It seems the group has barely dispersed before they are gathering again, attempting to discover who met their grisly fate with perhaps a bit too much eagerness. If eagerness it indeed was, the were likely to be disappointed: just as it looked as though one person was not going to show up, the latecomer stumbled in. It was hard to say anymore whether that was a good or a bad thing; perhaps it would at least be an illuminating one.

My investigation result: "You have determined that Swammerdami is aligned with the mafia."
So I'm taking that as Swammi is the godfather. It makes a bit of sense that the sole scum in the chain of townie targets is the godfather.
ToDay I would like to
Vote: Pleonast
This should sort things out nicely:
- if he is PFK or third party then swammerdami is condemned - if he is the godfather then swammerdami is cleared - if he is ordinary scum then swammerdami is condemned - if he is town then I'll be surprised. Or shocked
My suspicion is that he is PFK.

I'll add that if my investigation indicated that swammerdami was scum, I would still want to lynch Pleonast first.

Another alternative, if you want to insure against the game finishing early: we could do a No Lynch, so that I can investigate Pleonast.

I learn that Meeko is town-aligned. Assuming that I am a truthful Investigator, and Klutz is a truthful reversed-result Invewstigator, everyone has been cleared except the two Investigators and Chameleon. Chameleon isn't worrisome, as it is in her own best interest that we Lynch her soon. (We have to keep 3 Townies alive to ensure they outnumber our remaining Scum.) But Chameleon has a useful blocking power, so
Vote: Paranoia
Assuming we Lynch Chameleon toMorrow, we will be down to 4 certain Townies(*), 1 probable Godfather and 1 possible Godfather. Then we Lynch the less likely Godfather, hope one of us gets NK'ed, and Lynch the remaining Scum candidate. With three Townies alive at the end, everyone wins except Scum and 3 Townies. We can do slightly better if willing to risk that Scum does not have an unblockable Kill in reserve.
But, instead of probable Godfather Pleonast, there may be two candidates for possible Godfather -- Story and myself. A variation still works. Lynch me toMorrow instead of Chameleon, keeping her alive so that she and Meeko can block Pleo and Story. Lynch her the next Day. Worst case is for Scum to then NK, leaving an ending with 2 certain Townies and 2 possible Godfathers. In that case, assume that whichever possible Godfather Meeko did NOT block is the culprit.
One possible loophole is the off-beat scenario that Chameleon is a special Scum. I'll Investigate her toNight ... though she might be a special Scum Godfather who Investigates as 3rd Party.

I don't think Lynching Pleonast is in our best mutual interest, but am happy to move my vote to Pleonast if that's the consensus. Note that if Pleonast is the last Scum, as I suspect he is, then Klutz and I will both win.

I can win easily by Lynching Pleonast but am working for a maximal-player win. That's what Klutz was doing earlier, until he suddenly dropped LSD or something and became fixated on my being Scum. Why are you so convinced I'm Scum, Klutz? Just the assumption that Pleo's three friends must include a Scum, or is there more to it? Swammer, why did you choose to investigate someone who is almost certainly Town instead of Captain Klutz? I still think Klutz is Town. His relevant role PM paragraph and result PM's are identical to mine, word for word.

You can trust me to work for maximal win, if/when Klutz gets off his hallucinogens(*). But we may have to trust you, if we want to keep you around as a Blocker, Miss Chameleon. I hoped you watched the video of Dr. Szell:
"Is it safe?"

1. I would very much like to see an extension of the Day through at least Tuesday. I will have virtually no time this weekend to participate.
2. An accounting of who blocked who and who protected who would be quite useful at this stage; it might help us puzzle out either who was the (attempted) killer or who was definitely not. I did not act last night, and thus still have my (still undisclosed, though it has to do with self-protection) power.
3. If I had to have a vote down at the moment, it would be for swammerdami. I do not believe that we have two alignment investigators in this game given the makeup of the rest of the game. I am not entirely opposed to a Klutz lynch, because I don't see how his claims differ from being Scum. I don't know what I think of Pleonast just yet.

I have no objection to extending the Day.
If interest develops in Lynching me, please consider what you will do when I flip Town. I think Captain Klutz is also Town; Lynching us both is a path to failure.

Just the assumption that Pleo's three friends must include a Scum, or is there more to it? No LSD involved, indeed, nothing stronger than tea. The ring of targets had just 4 players remaining: you, me, storyteller and Silver Jan. I regard it as extremely unlikely that it is 100% town on town, so there is surely a scum in there somewhere. YesterDay 2 of those people were cleared (one by the lynch, the other by the investigation). That only leaves one possible contender for the lone scum. I was surprised, as I had you down as likely town. Although there were some odd things, like your patricia "gambit", and yesterDay your desire to lynch someone who you thought was town. Pleo's "friends" are a separate issue, and I think he is lying anyway. He didn't finish his claim until all the info was in the open, so it is easily faked.

Equivalent to a sane cop investigation. Dang. So storyteller is not actually, cleared, he could still be godfather. There are 4 people I would like to investigate toDay: storyteller, swammerdami, Pleonast and me: For all of these I am interested in the role. I am hoping that "godfather" is a role that can be determined, although it would be odd for a gofther to be immune to an alignment cop but still be found by a role cop. I would like to investigate me, in the hope of getting some clarification of my role. For now: Investigate: storyteller

There are just 3 players remaining in the "ring of targets", storyteller, swammedami and me.
I have investigated both of the others, and (assuming that I am indeed an Insane Cop) they are either town or godfather.
There is resistance to lynching Pleonast toDay, fearing that he is the last scum and will therefore end the game. In that case, the targeting business only involved town players.
I would like everyone to answer this question:
Do you believe it is plausible that the entire targeting business would be 100% town on town?

I believe it's possible Captain. Does it seem a bit too tidy? Maybe, but it could also be very clever. It certainly makes the third party wincon, which would be pretty difficult otherwise, more achievable, but it may regardless of what side the targets are on.

I still stand by a three man scum team, especially with a recruit in the mix. going beyond that seems kind of unnecessary when it seems most of the town was geared towards taking each *other* out.
I think you're talking up a storm in a teacup about a godfather too with certain things in the mix, unless it's swammer, but even then you could just be flat out unreliable when all you have are guilty checks.

Answering Klutz's questions. I agree the set-up seems simplistic and easily defeated. Even the phrasing of Pleo's and Patricia's alleged wincons compared with Townies' wincon suggests that either F&G was careless or a twist awaits us. But what twist? My #1 suspect is, by far, Pleonast. I think the Game will end as soon as he's dead. Mod, Is the Scum allowed to use its Night Kill against itself? To put Town out of its misery and "natter natter natter" the Townies without wincon achieved?#2 suspect is Storyteller. Distant #3 is Chameleon. So will you answer my question, Klutz? If I am Scum, how did I know Texcat and Paranoia were 3rd Party? One possible loophole is the off-beat scenario that Chameleon is a special Scum. I'll Investigate her toNight ... though she might be a special Scum Godfather who Investigates as 3rd Party. Uh. I can confirm she's third party? she is *on my team*. I believe you think Chameleon is on your team. And I am 99% sure you're correct. But we're grasping at straws, looking for anything that might be confounding us. Thinking (hoping?) that F&G has designed in some special twist. Some games have a "Mason" team with one Mason actually Scum. Is it possible that there is a Scum mole on your 3rd-Party team? Very unlikely -- that's why I have Story, not Chameleon, as #2 Scum suspect -- but I'll not rule it out.
