Ok, seriously, there are no Vanilla roles so everyone has a power role. There are 4 factions (glad you are not in SA). We can vote for a no lynch on D1. I don't like a no lynch but maybe some of you do where the fuck did this come from? did i miss a page? no lynch in this set up is fucking horrible no matter what your alignment. escpecially if you are town. seriously, wtf.

Based on Ed's figures from previous games, we can assume this (4%- 1 player; 20%- 5 players) Town is around half the number of players (so 12- 13 people) Wolves are between 20%-28% ( between 5-7 players) Cabal is between 12%-16%, (between 3-4 players) And Undead has anywhere from 9% to 16% (between 2 to 4 players) Adding it up, the minimum total is 22 and the maximum total is 28 (and we have 25 players), so these numbers are close to what they actually are. No way to actually speculate on how many of each there are, because there are so many combinations atm. I'm not sure whether having just 2 Undead makes the game unbalanced in their favor or not, honestly. oh fucking lord. he drank the kool aid.

so, do you think he might be of a Scum faction and their numbers might be off from the norm? May I ask why analyzing the numbers that YOU posted means that I am scum? Seriously, I took what you had, and tried to apply the basic setup (since this is game 5 of a series) to this game, to see if we can figure out the player ratios.

So Pleo, can we get a vote count?
And where are the votes, everybody? We no-lynch by default if at least 13 people don't vote for the same person. Yeah, I think Ed is going overboard on his votes, but at least he's voting. We have about 35 hours before Day ends (Noon PST Tuesday at the latest.). And if our potential lynchee claims, we need to have time to evaluate that claim and consider alternate targets. Which means we need to vote.

It's a zero-sum game, so No Lynch will have to favor some faction ... but which?
1. The Lynch is a main way for Town to counteract the Killing power of Wolves and Vampires. There's a 50-50 chance we kill one of our own, but at least we start getting information.
2. The Wolves may be eager to Lynch, at least in the early game: with the largest unifiable voting bloc they may be able to guide the vote away from Lynching one of their own. (If/when Freemasons are outed, Town will have a better chance of controlling the Lynch.)
3. I'd think Undead would be most eager to Lynch: they need dead bodies after all.
4. By process of elimination, the Cabal may be most happy if Day 1 leads to No Lynch.
Thus it might appear that, ranking from most happy to least happy about Day 1 No Lynch, the order is Cabal, Town, Wolves, Undead.
But I'm quite unsure of this. Comments?

I'd switch Wolves and Town--I think it's more important to Town that the lynch occurs, despite the fact that the Wolves can potentially control the vote early in the game. The info is completely necessary.
I'm a slow weekend poster because I generally post from an iPad or iPhone, and this is a three-day weekend. I'll do my best at some point today to drag out the laptop and get some votes down, especially since I'm currently a lynch leader for no reason other than Ed wanting to vote for everyone who already had a vote, and I had an extremely weak early vote placed on me.

Afternoon all, bit quiet isn't it. So, anyone interested in discussing a full role claim on Day 1 then? I know Pleonast has said that the game would not break if it was to occur, but I still don't believe it. ;D If there are any Vicars around, they might want to strongly consider claiming. The undead can't touch them and we don't want the Cabal or Wolves to unwittingly target them. Time for a change of playstyle, if it's good enough for Ed, it's good enough for me. Considering we can vote for everybody and that we need minimum, it's time to reverse the usual way of voting. Vote: 01. Mr Special Ed Vote: 02. Hoopy Frood Vote: 03. I find it strange that there seem to be a lot of people who say that they didn't request anything specific, and yet Ed claims he did, and did not get his first or second choices. I am assuming that someone is not telling the truth here. I trust Pleo when he said he would accomodate choices as best he could. So, if Ed is telling the truth, there are obviously some people who also requested Ed's first and second choices, and either we have not heard from them, or they are fibbing. Or, Ed is fibbing about his choices and/or role. For myself, I did not request any specific role or faction, but instead, said there were a few roles that I did not want to have. This is a really smudgy post btw. Pleonast has always said that not every role is guaranteed to be in the game and I would hazard a guess that if a person does choose one of those missing roles, then they are not going to get that role. To say that someone else would have that role instead or that Ed is lying is very misleading.

Sorry that I have not been on here much, I am on pain meds and have not taken on the battle to read some posts like Ed's long one or try to figure out numbers in the game. I find it strange that there seem to be a lot of people who say that they didn't request anything specific, and yet Ed claims he did, and did not get his first or second choices. I am assuming that someone is not telling the truth here. I'll be even more specific. I asked to be town first and a specific role second. I got both. So Pleo definitely seemed to give you the role you requested if they were available (at least, in my case he did...I can only speak for myself, however). Why tell everybody else this? No-one is going to believe you, in fact I'm more inclined to believe you are a scum faction and trying to pull the same schtick as last time, because no-one would do it twice in a row, would they.

I have been wondering about the players that did NOT get the specific role that they requested may be at a slight advantage. . I know that the role might not be in the game but if it is in the game and someone claims that particular role then the person who did not get it could think “hey, they are telling the truth” and either wipe them out or protect them. I am probably just doing a Flaky Jan thing again but I have been thinking about it and you can either shoot me down in flames or think about it yourself. It's an interesting point, if someone claims a role that is on the list of someone else who didn't get it. This could actually cause more problems if the person with the list was a member of the wolves or cabal because it would give them an idea of game setup above and beyond that which could be known to all and sundry. For it too work, it's likely that everyone who did not get their first choice is either a solo town role or undead. Oh and Unvote: Silver Jan

Sorry everyone, I was away all weekend, should have posted it in the "going to be away" thread but I thought I'd have more time to post. Also, I completely failed to notice that you were allowed to vote for multiple people when I read the rules first, so I've spent the last 10 mins reading the thread and just getting more and more confused I wouldn't assume a player who asked for Wolf last time will ask for it again. They might have done, though. So you're saying that Ed either did or did not ask for a Wolf role? I suppose at this point that's probably as good a basis for a vote as any other though, isn't it? It's an awful reason for a vote. Even the way you phrased it draws attention the fact that it's an awful reason for a vote. And from this, we can surmise that Burb is likely not a Necromancer. Fat lot of good that does us, of course. But it's an interesting potential data point. Actually, I was merely repeating Ed's own words: So either Ed listed among his choices a role that he cannot possibly be assigned, or he's not being entirely upfront with us. Shocking thought, isn't it? Ed was the one who pointed out that Zombie can't be assigned, so it looks like you're being overly nitpicky about something that was likely meant as hyperbole. Yes, I asked for a role I couldn't have above wolf. I really really really didn't want to be a wolf. I told Pleo that I'd rather be dead than be a wolf. You asked for a role you couldn't have above wolf? What do you mean? Mahaloth comes in after Suburban to say the same thing again. Plus the question itself is odd, Ed says, true or not, that he'd rather be dead than a wolf (lol for melodrama incidentally). Then Mahaloth either deliberately misunderstands, or is actually referring to one of Ed's earlier posts. I mean the explanation for the sentence he's questioning is literally the next sentence in Ed's post. Vote Mahaloth Vote Suburban Plankton

Also, last game some devious meta-gamers decided that based on his previous track record of asking for wolf roles, Ed was probably a wolf and decided to lynch him. Turns out they were right. My question is: dare we bet on red again? But this is an all power role game? Really? So every single person is submitting either a night or day action? I haven't played this game before, but isn't it always an all power game? And if you've played before, wouldn't you know that?

and since i am the vote leader getting close to the endofDay anyone want to do a better job of doing the cliff's note version of why i am getting voted.
boozy - i am being disruptive. imagine some lamer reason and i will listen. this is so lazy and defaultish that i just scratch my head and go whatthefuckever. fo course, this comes before i make even one post in the Day thread. disruption by silence boozy?
ed - i am being pre emptive in showing that i am being townie. another fucking tired old trope. i act scummy therefore i am scummy. i act townie therefore i am scummy. what's a poor old soul to do in the face of such iron clad reasoning.
catina - vote for everyone. good one catina. way to avoid accountability and still pursue a lynch of someone you would know that is not on your team. the shittiest vote thus far by a nose.
ginger - can't quite figure this one out. i'm fucking nasty as near as i can tell.
tell ya what with the above reasoning not town has no fucking chance. it's like when i take my kids to the horse races and let them pick out bets on their own. my little little kept picking these weird assed old nags that could barely finish the race. i finally asked her why she kept picking such crappy horses with no record of success. she liked the color of their silks. this is tongue in cheek for the real subtle challenged. and the fact that i feel compelled to add that shows my level of confidence in this crowd.
