There was a commotion behind Sam's Stop N' Go, as three (or four, as some witnesses would have it), men had gathered around the dumpster of the only gas station in town.
"Okay you have that end right? Okay one, two, three --"
One of the men fumbles, and drops something, a dismembered cow mayhaps but a human corpse more likely, which lands on the ground with a wet, meaty thud.
"Come on. We don't have all the time in the world to be dickin' out behind here. Just get the body in the dumpster and lets skedaddle."
And so they did.

Morning.
One of the town's 4 policeman and the coroner examine the scene behind Sam's Stop N' Go, with the body dragged out after taking a photograph and noting every little footprint.
The men behind this were not through.
Although they had burned the victim's fingerprints off and mutilated his face beyond recognition, they had left the body clothed, and his pockets unturned.
And in the wallet, the identity of the badly mutilated man was ascertained.
The Don, Mafia Godfather and somewhat decent guy, murdered pre-game. He had a small farm house nearby, a perfect (or so it seemed) get away from his duties back home in the Big City.
Someone was making a power play in town, and it wouldn't be long before it would erupt into a bloody gang war.
But as it were, there were 12 (or was it 16?) witnesses of the event.
They were to be brought downtown to the town hall as a sort of meeting place. There they were to be interrogated and based on their reports the most likely suspects were to be taken away and investigated, and hopefully tragedy and bloodshed to be averted.
As it were, the perpetrators were amongst the group, and were taking keen notes on who saw the most, and therefore who was the most dangerous to them in their power play, and who they could frame.
Alright, the rules are taken from elsewhere. Read them, for there may be things you are not used to.
Rules:
1. Massclaims are not advised, and I have taken precautions against them. They will not help, and they will be kind of unfun, so don't do it.
2. Days will be up to 120 hours (5 days) long. Nights will be NO MORE than 48 hours - if all actions are in, day will start early (and will still end at 8 PM CST on the appropriate day.)
3. When voting, remember to bold your votes! You do NOT need to specify unvotes. If I make a mistake, feel free to correct me.
4. ALL COMMUNICATION WILL BE DONE THROUGH QUICKTOPICS. There will be no reason to PM me about anything. THIS INCLUDES IRC.
5. IF YOU EDIT OR DELETE POSTS YOU WILL FACE THE MOD FIRING SQUAD!
5.5. DON'T SHARE QUICKTOPICS. EVEN IF YOU ARE COALIGNED AND W/E.
5.5.5. DON'T TALK TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE GAME EITHER. Yeah, I know, I know. Shush.
6. No ciphers. They're a distaction that only tests people's ability to crack ciphers. HOWEVER, if you have an uncrackable code, you MAY post in it.
7. After you die you can make one post that cannot contain any information about the game.
8. You may not post in the thread at night.
9. There may be some minor bastardry, but no roles that change other's alignment, no jesters, none of that.
10. There may be multiple factions!
11. Every player has to make at least one post per day. If they will not be able to make a post on that day, I will inform the players in the day start post.
12. Play to your win condition, always.
13. Karkat Rule: No faking day-activations of anything, on pain of modkill. There may or may not be day powers!
14. Karkat Rule 2: If a day-activation of something is used stop posting, and wait for the mod to resolve the action.
15. Don't copy/paste from QTs, thank you.
Regarding Votes and Lynches:
Lynching is by majority - that is day ends at half + one.
Soft lynches are a thing, and will require roughly a quarter of the available votes on a player.
Votes, unvotes and day power activations should be in the following format:

This is a game for 12-16 players, and roles may be added or changed as the player count increases.
