I am clueless as to what is going on so I think... Pleonast~ bleached~ In one breath you say you have NO idea what's going on. And in the next sentence you vote With No Reason Please put some meat in that sandwich. There are a few pages in this Day- you've read them (right) Vote who you wish but share a reason.

NETA you are voting to remove a player from this game
You could take the time to tell them/us why?

I am clueless as to what is going on so I think... Pleonast Vote cassipietzI understand it is likely that this is just a confused newbie act, but this is the first post cassipietz made in Day 1. No reason is given, unless admittedly cluelessness can be counted as a reason.

Vote Pleonast
I am confused as why if you are town and have any special powers you would reveal it and make yourself a target?

Huh? What's it mean? Perfect Information Syndrome. It's when a scum player reveals that they have information a town player wouldn't have like the number of people on the scum team or which kill a particular day was the scum's.

Vote PleonastI am confused as why if you are town and have any special powers you would reveal it and make yourself a target? Pleonast has developed a very transparent playing style. Almost no one who plays the game regularly agrees with it but he's enamored of it.

OMGUS much? Pleonast you present the following as my "Opinion" 1.Scum MIGHT have to drink that wine if indeed you are Town. 2.Town is FORCED to drink this wine, regardless of your alignment. 3.You are taking away game space from other things that actually matter on Day 1. 4.You are being a Distraction. 5.You are making Noise. Which one of these was the Opinion again? I don't see it.

A "lurker" is a person who reads discussions on a message board but rarely or never participates actively. Some mafia players believe in the "lynch all lurkers" theory (meaning they vote to lynch the player who rarely participates in the discussion of the game). I generally do not lynch lurkers in Day 1. However, this is a big game and there are so many newbie players, and it is easy for a lurker to hide. To encourage participation, I am going to "watch" if there will be any lurkers. As a numbers guy I always use excel a lot. I have a google doc that counts the posts of all 60 players in the game and Idle Thoughts the MOD. docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhIF2QGffiNhdGZDS2RHczl3SlNYLXhzb3QyTWNPLVE#gid=0Everyone should be able to see it. Column A is the player name and column B is the total post number. If the link does not work let me know. Day 0 posts were counted, and I will update the Day 1 post count regularly. 1. I apologize for the loss of your spreadsheet, and the CPU of your computer in advance. I wasn't joking about that one thread that was 10% of my posting volume. And that was in a month's time. 2. This reminds me of Chronos' Voting Analysis program; It went down in flames every single time it was ran and subsequently used by Town in mafia games. --- In short Mafia falls into fuzzy logic that computers aren't good at.

Oh all this talk of nasty scum makes me nervous - my nickname is Skum (lovely eh!?) as my initials are SKM. But please know that I'm Skum with a 'k' and in this game I am definitely a townie!
Can someone please remind me how to put colour and bold in the text so that I can cast my vote. I read it somewhere but can't find it now - thanks!

Meeko, obviously it is either that (1) you truly (and wrongly) believe you have the ability to destroy a spreadsheet or a computer with your not-really-that-many posts, or that (2) you know you do not have the ability, but decide to lie about it. In fact, your "posting volume destroying spreadsheet/CPU" theory is a fallacy. Unless your posts can be stored without a computer/server/whatever device with a CPU, your posting volume can only be created and accessible to others with a working computer/device in which the CPU is still working. If you post so much that you can destroy a CPU, the posts would be all gone before I can even do a spreadsheet, and your posting volume becomes ZERO. Accordingly, no need to apologize for something you are incapable of doing. Do not worry about my spreadsheet or my CPU, you are not and will never be that good at destroying them.

... I'm wondering if most of the newbies are town, and more of the scum and power roles went to experienced players since they know what they're doing. This is probably an honest innocent reaction by a newbie "vanilla" Townie. ("vanilla" = has no special Power). But it's also something a newbie Scum might be tempted to write, hoping to look Townish. I think Pleonast does indeed have a power or at least is Town (why create a bandwagon knowing all of us n00bs who don't know who else to kill off would jump on it)... so i think I'd look closely at those who vote for Pleonast as possible scum....Or maybe that's just what he wants me to think, WIFOM and all that This seems very intelligent and experienced for a newbie. Ah - you can unvote. That makes sense now. Playing newbie card again. @ wombat99 - have you played mafia before, with different mechanics? I suspect wombat99 is an earnest, intelligent, innocent newbie. But even weak suspicions are hard to come by on Day 1, so I'll admit to a slight pinging sensation: Vote: wombat99

Re: the spreadsheet. If you navigate to the Marathon Mafia page and punch the blue number under the number of replies column and for the Day 1 thread, you should get a list of who made those replies, a post count for Day 1. I'm not sure you need to keep a speadsheet for just number of replies. Guiri, what did you think about SilverJan's comment? It seemed similar to Gnarly's to me. I just wonder why you chose to vote for Gnarly rather than Jan? Hello fellow Packratters. I should vote for Gnarly for being a former Packratter, I hadn't realised that you had stopped playing. The smudge was a joke!! Yuck on Pleo. Does anyone know what he claims when he is scum? Has he ever claimed when he is scum? Is there a link to this packratter thingie? Has the Wiki bit the dust? Suburban. Random.org?? Really? What kind of example is that? Has anyone played the card game Mafia? If so is this similar to it? If so I get it, if not well count me among the noobs in the dark lol I think so. You get a card instead of a PM telling you what your role/alignment is and then you vote for who to lynch and then close your eyes and put your head down while the scum decide who to kill? Vote: cassipietz I'll probably unvote when I better understand your reasoning for voting Pleo. To me, you look like scum trying to jump on the bandwagon to lynch an innocent Pleo. Perhaps if I understood why you thought he was scum, I'd agree with you. Susan, the easy way is (without spaces within the []'s and with spaces around name) [ vote] name [ /vote] and [ unvote] name [ /unvote] Remember Preview is your friend. The hard way is Vote: name and Unvote: name

There are some players who voiced their concerns about the spreadsheet being an outside the game communication tool, so I took it down. Sorry.

Yuck on Pleo. Does anyone know what he claims when he is scum? Has he ever claimed when he is scum? IIRC There was one occasion when Pleonast didn't claim and was scum, but always does so nowadays. My vote was initially for fun and to kick things off, as I was expecting Pleonast to claim town. I didn't actually see the Day 0 claim until guiri pointed out. However the claim was power role, not town, and just claiming a power role actually pings me regardless of what others may think.
