if you can find the player that said the thing about detectives yes
other target? suggestions? it would be best if we picked a player that Town might not want to kill already.= let them do that for us.

Vote count: starrirain - 13 votes (Mr Special Ed, colby11, Gadarene, septimus, Pleonast, mchlle71, dizzymrslizzy, lianne, richardbeckman, supermel, jmj697mn, annem, ascime) dizzymrslizzy - 6 votes (Suburban Plankton, wombat99, Silver Jan, Paranoia, cathi, starrirain) Pleonast - 6 votes (CatInASuit, BillMc, Meeko, cassiepietz, michelehunter, francescaj) Meeko - 5 votes (Inner Stickler, lauriern, amykb, patricia, annetastic) Suburban Plankton - 2 votes (Mahaloth, texcat) texcat - 1 vote (guiri) Guiri - 1 vote (Susan K Murphy) Mr Special Ed - 1 vote (oldred) cassiepietz - 1 vote (kagemoto) annetastic - 1 vote (allyjayne) michelehunter - 1 vote (Lightfoot) Lauriern - 1 vote (Hal) Gadarene - 1 vote (jerelijah) oldred - 1 vote (PhoenixPhyre)
+ lauriern changed to starrirain late Saving pleo is cool and all but don't put your head on the block to save a Scum- Town will catch you
I've lost track, but most of the votes on starrirain are Town. That can be used. Note to self= check your PM so you know who is on your team and try not to kill them.
That does not mean you don't question them if you see something others will question. bussing a team mate is expected and good game play ( as long as you don't kill them- well unless you have to of course )

So. Gadarene a lot seem to agree on.
And the other two?

Post by LightFoot on May 13, 2012 14:28:03 GMT -5
We need to try to reach a common agreement. I don't think Gad should be the target meself. but I'm just one of us. ( I do believe Town will take care of that)
bill. sure he hasn't beaded on one of us YET but he will ....be certain. I'm having a family day and can't find the player that was overly stating the detective thing. If someone else had the time I think that player should be one of our targets.

It would help if you all NUMBERED your three choices.
I THINK I saw three or four different people saying Gad is a good choice...so I'm counting that as three or four votes for him.
From here on, though, maybe number votes?

So that's about 2 votes for Bill, now, since someone else expressed interest in voting for him (texcat).

Idle Thank you for changing the thread name - very helpful when they are all on open tabs (you know how I like my tabs all open ) If anything I think dizzymrslizzy even more now as they will not expect us to kill her so it might lead them to believe we have mostly new players as Sum - and therefore leave our (very valuable to us!) more experienced players alone. Pleonast where are you? We need the other players who know what they are doing to give us more input!!

[red] vote Gardarene vote dizzymrslizzy vote francescaj [/red]
I've already given my reasons for Gardarene.
dizzymrslizzy got seven votes (LadyRogue voted for her too late) only one of which came from a Scum. Also, I think all of her behavior is defensable, which makes everyone who voted against her suspicious.
I'm not sold on the detective post by francescaj, but I suspect that a lot of people will go nuts trying to figure out why she was targeted.

the more I think about it, the more I agree that we should pick one "quiet" person - I suspect that not everyone with a non-vanilla role spoke up much.

While we are here, in these last twenty three hours, is there any discussion about the roles?
1. There will be a secret number of Detectives. 2. There will be a secret number of Doctors. 3. There will be a secret number of Masons. 4. There will be two of one secret role. 5. There will be one of another secret role.
As I understand things, there is a minimum of seven roles since one Mason would be the same as no Mason, yes? Presumably they are all town.
Any guesses on what the secret roles might be?

I'd agree with Bill on the advice of experienced players, and francescaj for the detective post. For the third, does it make sense to pick someone who didn't vote on Day 1? There seem to be quite a few who didn't, even allowing for substitutions.

Idle already told us there are 5 roles.

Idle already told us there are 5 roles. I see I spoke a bit recklessly, there are five roles but at least seven players have roles. I believe a sole Mason is pointless, and he said "two of one secret role" Also he specified "a secret number" of Detectives, Doctors, and Masons so there could be any number of players with those roles.

can the experienced players talk more about what sort of "secret roles" could exist? or does each mod make them up?

can the experienced players talk more about what sort of "secret roles" could exist? or does each mod make them up? There can be all sorts of roles - but most of them have one of 3 powers: Killing, investigation or protection. See more there: cataldo.freeshell.org/mafia/mafiascum04.swfThen there is the option that you mix and combine the three powers. This could be a Jack of Trades-roles with (let's say) 1 protection, 1 kill, 1 investigation and so on. Knowing Idle I will guess the roles is fairly simple (as he said it would be a fairly simple game) but with a nice idle-twist to it. You should see some of the things he trough in the game when he designed "The Super Mario"-game

that site is much better than that wiki one someone posted the other day. at least for me, anyway. thanks. that said, I might be more willing to post more often in the Days to come. would that seem suspicious? I do not believe it would seem suspicious. Just the opposite. It is clear to me that light posting is viewed as suspicious. This is because posting does carry risk that you might tip your hand. When you post, you must post as if you are town. This does not mean you announce you are town. Post as if you are an accepted member of the town community. Participate in the discussions but do so quietly. Make suggestions, ask questions, do not be accusatory. Always have a reason for your suspicions and votes (lack of reasons is considered very suspicious!) Do not be afraid to agree that a Scum might be a Scum (when you are posting over there, you do not know!). Some of us will be lynched, but it is a team win or loss. Finally, be very careful that you say nothing that reveals you have access to information that not everyone else has. For example, when I posted my list of those who did not vote, I completely ignored the issue of which names Chris had found subs for. I knew which ones he had done so and I was confident that he had announced it in the main thread, but I had just enough seed of doubt and was too lazy to go looking for it, so I just ignored it.

Don't be paranoid. People don't know what board you're looking at, haha. They'll just assume you're online and checking in on the boards to see if there's any new Night discussion in the thread. Believe me, nobody ever gets suspicious because you're online. When I changed it, I didn't know that Townies had a Night board of their own.
