Why are we not killing Hal? 1. Hal Briston 2. Guiri 3. Kagemoto I assume that Hal is protected by a Doctor and so would be a waste of a kill. Of course, the Doctor(s) might assume that that is what we would do and not bother to protect him. But I have to go with the first scenario.

@total Ullz- the assumption is that he'll be protected by a Doctor. Or will the Doctor know that we'll assume that and protect someone else instead? Or will the Doctor know that we'll divine that and protect Hal? Or...
I'm completely up for killing Hal; do we just keep plugging away at him until we get him? We don't want to waste a kill, especially when our numbers have been cut by a third.

Only about 22 hours to go, fellow Scum.
Cathi, you still have a vote to cast.
There are eight of us, but I doubt Mistde will be here. So seven of us.
Three of us have cast votes.
Time's already running out!!!

If we try to kill Hal tonight and succeed because the Doc thinks we won't, that's good. If we try to kill Hal tonight and miss, then the Doc will likely keep protecting him, stopping him from saving anyone else unless a better target surfaces during a Day. If we don't try to kill Hal, we may get three other people instead - but if all three are regular townies, why not just kill two regular townies? what's the big difference? If we're pretty certain on somebody being a power role, we might as well get them now, but if we don't, I think we should try and get Hal. If we miss, we don't bother tomorrow Night.
I'm 100% behind Merestil for the triple-sub importance and will otherwise agree with the colby pick, though I could get behind someone else if a case is made.
Vote Hal Vote Merestil Haye Vote Colby

What to do...Hal or Merestil? Anyone have a bead on who the Doctor(s) may be? That might give us a clue about how they're thinking. Wishing we had 4 kills toNight...
I'm going to read a little more before I make my third vote.

I keep going back to what Pleo said last Night about killing all old players. I think we need to kill some new players. Where is Pleo, BTW?
Amy, I get what you're saying about Hal, but I think I'd rather try to do it the other way round. Let's hope that we kill 3 other players tonight. Let the doctor see that we didn't try to kill Hal Tonight, and then maybe Tomorrow, he'll decide that we aren't going to target Hal and that there is no point in protecting him.
A question for Pleo or Total: Can we figure out the number of doctors and detectives likely in the game? We know 60 players, 5 masons, 12 scum, 1 vig and 2 crazies (or 2 vig and 1 crazy).

I like the reasons people have given for voting colby and merestil haye, and my opinion of guiri hasn't changed since last Night, so:
vote Colby vote merestil haye vote guiri
As to Hal, I think he'll be protected tonight; if we manage to take out another doctor, it'd be worth trying for Hal after that.

Vote: kagemoto aleetha guiri
I think we need to kill some newer players, and I think the chances of kagemoto having a role is pretty good, and of aleetha having a role is at least decent.
I'm not sure I agree with MHaye. That really looks like trying to out guess the mod. Perhaps Idle only replaced 3 times on the town side first, so that he could replace 3 times on our side next. I also tend to think that players with roles are less likely to go inactive and need replacing 3 times.

texcat- I can get behind that. (Although the devil's advocate in me is whispering, "But what if the new players were freaked out by having a real role and that's why they needed subbing?") Eh, we have time to keep evaluating. So in the interest of not killing experienced players only I will Vote: aleetha

Guiri 5 Colby 4 MHaye 3 Hal 2 Kagemoto 2 Aleetha 2
With these votes, you'll be trying for Guiri, Colby, and Mhaye.
Day ends in about 15 more hours

can someone elaborate on why killing experienced vs. inexperienced matters again? Why not take out those who know what they're doing? Just because the Town will then decide that the experienced folks alive are Scum?

(Although the devil's advocate in me is whispering, "But what if the new players were freaked out by having a real role and that's why they needed subbing?") I was just about to post something like that. I don't know if it could lead to a power role needing two subs, but it wouldn't really surprise me.

I was just about to post something like that. I don't know if it could lead to a power role needing two subs, but it wouldn't really surprise me. just to kinda second that idea, I was kinda scared when I got "scum" for my first game, and it's not even as complicated as a real power role. I wouldn't have chickened out of playing, but I'd probably be really bad at trying to be a doctor or vig on my own. And I sure wouldn't have known the best way to deal with being a crazy! so I understand folks getting cold feet when they find out what's involved.

@amy- the thinking was that our (scum's) experienced players will begin to stand out, yes.

So it sounds like our game plan for Tomorrow is to look for Doctors, no? And maybe a detective or two?

so... are we expecting the rest of our cohort to weigh in at all? with 13 hours to go, and a chunk of them being "night" in the US, I'm starting to wonder if I should keep checking to see if there's been new posts, LoL.

Think positive thoughts, Rich! I do! I think about how we will have taken out two doctors and a detective and chaos and panic will ensue as the towns people begin to fear there is a spy amongst them. Well, maybe!
