Well, in that case I have a question for Mal, or anyone else who may know. If I request to be Mod Killed, does the current Day keep going on to a lynch or does the Day end if the Mod Kill is Crew? Because if it's the first, I'm going to do that just so my team will still get to lynch zuma today. You all talk about "taking one for the team". Fine. I'll do that. Answer my question when you have the time, Mal and if it's the first, then I request it, please. If it's the latter, then I'll just stick it out, I guess. But I don't know what else would prove it to those who are really crew then hoping it's the first just so you all can see I'm crew and still have the Day left (hopefully) to get ride of zuma. You know perfectly well that this would be cheating. --FCOD

Ok, I'm still waiting on some more information - mostly looking over your old posts to see what's up - but what the hell are you talking about here? "Don't kill me because the pirates will get the advantage" "Go ahead and mod kill me" Seriously, I don't think you're going to get speed lynched tonight, you need to step away for a bit.

Dude. You're taking it up to 11. Either you're really ardent, or you might as well go all the way since you've nothing to lose (because you're a pirate without much defense). Why not just roll through today, see if anything else develops, and accept that YOUR worst case scenario, if you do turn out to be crew, is that we kill Zuma promptly tomorrow? There are any number of things that could still develop over the course of the Day, and ripping open your shirt going "shoot me, muthas!" just sounds like one of those dares people are supposed to back down from. Your modkill request makes no sense except from a puffery 'make my day' bluffing standpoint.

I'm saying, AZteach that if the case is, in a mod kill, that the current Day still goes on (in this case, it would be this Day, Day Four), then I'll request it, just so the crew will still be able to go for zuma's head.
FCOD seems to think that that'd be cheating. Me, I don't see how, because IF IT IS cheating, then obviously it WON'T be the case and WON'T be allowed. So no harm, no foul and I'll stick the Day out.
So that's why I'm asking instead of just requesting it straight away.

In light of my giant Bandwagon post, I am loathe to jump on another one. That being said, I do think that Idle Thoughts is the better choice for lynch.
Capybara articulated it best, but to recap, if Idle is a scum, good. If not, we lynch zuma post haste tomorrow, and we have lost a vanilla crew. If we lynch zuma today, and he is scum, good! If not we lynch Idle tomorrow and get a pirate, but we will have lost a crew-aligned power role in the process.
Logically it just makes more sense to lynch Idle Thoughts first.
My thought is that Idle is Dick Deadeye rather than a pirate. I'll try to reason this out into a coherent post tomorrow.
I am going to hold off on placing an actual vote right now, because we have lots of time, and I don't want a speed lynch.
Right now, I'm going down below to my rack and let my subconcious work on it.

Couple of thoughts. Idle being scum more or less clears NAF from being a straight pirate, right?
Both Candidates - why don't you post a list of what you think about each crew member, so which ever one of you turns out to be crew, we can get the benefit of your wisdom in case things don't go your way.

My thought is that Idle is Dick Deadeye rather than a pirate. I'll try to reason this out into a coherent post tomorrow. But that means you're giving full weight to the claim that zuma made. Because if you really believed he was "attacked" by me in any way, then it could stand to reason I was DD. Thing is, if you take away that "fact" that you're believing, and actually give MY side some weight, you'd believe me when I say that I don't have any attacking power. Something that might make you believe me even more as the game goes on if zuma was lynched today and you all saw he was the scum he is. Yeah but I've already said everything I could possibly say to try to convince others yet I'm racking up the votes by the pound. So it's kinda obvious to me that it's not going to make any difference. Then, hush, and be at peace, little one, and rest smugly and bask in your own good sweet potential martyrdom there on the stake, until things develop and become better understood. Vote count? Are votes up by the pound or simply by the ounce, now? Like I said before, I wouldn't mind if we weren't already down by six crew members. But seven to every one scum found? If crew keeps that pattern up for the rest of the game, we're screwed. Me, a crew member, based on what I know now, for sure...am trying to break that pattern, hopefully, and get people to realize (before they lose another crew that they don't need to lose, since they have the chance now) that zuma is the one you need to go after. Not later. Now. Now would be a good time. Couple of thoughts. Idle being scum more or less clears NAF from being a straight pirate, right? Both Candidates - why don't you post a list of what you think about each crew member, so which ever one of you turns out to be crew, we can get the benefit of your wisdom in case things don't go your way. I was planning on doing that, actually. But not today because I have to leave in about fifteen minutes (and won't be on until about noon tomorrow, PST). And about you saying you've seen resignation before but never anything like this....I'm not like that. I don't believe in just giving up like that. I don't hold it against those who do just resign to the fact that they'll be lynched but I don't see the point, myself. I KNOW I'm town. I KNOW zuma is lying. I KNOW all of these things and do you have ANY idea how frustrating it is to know these things but not have anyone believe you? Because like I said on the other page in a post, I KNOW EXACTLY what will happen already. My lynch will happen and THEN...yes, then everyone will go "OH NO, we made a mistake! Why oh why didn't we listen to Idle Thoughts?" But see, it won't mean anything then. It will be pointless then because it'll be too late and the deed will have been done. So yeah, it is frustrating a bit. Because it's NOT THAT TIME YET. We're not there yet. We're still before that and in THIS TIME, you all (those crew of you) still have a chance to avoid that. So what would you rather do? Take the chance and avoid that by holding off on voting for me OR zuma and waiting for more info (or better yet, voting for zuma and offing his scummy hiney, but I can even understand if people are at loathe to risk it).....or have to say what I ALREADY AM SAYING RIGHT NOW that you'll all say when it's found I was crew all long? So no. I won't go to the "gallows" with resignation. I'm crew and I want to help crew as much as I can. And that means I'm going to protest my innocence to the end and do whatever I can to try to convince the real crew out there that I am one of them and that zuma is misleading you all. Now please. If all if this isn't a defense post, I don't know what is.

But I will say that in the past, I generally saw marked resignation by vanilla townies on the way to the gallows, not this. I guess that's what I'm sensing-- from everyone else on the gallows (myself included) we get 'resignation": "Oh, well, whatever, you'll see when I'm dead and maybe we'll be in better position because of it. Night night! Maybe I'm dead in the morning! Whee!" No one before now has insisted that THEIR death, THIS time MATTERED more than the others. If he IS crew, he DOES still KNOW that this is wrong, but still, so did every other crewmember who's snuffed it. This time, however, if it IS the case that he's crew, we learn something DEFINITE. For the first time. As one of the relatively-recently bandwagoned, if I could have known that something certain like that would have come from my death I'd have been MORE resigned on Day One and gone gently into that goodnight with an exquisite, smug sense of-I-told-you-so-and-maybe-we-win-because-of-it. I would not have raged, raged against the dying et cetera sorry mister Thomas.

And yeah, if that strong help is asking to be bumped off, if the case is this Day WILL CONTINUE..then I'd even be willing to do that. Because THAT, truly, would be taking one for the team if you think about it. If that's the case, and the Day would keep going if I were mod killed, then that is probably the best way I can help my team because at least they wouldn't WASTE a day lynching a crew member and would still have that Day to go after zuma based on knowing then what I already know now.
IF that is the case though. Like FCOD says, however...maybe Mal would see that as cheating. I certainly wouldn't. HENCE WHY I'M ASKING. But if he (Mal) does then that obviously wouldn't be the case and the case would be: That I'd be killed and that would count as a Day kill and the game would move immediatly to Night. In which case....I won't ask to be killed off.
So I ask. And what the answer is, I'm really interested in hearing because I honestly don't know myself.

This time, however, if it IS the case that he's crew, we learn something DEFINITE. For the first time. But my lynching is uneeded for that. Simply lynch zuma (who, by the way, said I attacked him yet NEVER EVEN VOTED FOR ME HIMSELF YET) and you'll have a definite pirate. Or heck, like I said already, WHY does it have to be either or? If you're really so confuzzled or not sure of yourself, why risk either death, huh? Why not just vote for someone else who's in no danger of being lynched? Seriously guys? You'd prefer all accused crew to just lay down and take it like a wo/man for the good of the team? Whatever happened to "When they came for him, I didn't speak up. When they came for her, I didn't speak up. When they came for me, there was nobody left to speak up at all."? PFFFT. I'm not going to lay down and "take it" and hey if I'm a bad crew member for doing so, then I guess I'm a bad crew member. I just don't see the harm in trying to convince everyone, as much as I can, that I'm on the good side.

STOP lobbying to get yourself thrown overboard days and days before the Day ends, if you're crew. That will not help much, will it? You throw yourself in front of a train so we can get someone hours earlier than we would otherwise (IF all goes badly)? Don't be a putz, crewman.

Idle, the problem here, and about the only reason I'm not believing your story (and I would love a reason to believe zuma is a pirate because than I wouldn't be such an idiot), is that your numbers just don't add up. We have, what, 17 players left? There can't be more than three or four pirate roles, which means 6-7 pirate-aligned roles, which means we can still survive a 1-1 trade, especially since the Doctor and Steele are still in play. This is worth repeating. Corollary: Why would Zuma pull a whopper like this at this juncture, if he's lying? He hasn't stricken me as a moron or anything. It's a little early for a suicide bid, to get another vanilla crew kill.

Sweet kraken of Kingston, I haven't seen a clusterfuck this big since the orgy of 86'
Idle Thoughts, your defense is, how shall we say, lackluster. Yer continous protests do nothin' but make you seem like a scum tryin' to save his own arse.
If we be having merely pirate+crew, then the situation would favor tradin' you off, savvy? Every crew men dies, but not every crewmen truly lives, or somethin' to that nature. Yarrrr.
I know you got a good head on yer flea-bitten shoulders though, so I'm thinkin' the situation is much more complex than that.
I think ye be Ben Gunn. You have t' ability to ramshackle a defense better than your whiny poop so far. Your swearin' to ye father's soul do nothin' to me. Yer father was a hamster. Ok sorry I was bein' silly thar.
No, I think yer tryin' to die. You want to get targetted so you can go on yer killin' spree, savvy? Yer not scum b/c you aint stupid, and yer not crew b/c you're actin' mighty strange. I need to read the pirate code, does lynching Ben Gunna get all up on?
So, that's where me peg leg be standin' on that issue.
As for Zuma, I do believe he's lyin'. I'm not sure what his deal is, but his behavior needs to be put under the astrolabe. I dont want to lynch him now, but I dont think he should get a free ride today.
I'm still suspcious of ye, Hokey Pokey, but the ship has more pressin' matters at hand, savvy?

I know I said I was going to bed but I couldn't sleep and just thought of something else. I won't reply to any of the posts that have been made since I said I was going (I'll do that tomorrow), but instead just get the realization that struck me out and then head off again to try to sleep.
But it's just this.
I was wrong when I said that if I were to die that it would be the seventh crew having to be killed in order to just get the first pirate.
In all actuality...it might be eight or even nine dead by that time. Because between my possible (and likely) lynching tonight and tomorroDay, a possible two more crew members will have been killed in the Night.
So no, I don't think that all of this "it's worth trading one for one" is right or even good for town. Not when we're losing crew at the rate we are before we even get one scum.
Me, all I'm doing is trying to avoid that. And I know that zuma is lying so what am I gonna do? Give up? Not try to do everything I can to convince those true crew that I'm telling the truth? *shakes head* I'm just doing what I can and all I can. I only wish that people might see it before it's too late...
...I'm an honest member of the crew...
