting Colby; maybe I'll vote Fluid. ;D

Good morning all!
I am not sure what to think about Meeko Voting for Colby, kind of seems like a waster vote, eh?
I am in class for most of the day so I will be on and off. I am going to go back through Ed's post to see if there is anything that can shed some light on things.
Going to go get coffee!!!!

I feel like in a game that has been this active, there is really no reason for the low post counts for many of the players so I started looking at who has low post counts for both Days 1 and 2. I looked at Rysto first since he had the second lowest post count on Day 1 (pinkies had the lowest) and the lowest on Day 2.
Day 1: 147: "Just checking in to say that am I following the game. Also, I am Town. I should be back with substantive comments tonight." 174: In response to Colby asking if Moley has “some sort of power role”: "There is absolutely no reason for Moley to answer that at this point in the game." 243: "So, I'm a bit weirded out to see an experienced player make this mistake, just a couple pages after somebody else said the same thing. molefan, there's no guarantee that a hypothetically scum Ace could have gotten advice from other scum before the end of the Day. But for some reason, you have it in your head that she could have, even after story went after Archangel for saying the same.
I know that there's been a fair amount of discussion on the value of PIS -- in fact, I think that I I was the original subject of that discussion -- but this is the best I have right now.
Vote molefan" 312: Responds to Moley that in his experience, scum may not be able to talk during the Day
That is everything on Day 1. Not much substance there, despite his statement that he would post something substantial. I question why he voted Moley for the same reasons that storyteller voted Archangel. Why not vote Archangel, then?
Day 2: 18: fluff about another game 186: "Sorry, guys. I've been trying to keep up with the game and mostly been failing miserably. I don't have a lot of coherent thoughts yet -- I think that I'm going to have to re-read the thread again."; comments about how he understands that Moley wants to play; "Oh, and Pinkies? The way that you've gone about today has been counterproductive for yourself(whatever your alignment) and for Town. You could have avoided a lot of suspicion if you'd just been clear from the start that your vote had been compelled."
Here he says he is going to re-read the whole thread again but as you can see from subsequent posts, if he did re-read the thread he didn't post much analysis on the Day.
280: Discusses pro-scum versus anti-town (not the same thing); "pinkies may be anti-town but he is also hurting himself and therefore not likely to be scum; I'm being hit by a double whammy of having little time to devote to the game along with few posts that have stuck out to me as being worthy of comment. I know full well that you all need to see content out of me in order to evaluate my alignment, and I will do my best to provide you all with that."
More promises of content and the underlined statement really struck me. If you cannot find posts worthy of comment, you are not paying enough attention.
297: more anti-town versus pro-scum discussion; "@story: I officially acknowledge your argument, and I'm going to start thinking about that." 321: more anit-town versus pro-scum discussion and a vote on guiri for this: "More of the same. How has Pinkies displayed scum motivation by doing this? I'm really suspicious that while ostensibly building a case against Pinkies, really you've just listed off a series of really frustrating things that Pinkies has done. I think that you're trying to get people annoyed at Pinkies so they'll vote him off."
Rysto doesn't come back to defend this vote when guiri responds.

Yes, I noticed that - and it seemed an odd thing for the mod to say. The Mod would know if colby11 was going t wake up dead? I would think that yes, the Mod would know that. Generally all of the Night Actions have to be in before the Mod starts sending out 'result' PMs, so she would have known that a) colby was killed b) Meeko's vote had been purchased and placed on colbyNow, whether or not the Mod would insert that last phrase into the PM is a different question entirely. It could be that she did so in order to pre-emptively answer the PM that was almost certain to come saying " colby11 is dead...do I still have to vote for him?" Or it could be that Meeko is lying about having received such a message. I'm leaning toward the former in this case, for this reason: Meeko could be risking that nobody else's vote had been purchased...which seems an awfully big risk to take for no return (as Meeko doesn't get any Town cred out of this that I can see). Or Meeko could be certain that nobody's vote was purchased because the Vote-buyer is Scum and did not act (or acted on one of the dead players). But again, I don't see any return on the action for him as an individual or for the Scum as a team, so it seems an unnecessary risk.

Yes, I noticed that - and it seemed an odd thing for the mod to say. The Mod would know if colby11 was going t wake up dead? In thinking about the progression of the night actions maybe the "stealing" of votes happened prior to the slaying of Colby and because the changing of votes or simply voting for someone else carries a vote penalty (we saw this in Cap Pinkies case). Meeko had no choice to vote for the dead versus voting for alive players and getting the penalty assessed. Metallicsquink brought up the issue of low posters, there are a couple in that catagory. Rysto and MHaye. I will have to go back and read what MHaye has posted, I at least think that it has been of more substance than Rysto. Gnarlycharlie is being reserve as well...

@sisc - Is there a progression in which the night actions happen (i.e stealing of votes happens prior to the NKs)?
I guess it all depends on who the action is on and who is doing the action. In this case Meeko is being forced to vote and that requires no action from Colby, which his NK would effect.
I have never been in a game where a dead person got a vote, any of you?
