Assuming you are Town, yes. But if you're both Scum, it would prove nothing.
Ok then, would you prefer it if I sent a message to the mods tonight for moley to try and listen in to?
Of course, the problem is that the scum may decide to kill the person who it is suggested should send a message, just so moley cannot be confirmed either way.
Ok, I said there was more coming up, and here it is.
Let's get this out of the way first though: I have admittedly done everything possible to stop the lynch of someone who is now known scum, and tried to throw
Lightfoot under the bus in the process. Whether I was right or wrong about
Lightfoot remains to be seen. Obviously I was wrong about
Meeko. You know now
why I did it, or at least why I say I did it (which happens to be the truth, but obviously most of you can't know that for certain). Seems to me that the best way to prove my good intentions would be to catch some scum, so here we go.
First of all, I think that it's very likely that a scummy player jumped on the Meeko bandwagon fairly late on
Day 3. Three people voted Meeko in quick succession:
Ginger,
Septimus, and
GnarlyCharlie. (The fourth player,
Dirx, is now confirmed town, which simplifies things.) To an inexperienced or opportunistic scum, voting
Meeko at this juncture might look like a tempting way to lose some suspicion. So for now, I'm going to go with this theory and see where it takes us. Of the three late
Meeko votors whose alignments aren't known, let's assume that one of them is scum. Which one?
First,
Ginger.
Ginger is a special case because 1) I was suspicious of her early on, then thought her insane town, but are now reconsidering; and 2) because she voted
Meeko immediately after I put a second vote on
Lightfoot. Two possibilities there if
Ginger is scum: either she didn't see my vote (which is possible, given the short time between posts) or
Ginger,
Lightfoot and
Meeko are all scum, and
Ginger wanted to make sure the right person (the person who didn't submit a night action on N1 maybe?) was sacrificed.
If
Ginger is town, of course, she legitimately thought
Meeko was a good target for lynch. Nothing odd about that.
A couple of points:
1)
Ginger has always got along well with
Lightfoot. (I envy her; personally I find that Lightfoot has steam coming out of his/her ears whenever he/she talks to me.)
2)
Ginger has been fairly consistently suspicious of
GnarlyCharlie and
Merestil Haye, largely on the grounds of activity. Given their quick votes on
Meeko on Day Three and
Ginger's frequent suspicions of
Gnarly, I find it difficult but not impossible to believe that the Gs are scum together. By contrast, there doesn't seem to be much suspicion on
M'Haye, so
Ginger could be distancing here. Again, gut says that whether either one of these two is scum, it's unlikely that
both are.
3)
Ginger seems to accept most of what
Squink says in a fairly unquestioning way. There's definitely trust there, or at least a great lack of suspicion. I find it comparatively easy to see
Ginger and either
Squink or
Lightfoot as scum-buddies.
Ginger's interactions with
Meeko are interesting. She never even mentions him before Day 3. Then she brings his name up before the bandwagon's started in an offhand way: "I am not sure what to think about Meeko Voting for Colby, kind of seems like a waster vote, eh?" Her next posts are agreement with some idiot who thought
Meeko was probably town: "As for
Meeko, I do see the point that
Moley made that why choose someone died?" but then, much later in the day,
Ginger votes
Meeko because of the manner in which he has defended himself. (She also explains it fairly well, for me.)
Final thought:
Ginger thought
Ace came off as town, voted me back on Day One (but too late for the vote to matter, thankfully) and was also openly suspicious of
Paranoia.
My thoughts: Ginger may be scum with Lightfoot or Squink, but probably isn't scum with Ma'at, GnarlyCharlie, or Merestil Haye. I find it very difficult to get a "read" on her due to our playstyles and ways of thinking, which are obviously very different; and I'm loath to rule her out based on her attitude towards Meeko - especially given that she didn't mention him. Gut says town but the facts could point to scum. I'd like a better read on her before I vote or dismiss her.Ok, now
Septimus.
On Day One, he voted
Guiri and
CIAS. There seems to have been constant suspicion and conflict between him and these two. I don't think
Guiri is scum and I'm debating
CIAS.
There's been a lot made of his mentioning
Ed as investigator, but I think it was a natural thing to say -
Ed was the one who spoke to him, and
Septimus was responding that Ed might have to KNOW, if he was town, what a person's role was in order to get a lie-detector result.
Another significant post on Day One was when
Septimus voted five people at once. Now if I were scum (note: I'm not) and I was going to do something like that, I'd throw in one scummy player into the mix; and the only real possibility there is
Paranoia / Ma'at.
On Day Two, he made the assumption that
Cap'n Pink was either PFK or third-party because of the fact that he had a voting restriction, not thinking that the restriction may have been the result of a role that wasn't his own.
The real meat comes in a post where he says he has no problems with Fluid's claim and says this: "As usual, I find it easier to sense Town-tells than Scum-tells. I have weak suspicions about the people who were weakly suspicious of Honest Moley, but don't sense a lot of other Scum tells." Given that we now know Fluid wasn't scum, it seems to me that this indicates that if
Septimus is scum, the others were likely more sceptical of Fluid's claim than
Septimus was. This is a lynch option that the scum would want to keep open. Given that
Meeko was anti-Pinkies, this seems to be a point in Septimus' favour.
Septimus is also pro-
Moley and pro-
Archangel. Since I know I'm town and I think
Archangel is also, this is a point in his favour on both counts.
Septimus has a long-running feud with Squink in this game. He doesn't fully justify his vote but says that
Squink "feels" scummy. Well I can't entirely justify my suspicion either, but looking at
Squink's posts from the early-mid part of Day Three, I'd agree.
Finally we have this:
"Then again, Meeko's voting Colby; maybe I'll vote Fluid. ;D "
Ok, if you're scum, you don't specifically
point out how you're differentiating your vote from another scum, unless your name is
Zuma. This to me is a MASSIVE town (or at least not-scum) tell - I just do not see
Septimus making a statement like this if he's scum and knows
Meeko is also.
Moley's thoughts: Septimus isn't scum. I'd be much more suspicious of people voting Septimus than I would of Septimus himself. Now,
GnarlyCharlie. First thing I find interesting is this post:
It's Day 2!
*runs up and gives Bill a big hug
ha ha ha! welcome to Day 2.
It was speculated by
Storyteller after
Ed's reveal that this might have been breadcrumbing. What I want to know is why
Charlie pointed it out?
Second thing: I was wrong, earlier, about him being a late
Ace votor. Actually he's an
early Ace votor who didn't unvote. I especially don't like it given these two posts:
I do not think that
ACE is scum. I really think it is a newbie that is not sure what to do.
why isn't
Ace claiming? it's not like she hasn't been told to do so. even as a relative newbie she has seen what a claim is. i don't understand why she isn't making the effort. it makes me feel that she's either scum or 3rd party.
I don't understand how
Ace "not making the effort" is supposed to be a tell either way.
And:
i agree with
Lightfoot.
Ace, if there's something you can say in your defense, you should do so. the nearest ones with votes all have 1 vote. voting for
Cap isn't enough.
i assume you mean
Honest Moley.
okay, so we have 1 person with 7 seven votes and 7 persons with 1 vote. i find this a bit strange. i thought the right play if you didn't believe that the lynch leader was scum was to look at all you believed was scum and choose the one where your vote would count.
While I agree with this,
Gnarly seems to find nothing at all odd in the fact that the lynch leader has no competing bandwagon whatsoever.
Towards the end he rides
BillMC a bit, and asks for his reasons for suspecting
Squink, Lightfoot, Rysto and MHaye; but then votes
Meeko because of Meeko's refusal to name his suspects. Completely reasonable if Gnarly is town there.
Gnarly's only real post regarding
Lightfoot: "Whatever you are, you're funny." Actually
Gnarly's lack of posts on
most people is a problem for me, and possibly intentionally so.
Moley's thoughts:
GnarlyCharlie looks like a big suspect. If it's between Gnarly and JBG for the hypothesized scummy late Meeko votor, I'd pick GnarlyCharlie.Final thoughts on
Meeko. He was on both the
Ace and the
Pinkies wagons. I think that, going on the idea of scum differentiating themselves in terms of votes, there probably won't be another scum on
both wagons. I would expect to see maybe one, possibly two more scum on each wagon though.
Meeko FoS'd two of the people voting him (
Bill and
Angel) - not really anything to go on there. He's said remarkably little over the three Days he was in the game, which I guess was a clue in itself. Unfortunately it doesn't help much when picking scum candidates: the two people he's been most obviously "against" are both proven town already.
Overall final thoughts:
I have a LOT more to do here with regards to scumhunting. In particular, I want to go through
Ma'at's posts again, take a strong look at
CIAS, and go back over what
Lightfoot has said. I feel as though I've been largely ignoring these three, despite my recent suspicions of
Lightfoot.
But for now, I think
Septimus is town and ONE of
Ginger and
Gnarly are scum, but probably not both. My pick of the two would be
Gnarly. However, whichever of those two is scum, one other person shines through as a big suspect, based on their posts on Day Three and their suitability for being scum with my other main suspects. In particular, THIS:
A lurker indeed. At least the few posts that
MHaye has had some substance. These don't have much of anything.
meeko did tell us in his post 156 that his work schedule is hectic, but I definitely need to hear more from him toDay.
Strongly feels like "distancing".
And what the hell, BillMC's been right once before.
So for that reason,
vote: MetallicSquink.
