Susan, the easy way is (without spaces within the []'s and with spaces around name) [ vote] name [ /vote] and [ unvote] name [ /unvote] Remember Preview is your friend. The hard way is Vote: name and Unvote: name Thank you texcat. Vote: guiri Reasoning - the very early finger-pointing in posts 9 and 11. Also for the disrespect to the wonderful game of PackRat which brought many of us together.

I am sure there are some scummy scums hiding amongst the Pleonast voters.
Vote Meeko
His is the 3rd vote and it's amusing when he gets started on how Townie he is. I noticed that I am the 3rd vote on Meeko ;D
I am going to keep an eye on CAIS for trying to make a strong case on D1. I actually do get what you mean though, let's see what Pleo has to say for himself.

Well, this is much easier than I thought. My vote is for Pleonast. Huh? Care to explain any of that? Why is it easier than what you thought? What exactly are you finding easier? Why are you voting for Pleo? Did you see my vote on cassipietz? Unvote: cassipietz Vote: jm697mn To me, you look like scum trying to jump on the bandwagon to lynch an innocent Pleo. Perhaps if I understood why you thought he was scum, I'd agree with you.

No, because a brand new player claims to already see some indication of Scumminess and then asks a 'noob' question Touchet! We don't really know how many of the new players are as naive as we think to the game. There are ( dare I say it) other boards. I think starirain means they recognise the Packrat players names as I do myself ... I can see at least 6 people I know from the packrat game

Dude, Pleo is becoming the new Mahaloth, if he dies again on Day 1 in this game. I'm not sure I get what the votes on Pleo are all about. Of course, I was one of the few folks that did not vote him Day 1 in the Arkham game. What's the case/reason?

However the claim was power role, not town, and just claiming a power role actually pings me regardless of what others may think. This reminds me of a thought I had. I think Pleonast elevated his Alwaysclaim to include Power given the newbie mix. He's probably betting that a newer player wont go after a Unconfirmed* Power Town. *And as the older players know, if you are unconfirmed, taking a claim with a grain of salt would be too expensive.

Pleonast you present the following as my "Opinion" 1.Scum MIGHT have to drink that wine if indeed you are Town. 2.Town is FORCED to drink this wine, regardless of your alignment. 3.You are taking away game space from other things that actually matter on Day 1. 4.You are being a Distraction. 5.You are making Noise. Which one of these was the Opinion again? I don't see it. Because of Pleonasts OMGUS vote, I restated my reasons in a numbered list. The question was at him, but they are in fact reasons for my vote against him.

why ? He knows too much ,is an experianced player and will be one of the missleading ones . This sounds to me very much a reasoning that may backfire. When you vote someone for the reasons of "knowing too much" "being an experienced player" or "will be one of the misleading ones", did you provide any proof, particularly on the "will be one of the misleading ones" part? Unless you know something other players do not know (meaning you "know too much"), how can you be sure that the person you vote will mislead others more likely than other experienced players do? I do not plan to change my vote now, but I can see that the reasoning oldred used being applied to herself, only that the term "experienced player" being replaced by "newbie player".

What does OMGUS mean?
|
|
|
Post by Silver Jan on May 9, 2012 9:07:00 GMT -5
It means Oh My God U Suck. An OMGUS vote is usually a vote in retaliation to someone voting for you.

Post by Mahaloth on May 9, 2012 9:07:55 GMT -5
Oh my god you suck. It's when someone votes for another player because that player voted for them. Or when someone just kind of says, "You suck, I'm voting for you." Even though sucking does not equal scum.

For those who don't play packrat I feel an explanation is due. You are after all being very helpful to those of us who don't play this game. Basically, packrat is a game you play through facebook. But the person you call Idle Thoughts on here is currently running a Scavenger Hunt in which we all have to collect various items found within the game. However he also rather sneakily added as one of the items that we had to participate in this game. So here we all are - no idea what we are doing but up for the challenge.

Is the Pleo wagon basically because he claimed a power on Night Zero? If so, I don't agree with it at all. Why do the Scum's job for them? Let them worry about whether Pleo actually has a power or not -- there are plenty of other people we can focus on instead right now. If Pleo is still alive in, like, four Days, we can talk more about him then.
Put it another way: how stupid will we all feel if Pleo gets lynched on Day One and turns out to actually be a Town power role? Why would we ever knowingly put ourselves in that position?

<rubs hands together> who to lynch first...I think I'm seeing some sneaky scum in here already! Sorry for the noob question, but how long do we have to cast our vote? -400 Townie Cred Vote: starrirain
I agree with Ed that starrirain's post was scummy. It sounds like a scum trying to think of something to say for the sake of something to say, with a forcedly casual tone. Vote starrirain

When he's Town, guiri is one of the very best players on this site. Since most people, mathematically, are Townspeople, I think the downside to lynching guiri early when we have so little information about anyone far outweighs the upside of the likelihood that he'll be a scum.

My vote was initially for fun and to kick things off, as I was expecting Pleonast to claim town. I didn't actually see the Day 0 claim until guiri pointed out. However the claim was power role, not town, and just claiming a power role actually pings me regardless of what others may think. This looks completely like looking for justification for keeping a bad vote on someone. If I weren't already voting for meeko, I'd be voting for you.

So Gaderene, care to explain why you think voting for Pleonast is doing the scum's job for them? How can you know what side Pleonast is on, as you say that the Scum should worry about it and not the town? And why should we wait several Days before looking at Pleonast again? Just curious.

I cannot emphasize enough how bad an idea it is to lynch a claimed power role on Day One, even if you think that he might not be telling the truth about having a power.
