Well four people have all come out of the woodwork, three days too late in my opinion (although I can understand why the masons didn't say something - the fact that Ginger had a perfect opportunity to add to Idle's statements, but didn't do so, irks me to this day. Since she was the first one to claim recruitment-blocking powers, I don't think it's scummy as much as it has denied me information that I specifically could have used to help the town with my role) - to confirm that their Christian powers all have defences against recruitment. I would say that is a pretty decent confirmation. As for WHY, I did kinda put a target on your back with my "handshake" on day one. As I see it, the obvious recruitment targets would be Idle, BillMC, Guiri, and yourself. Idle was confirmed as Christian on Night One, Guiri was visited by Ginger that same night (and according to her, her power prevents recruitments from occurring), and BillMC has gone from being virtually cleared in my mind to being a strong suspect, especially after Colby's claim of being a sinless Christian. That leaves yourself, and honestly I don't feel as though either you or Bill has given me much to work with in terms of determining alignment. If we're lucky, a devil recruiter visited a mason or Guiri. I can see HockeyMonkey being a target also (particularly after he was the first to vote Patricia) but the other two masons, who were both under suspicion on Day One? Doubt it. For the record, all this latent uncertainty came up because HockeyMonkey said that she'd "checked" MisterVisceral and DizzyMrsLizzy and that both were, and still are, Christians. I took that to mean that she had some knowledge that meant alignment-changing recruitments couldn't happen, and therefore you couldn't have been recruited yourself. When she admitted that she'd lied to protect the masons, things suddenly looked a lot different. Can you help me out here. What statements could I have helped Idle with? I am truly wondering, at the start of the game I was going through my personal issues so my head was clouded to say the least and I really did not track 100% the Idle and Bill show. The only reason I even claimed was because I was a lynch candidate, otherwise, my mouth would of remained shut. Once you claim you put a target on your back in this game (meaning mafia, because in this one game, claims are all over the place). Seeing that I had or have no knowledge of everyone's roles in this game, how do I know how I can help or hinder... If you'd have claimed that you had, say, a "hint" regarding recruitment, it would've changed the way I played my own role, most likely to the benefit of the town in general. There are avenues that I could've taken with it that are now closed off to me. Again, I don't think that you're a devil - haven't ruled you out 100% in case, for example, the devils had already done all the recruiting that they could and hence it wouldn't harm them for you to claim to be able to protect from recruitments - but I wish you'd said something earlier about that aspect of your role.

Does anyone know how the Dead players still play in this game. To my knowledge not one has come back and said anything on the board. Maybe they have their own board... I wonder if the dead effected the vote count and lynch yesterday? Any thoughts?

That said, there are a whole lot of mechanics still left alive in the game, and a vote-charger is a mechanic power. So the balance of probabilities, to me, still suggests that the dead have to fulfil some kind of secondary win condition (get into heaven?) while the living have to concentrate on killing devils.

Greetings all. This looks like fun Not to mention taking a while to re-read everything unless anyone has Cliff's notes. OTOH: the deadline is in a few hours and if I don't want a penalty vote, I had better put something down. Vote: No Lynch Vote: Filibuster I could do with the extra time to read up.

I haven't had time to really analyze what's been revealed today so I am going to: Vote: storyteller I'm sure it must be posts like these that has wombat pulling his hair out regarding you Masons...and I can't say I really blame him. Do you have any particular reason for voting storyteller? I see that your fellow Masons haven't joined you, so it seems to be an individual decision. Is there a case here somewhere, or did story's name just come up in your alphabet soup this evening? Slinging mud to see if anything sticks? I'm voting Storyteller because he's been absent and is a member of the unclaimed pool in which I feel there is a devil inside. Vote: suburban plankton [/b] I wish you had been lynched yesterday.

...So the top vote-getters are currently:
Plankton (confirmed Christian by Wombat, although presumably may be Heretic) Texcat (confirmed Christian by Ryjae) Silverjan (claimed watcher/tracker with confirmed results.)
WHAT THE FUCK??!!!!
This, and the fact that Hitler was originally elected, is why democracy fails.
Ok, Unvote: All.
Vote: CatInASuit.
Had I any mind to risk another situation like yesterday, I would be voting also for Guiri, Mahaloth, Colby, Bill, Scathach, and Storyteller. After Pollux, I don't feel that I want to take that risk, so I'm voting the one of those people who strikes me (purely based on KidV's play) as the most likely to be a devil. CiAS, for your information I made the same vote at the end of yesterday, and for basically the same reasons.

HoleyWhy on Gods green earth would you think I was recruited? We are not even sure recruiting is a thing in this game? I didn't say I checked them. I said an investigator would be smart to check people suspected of being scum. I was very careful to choose my words to not claim that I had in fact done anything I had not done.

01. The Nun, Christian, Investigator/Mechanic/Manipulator - Hockey Monkey!Role Name:The Nun Alignment: Christian Powers: 1. You know that dizzymrslizzyis the Friar and mistervisceralis the Monk. Both are Christian and cannot be recruited.
2. You may communicate secretly at the Priory. 3. Each Night, you may protect from being killed by a Devil a living player who is not yourself or the Friar or Monk. 4. You cannot be recruited. I didn't see if someone had said this already, but could this be a hint that Christians cannot be recruited?

I didn't see if someone had said this already, but could this be a hint that Christians cannot be recruited? It might be that 'Mason types" cannot be recruited. I would not assume it to be all. Not sure. It was just a thought why we have (apparently) 3 different factions with the same wincon. On a completely unrelated note, I'm also quite suspicious of the fact that ryjae was blocked/stopped when she tried to investigate Bill. It just seems very convenient that he was going to say no, and then finally gave in and said yes when everyone raised their eyebrows but then it didn't matter anyway because ryjae was blocked. Also, he didn't vote for patricia, and is still in the unclaimed pool, and is voting for soft confirmed Texcat. I'm already voting for him, I'm just surprised more people aren't.

...So the top vote-getters are currently: Right now, and unofficially, I make it: 4 votes on Story 3 votes on Texcat & SilverJan 2 on yourself and myself 1 on a bunch of others First off, the first third-party to claim turned up dead the next day, and I'd say there's at least 50% likelihood that her killer was a Christian. So good luck getting any other lurking third-parties to claim. Well then there's a 50% likelihood that her killer was a non-Christian, being NKed is sorta the second best option in Mafia, and look at how the non-christians are racking up the votes toDay: "crys has no votes wombat99 has no votes" Second off, the role that I'm claiming (and the details of that role can absolutely be checked - I've said outright that there's only one killer in the game, for example; what happens if two then come forward or are lynched / killed and their roles revealed later on?) is unique, as far as claims go. Given its usefulness in tracking both killers and mechanics (eg, recruiters), I'd say that it's pretty town-sided. Do you think a devil would a) have that role, or b) reveal the results publicly, as I have done? Your defense is "scum wouldn't do that"? I'm strongly reminded of Idle Thoughts in Conspiracy 4, he was Cabal and the secret power was to know the setup of the game, he shared the info D1. Pleo was the mod. Thirdly, even if the wincon for living Christians is incomplete, which I'm not ready to accept (we know that players continue to play this game after death, and thanks to Idle, we also know that Christians at least have a task that is not specified in my wincon at this time), what would happen if this occurred: - No third-parties claim their alignments, or are killed. - We get to day five or six, say, having hunted down most of the devils. - Pleonast then suddenly stops the game and declares that a third-party group, whose existence has never been confirmed in either our win condition or in gameplay, has won the game. I mean, this is the scenario that people were suggesting here with the "hostile third party" theory, isn't it? Or am I missing something here? Yes, a win con. I agree it would be very sucky if thay happened, I agree that there's a fair chance that they are friendly. I'm glad that you brought up Pollux, though, because it seems to me that his role, my role and Silverjan's role cover a pretty varied spectrum of information that could be useful to the Christians. Pollux was confirmed Christian upon his death, and Jan and I have both provided results to confirm that our roles are what we say they are. That leaves you and Mahaloth. Mahaloth has said that he can't provide results because of the nature of his role. What's your reason for not doing so? I suspect Colby can vouch for my N1 action and result, I'd rather not share more until I'm either under threat of lynch or there's wider support for a mass claim led by the masons.

Well I didn't trust the offer to be honest. It raised my sin count and with some of the investigation sinless/innocent things I didn't want to cloud results if someone did happen to investigate me. I didn't share that I turned it down, because I ass u med that many people would have thought that I did accept it. To find out that DizzyMrsLizzy got the offer and accepted means it potentially protected both of us. To me that is a positive effect of turning down the lust slaking. I hadn't thought about this, but it makes good sense that you could get the benefits of protection without the sin by not saying that you turned it down ahead of time. I suspect Colby can vouch for my N1 action and result, I'd rather not share more until I'm either under threat of lynch or there's wider support for a mass claim led by the masons. Another tidbit- I did not get any info regarding anything Guiri did to me Vote: Guiri

Pleo was the mod. Whether or not it's something scum "would do", I'm not scum, so... And defence of WHAT? Nobody's suggested anything I've done or said that would make me a devil suspect except MisterVisceral, and I've explained exactly why I said what he picked up on as a Christian.

Post by Suburban Plankton on Feb 22, 2013 11:08:36 GMT -5
Thanks. You've been a big help. You did say, didn't you? (I thought so.) Unless you (or one of the other Masons) is the one doing the slaking, I don't know how you could possibly know that. Especially if, as dizzymrslizzy has told us, we have more than one slaker. How can you be so certain? And if you are that certain, how about throwing the rest of us a bone? The reason I haven't asked about this is because "Lust slaking" sounds awfully like the action of a Cardinal Sin to me. "Lust" being one of the cardinal sins. If MisterVisceral, a confirmed Christian according to HockeyMonkey, is actually in posession of information regarding this, the absolute last thing he should do is say what it is. If mistervisceral's Cardinal Sin is Lust, then you're absolutely correct; he shouldn't say anything about it. The problem is: he's already opened his mouth. Nobody asked him; nobody pressured him; he voluntarily and without prompting gave us the information. If his Cardinal Sin is Lust, then he sealed his own fate right there. It doesn't take a genius to make that connection. And if his Cardinal Sin isn't Lust, then I don't see what the harm would be in him telling us what he knows. Then there's this from dizzymrslizzy: And there's more than 1 person who can Slake lust, because they Slaked me and I got a second PM asking them to Slake lust with me today as well. I KNOW Mr. V didn't send it because he can't protect Hockey or me. I asked her what she meant by this, but she hasn't answered. She says that she knows there are two lust slakers because she got an offer, and she knows MrV couldn't have sent it because the offer includes protection, and MrV can't protect her. To me, the only way to interpret these statements implies that MrV is one of the lust slakers. Otherwise, why did she mention his name here at all? Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting something. If so, it would be nice if dizzy would tell me so. But it seems that getting a straight answer out of people in this game is far easier said than done.

Obviously something has happened to make you think he has been recruited and it must have happened last Night. If you know how recruitment works and you think he's been recruited and is now a Devil, what's the point of not sharing that information? Vote charging is a stated mechanic power, as confirmed by Pleonast.

I know nobody was recruited last night if what Crys and Ginger have said is true, because only two mechanic roles were used then. That's the sum total of my knowledge of recruitment.
