This might be the first time since I've played here and giraffe boards that my random nothing vote d1 hasn't been attacked. I'm proud. Unvote: swamer Vote: mentalguyyou could come up with something to talk about? why don't you start us off? Well, I thought maybe someone had something more directly related to this game they might want to discuss. All I have are the same things we have been over a thousand times: lynch the lurker, policy votes, etc. In the original game, it seemed like some players had things they pretty much had to reveal to really make use of their powers. I don't know that that is the case this time, though, and I don't want players revealing information that is better left secret. Okay, what made my previous post worth a vote?

I voted Dizzy to prod her into posting; she replied immediately and is now tied for 4th-most active, along with me, with a whopping two posts. We still haven't heard from Peeker or Patricia. But even those who've posted have said little. We're all waiting for someone else to say something stupid. Like patients lying on a psychiatrist's couch, silent while the $200-per-hour billing ticks on, eventually somebody will blurt out something just to relieve the boredom ... and then get led to the gallows. (It will likely be me. ) So ... let me first ask two procedural questions: 1. What is the Scum win-condition? Do they just need to outnumber Town (Way of Blue) or outnumber all non-Scum?I don't expect Story to answer, but those who were Scum in the previous go-round might at least tell us about then. 2. "Hand-shaking" is legal and ethical, right? Can a player post a tiny fraction of his role-PM, soliciting kindred souls to recognize each other via PM's?

Why do I have sudden flash backs to Special Ed lecturing on the pro's and con's of handshaking!?
Such a question seems to suggest that you have a motive for asking.
Given non participation killed the last game, I think we're somewhat obliged to adopt a strategy of lynching non participants. So for now, I'll
vote: patricia
and will move it if she shows up.

I go on vacation for a couple days and miss just a few posts? Where is everyone? Anyway, I'm back now and should be able to participate. One of the mid-game frustrations of being the merchant last game is that there was absolutely no mechanism to regulate the transfer of souls(funds). I had to rely on the kindness of strangers. People can basically make a deal, wait for an item to arrive from a merchant, than not pass on the soul. I guess they'd be exposed, but it was still a lot of "faith selling". I said mid-game frustration, because this was introduced or at least very emphasized mid-game and I thought I'd get screwed over. I didn't(I think), but being the merchant was definitely non-solid.
Dizzy, did you have zero souls or something last game? 1 soul was my starting price.

Having just read day one the first thing that jumped out at me was the way the posts of Meeko, Chameleon, Sinjin and Cookies seem to be incomplete like may they were on the same team and going or town credit by busing each other early day one. But, Meeko is the only one I have played with a lot and for some reason I always seem to find him scummy or unclear or both. So, I'm not going to jump on any of them this early in the game as I have been wrong about Meeko a lot and for the second game in a row - I'm finding him completely understandable. Maybe I have learned to speak Meekoees. LOL
The second thing I noticed was how dizzymrslizzy responded to the person voting for her. I'm not ready to place a vote here either at this time but if nothing else jumps out.
The last time I said this it was jumped all over but I truly do hate day one voting. I understand that day has to be this way but I don't have to like it - it is like judging a book by it's cover. But is it a necessary evil and I will make sure to place a vote before day one is over.
one more thing, I know I was late to this party being the second to last one to post today - but where is Peeker? Quiet is not like him at all. hope everthing is ok in his world.

I understand Dizzy's vote for Mahaloth, yet at the same time I feel like it is a safe way to put a vote down.
Then we have Patricia whose first post is throwing daggers at everyone. I'm not sure who seems scummier....
For now, dizzy seems more scummy. From MHaye- Don't hold grudges... It never ends well

And I'll just Vote: Chameleon while I'm here for making a reasonable-seeming yet completely invalid and not applicable statement. When did I say I agreed with Meeko? All I said was that his reasoning was understandable. If I had thought it was a valid vote then I would have followed suit. It's not valid to say that something is understandable? It is all a matter of perspective I suppose. I know that my statement was just another in a long line of poking fun at Meeko's eloquent prose. I also know that Meeko and I suspecting each other based on vapors is best treated as a null tell. This is not our first rodeo together. So I'm not going to throw an OMGUS vote at him at this time. But you on the other hand, I have no metagame/playstyle/banter thingy with, so by anointing an inaccurate interpretation of something I said as reasonable, you have bought yourself a crappy Day 1 vote so that I don't accidentally sleep through Dusk with no skin in the game again.

Let's look at the posts to date:
Meeko votes Gravity in the first post for the color. Abstain randomly votes Swammer Meeko unvotes Gravity with a joke Meeko joke votes Cookies Cookies votes Chameleon for making a reasonable-seeming yet completely invalid Statement Abstain unvotes Swammer and votes Mentalguy to get the ball rolling Swammer votes Dizzy as a random vote I vote Mahaloth as a random vote with a joke attached Bill voted Patricia for no partipation Colby votes for me, because he misunderstood my vote for Mahaloth Patricia votes Peekers after chastising Colby for his bad vote on me.
I started this post because I was trying to build a case on Colby for his vote on me for my random vote, when every other vote I read prior to that was random, or pretty close to random nit picking at stupid nothingness. I was making conversation. My vote had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Mahaloth's play in the last game. Not in the very least bit. And yes to answer your question, I had a soul, but I also had an item that required souls to use, so my limited amount of souls didn't leave me much room to purchase more things.
Anyway through my vote analysis, here's a REAL vote for me. Patricia. IDK, my gut here had an intense scum reaction to your last post. You spend 2 paragraphs talking about how scummy Colby's vote on me is, and then flip around in your last sentence and throw a non-participation vote on Peekers. I'm sorry, but if we find someone scummy isn't that a better choice than a non-participator? I'd rather bag a scum, then eliminate a potential problem now.
Vote: Patricia

Peekers I'm not understanding your vote on me.... Are you confusing me with Patricia?
My vote is on a player that spent 2 paragraphs talking about how scummy one player is, and the flip flopped at the end to vote you because you were absent, when she herself hasn't been very active herself.

Having just read day one the first thing that jumped out at me was the way the posts of Meeko, Chameleon, Sinjin and Cookies seem to be incomplete like may they were on the same team and going or town credit by busing each other early day one. Sooo...everyone who was actively posting is on a scum team together, and they're all scumming it up in the main thread? That sounds...unlikely. As they say, why would scum do that? I agree, Day One voting tends to suck! I mean, you're just looking and looking for a good place to get a first vote down, but it's tough. Colby this whole post screams scum looking for a place to vote. I look scummy by poking half the players in my first post on day one. I know the old point that scum wouldn't do that is lame but why would scum do that? Are you smearing Colby for having a hard time voting on Day One? That's a lot of smearing you're doing here, especially for somebody who's voting for non-participation. Let me flip your question: why would Town do that?

I see poking as an inherently scummy move not necessarily because scum love to do it, but because lazy town love to do it as well. I'm guilty as are we all of doing it in the past.

patricia's first post seemed scummy to me when I first read it. Unfortunately, I was not able to write a post at the time. What has happened since, though, has not really changed my opinion. She mentions several players and says their posts seem incomplete. It just seems like she is trying to come up with something that others might feasibly find suspicious. I agree that Day 1 voting is difficult, but I feel she protests too much in a "don't blame me for lynching Town, this is hard" manner.

I sure have a knack for getting voted on Day One! Lucky me. I'm have just been trying to be more active and give my impression of the posts so far this game. As I said my vote on Peeker was a nudge and lo and behold it worked.
Therefore, I will Unvote: peeker . And I guess I will state for the record I'm town or Way of the Blue.
And a question to my voters... so if you don't post much (my usually MO you get votes, if you do post you get votes - seem you can't win.
I'm guessing that I have again stepped on some scum toes - so Colby I guess I will follow your rule#1

There have been so many times I've played and found Patricia scummy right off the bat that I'm reluctant to vote for her because it seems to just be her play style. I've also been right when I found her scummy and no one else did, so everyone finding her scummy also makes me wonder. However, she does seem the most questionable so far, play style or not. So if I take the meta-game feelings out of it I guess I'm left with:
Vote: Patricia For throwing out seemingly random smudges left, right and centre.
