Texcat is an experienced player; I've played with her in Alias mafia games, which are this on STEROIDS. However, I agree with you that there is most likely at least one more experienced player still a living scum. (My bet is Gnarlycharlie or Surburban Plankton, though the latter did make me laugh above.) <Snipped again. See Gnarlycharlie is on my cleared list because of his voting history. ALL of Gnarly's votes have been for Scum players. It seems improbable that he'd flip so many of his teammates if he was Scummy?

I am unsure, though, why you think a scum Ed would announce in the daytime that Bill is a likely NK target when that would merely get any doctors who were around (and at that time there were several) to protect him that night if they thought he was town? Please explain further, because I just don't get this. <snipped> I don't think I specifically said I thought Ed/You were scum because of the Bill comments. It was just what led me to think about what experienced players are out there to steer the Scum team to kill Bill and Sister. I'll be honest, I did at the time find it a little Scum cuddling, like sort of pointing out what a good job Scum did in Killing off a Town Bill. But, it also could have just been a "helpful" statement, like alot of other things Ed said on D1/N1/D2. Okay, I misunderstood you then, sorry. At any rate I'm glad you posted it because you reminded me about Sister.

Ah, dizzymrslizzy, thanks for your post! I'd forgotten about Sister. I'm not sure Texcat had enough experience playing ON THIS BOARD to steer people towards wanting to take out sister, so that makes me more suspicious of the players who have played a lot here (Suburban Plankton, Inner Stickler, Total Ulla, and I'd add Paranoia to the list but he appears to have disappeared entirely? Though I suppose he could do that as scum just as much as town.) I don't think Total Ullz was around for Night 1 - she was a sub for a lurker. And you have to add Pleo to your list of possible experienced scum. And Lightfoot is also experienced; she could have known to take out SisterCoyote, I think?

Remember that many of those votes were for players who had been investigated as scum by Hal. And the best game I ever saw played by scum (a different Alias mafia game), two scum bussed every one of their teammates (including me, in that game) to sail to the endgame as "most trusted town."

You're right about Total Ullz, I'd forgotten she subbed in. I would add Pleo to my list of possible experienced scum, yes, I just don't think s/he's lying anymore since there hasn't been a counterclaim. So I'll put Pleo at the bottom of my list too. Lightfoot is an experienced player, yes, but I'm not sure how many games she'd played on this board; I wouldn't call her a "regular." The death of Merestril Haye points to a "regular" IMO too. And I forgot guiriII. (I thought his going after Texcat pointed to him being town, but he pointed out that as scum it would appear illogical to back off of her when he subbed back in. Do I think he'd point that out if he were scum? No, but it's WiFoM.)

I would think voting for scum would be a good way to hide- especially if you knew your vote wasn't going to make a difference- or would too obviously tip the scales... i am not speaking to any player's history in this game- just in general.

Also, re Meeko, I think he sort of proved he's town with the post above by saying the vanilla town PM has 3 words. Would he say that without a sample vanilla town PM if he weren't sure of it? Idle posted the Town PM for all to see. Did he? Where? (Because I looked for it on the boards before posting that.) At any rate I doubt you're making that up so never mind this argument completely then.

Thanks, I found it after I posted that...below Day O. I was looking in the Rules and How to Play threads.

If Pleo posts his message and Hal says that's the same one he got (worded the same way) then Pleo is telling the truth about being a detective. Excellent idea -- how about it, Pleo? Sure, although I don't think it will do much, else I would've posted it earlier. My role pm: Actually, now that I've slept on it, I'd rather Pleo didn't to a full reveal of his PM. Rather, I'd ask that he post an acronym of his PM. For instance, my PM begins "You are Town...", so I'd ask Pleo to begin with "YaT" and continute from there with the rest of his PM. Afterward, I can post my full PM, thereby offering town evidence that we received the same message, rather than just going on my say-so. Basically this would serve to be further soft-confirmation for both of us. Sure, editing previous quote. I really don't like meta-gaming, so I went "invisible" a long time ago. I suggest all players do the same. There's no in-game reason for players to know when others are logged on or not; this is not a real-time game. And I gotta say, maybe I'm being a little on the impatient side here, but I'm finding it a bit...let's call it surprising...that we haven't heard from Pleo yet toNight. You mean today (Thursday), because I've posted plenty ToNight (Night Six). I had a busy morning and only now got a chance to read through, at lunch.

I take it "Y a T a D. Y k w t d o.?" is an abbreviation of "You are Town and Detective. You know what to do, ok?"
Just curious, because that's nothing at all like mine. And while I said earlier that I would find a mis-match of our PMs to be a null tell, I don't like that one a bit.
The problem is that it indicates Idle sent it to you knowing that you were an experienced player who knows full well what a Detective's powers are, and made no effort to explain the role or put in any clarifying comments. Personally, I'd find that to be a bit irresponsible for a Mod to do, but if he decided to do that to you, ok. So why then did he not do it to me as well?

You got it. You'll have to ask Idle about this one. But we have somewhat of a history with giving each other roles. We both like to complain.
