Yeah. I don't want to be mean, because a lot of new players to this game were good and got the game quickly. Most of them did, actually... ..but a lot are also making newbie mistakes too...and some aren't very good. Tips to remember: 1. Scum will usually always be THE LAST PEOPLE you think they are. So if you think someone is scum, I'd say you're often more WRONG than right. 2. NEVER ever think "scum would never do that". They WOULD. They will be helpful...they will post a lot...they will do all the things you don't think they will do and all while trying to hide and keep the suspicion off of them....which is exactly why you should look at those that you DON'T think are scum rather than those you do. 3. Remember that you can UNVOTE...a lot of this game, it didn't seem like many of the new people ever unvoted once they voted...they kept their vote to the end. ..and the biggest thing I've seen in this game: 4. DON'T BE SHEEP! Have your own mind. SO many times with new players (especially in this game), I see people voting for someone and then a WHOOOOOLE bunch of other people vote for them right after....that's lazy voting. It's like they just go "Oh, okay, that's someone to vote for then...let's all pile on that person" whether or not that person looks very scummy or not. So many bandwagons happened in this game that I didn't really understand...and that I suspect was more "eh,I don't know who to vote for, so I'll just vote for who everyone ELSE is voting for!". I think this logic comes a lot from thinking "Well, there's got to be a lot of Townspeople on that bandwagon, so it's a good of a vote as any".....but they have no idea any more than you what the person they're voting for is. Seriously, vote for who YOU think is the best vote..not for who everyone else is. 5. Scum often divide their votes up. VERY rarely are they EVER voting all for the same person, especially for the first 4-5 Days. Some of them will be voting for one, some will be voting for another...some may even be the only one voting for someone.. Lastly.. 6. SCUM WILL vote for other scum to throw you off.

Ah, forgot this one:
7. Just because someone votes for you or finds you suspicious/scummy, doesn't mean they are scum themselves. I think a lot of what the cassi/crys thing right now is because one finds the other suspicious....Cassi voted for Crys...so Crys, in turn, is liable to think Cassie is more suspicious than usual. Scum USUALLY WON'T vote right away if it's near the last day...they'll let the townspeople do all the work and hang themselves, which is what Crys and Cassi are doing right now.

Colby is really hamming it up now with his I dont know who to vote for -- he's been damn sure of who to vote for for the last view days -- that alone is huge scum tell.
And as for bussing Hal, heck he bought everyone a ticket for that - he had no suspicions towards hal2 until he disappeared - struck me as obvious he knew more about hal2 than was public knowledge.

I think it's more town to vote and unvote....whereas scum will appear more indecisive and be like "I don't know who to vote for lolololol! Ohhh lawdy!" Colby is trying to make it look good and get as much as he can out of the "Duh, I have no idea who is who!!" card. He's majorly overplaying it at this point--almost to the point where it's obvious, but being new to the game, neither of the other two can see it.

but being new to the game, neither of the other two can see it. THIS. But at the same time, remember that we were all spoiled as we saw it happen. I kinda have to agree with Colby. I mean, he crafted a play out, and played it. As much as I don't like it, he did something amazing here. How long was he the only scum? How long did it look like Town would win this? Who was not firing on all cylinders? Who was? What gets the job done?

...and I finally just found the spoiler board, despite being dead for a month. when newbies ask for spoilers, perhaps they could use a PM about how to access them, LoL.
I wouldn't say I'm hooked, but I'd try another game come spring (fall is my busiest time of year so I'd be a terrible player from now until the new year).

To go back to what Idle said about I knew who I was voting for in the last day, I was not completely sure. Yes, part of it was an act, but part of it was real. I thought that if I put my vote too early, they would both decide to flip on me, and boom, game lost.

Yeah, I thought you had to wait. There was a danger that they would become suspicious of your not voting and figure it out. But I think there was a lot more danger of them figuring it out if you voted early and gave them lots of time to talk about your vote.
Thanks again for the strong end game!

Love reading the spoilers after the event!
For what it's worth, I noticed the glitch in the boards right at the start of the game. I was trying to figure out how to play so kept clicking on "last 10 posts" for people and sometimes there weren't 10. So being new and all, I assumed it was me being dim until eventually I realised it only happened to Scum (as I knew who was Scum, being one myself). I couldn't help wondering if some of the other players had spotted it too (especially those with amazingly accurate scum radar!) but at the same time thought it more likely that I had made some kind of mistake. So I'm really glad it's been sorted now.
Yes the last day was brilliant - the 2 townies each voting for each other - nearly as good as Phoenix's sudden suicide bid :-)
Thank you to everyone for a lot of fun - but especial huge thanks to Idle.
