When the mob turned its attention toward drainbead as the object of its bloody affection, she - like so many before her - put in no defense. She mounted the dais of her own accord, head held high, whatever secrets she might possess held tight. She was quickly seated and restrained, and the Governor approached her to pronounce her doom. She turned her face to meet his, her eyes wide and pleading.
"Please," she whispered, her voice meant only for the Governor. "Isn't there some other way?"
Governor Rugger eyed her with disdain. "It's for the good of the Colony," he said coldly. "Honestly, I never noticed...
How attractive you are."
The assembly murmured. Had their Governor lost his senses? As best she could, drainbead leaned forward, her voice still a mere whisper. "There must be something you could do."
Governor Rugger felt his pulse begin to race, and a flush rise in his face. "Well," he stammered, "I suppose... something in the nature of... a Gubernatorial Pardon... not exactly unprecedented... provided... an even exchange... certain services rendered... on behalf of the Colony, of course... yes, yes, a pardon..."
He was reaching for her restraint when diggitcamara, who stood nearby, grabbed his shoulder firmly. "This is not right," said diggit, his eyes stern. He turned his eyes toward drainbead, who regarded him plaintively. Something in diggit's countenance changed, and he turned back to the Governor. "If she is to be saved, it should not be by a corrupt public official."
Meanwhile, Tragic had also come to the top of the dais. "The both of you are mad!" she shouted. "She is... she... she should be mine." Toward the end of her sentence, Tragic's face curdled, into a dangerous snarl.
But Roosh and Parzival were already pushing past her, staking their own claim on the role of drainbead's white knight. Finally, Governor Rugger settled the problem in the only sensible fashion. He punched diggitcamara quite enthusiastically in the teeth. The activation switch for the electric chair tumbled to the floor, quite forgotten.
The brawl, once it began, was not particularly graceful. There was biting, and clawing, and more than a few furious profanities. atarus tackled Cookies, who was mounting the stairs toward atarus' new love, even as sinjin applied an inexpert headlock to a struggling Catinasuit. Each of the fifteen colonists who were not trapped in the electric chair was determined to be the savior of the one colonist who was.
And then, in his zeal to reach drainbead and read to her his recently-improvised sonnet of adoration, Captain Klutz seized the good Governor from behind. Governor Rugger's sporting days weren't long in his past, and he responded with a headbutt that bloodied his own nose and sent Captain Klutz sprawling to the floor below.
Unfortunately for drainbead, he fell directly onto the switch for the electric chair.
It was a sheepish, chastened group that greeted the Coroner when he emerged from his hour with the body of drainbead. But any sad feelings melted away fairly quickly when he showed them her bloodied serial number. Remembering the lesson of Pleonast, they checked the number in a near-frenzy, but drainbead had been no Blade Runner.
drainbead, a Rogue Replicant (Pleasure Model) role-blocker, has been lynched

Thus begins Night Five, which will end on Saturday, December 22 at 5:00PM. Night instructions are due at that time. The Night will not end early under any circumstances, as I will be traveling for the next two days. Have fun!

Finally!
At this point, I'd like to present drainbead with the official "RuggerScum Award" for being scum three times in a row on this board, and being a scum roleblocker twice in a row.

All right, y'all, I'm off to sunny Orlando. I will probably not be able to check in again until Saturday (there is a chance I will be near a computer tomorrow, but it's a distant chance). Behave, don't do anything I wouldn't do, and have fun!

Cat - Yesterday you pointed out that scum may have certain identities that would allow them to produce a viable false claim. Based on the results of yesterDay's lynch, I think that the fake identities are something that the scum would be able to use themselves. For example, drainbead could have claimed role blocker, her actual role. OTOH, scum have no use for, say, a medic. Does that make sense, and what do you think of it?

However, I think they will also have identities (ie. role claims) to hide behind when we put them on the spot. No, a Medic would not be useful to them.

What I'm saying is that, if they do have identities and/or role claims that they can hide behind, that it would be an identity or role that scum could use to their advantage, also. A scum investigator*, for example, although now that three pro-town roles have been revealed that can directly or indirectly determine allegiance, I don't think that one would work as well. *

Actually, I think the scum might have an investigator and I think we have had 4 roles that can determine alliegence Pleonast - Blade Runner Kat v.1 - Neuromancer sinjin - Scientist Tragic - Tragic certainly seemed sure that Parzival was semi-confirmed town, although given her cryptic responses I'm not sure what that means. I guess we will have to wait until she claims, although my instinct says she is not scum. I will have to look back over her posts and interactions and see what I can find.

Atarus - What'd you think of Cookie's proposal yesterDay? Well let's see here. Right now we have: Basically Confirmed TownMe - Mason, uncontested sinjin - Purveyor of Pee kassia - Blue Pee'd! Santo Rugger - Blue Pee'd! Role-ClaimedCapt. Klutz - Neuromancer Sidekick Cookies - Medic! UnknownCatinaSuit v. 2.0 (Hal Briston) Death by Irony diggitcamara episodeofblonde Kat v. 2.0 (Yattara) Parzival Roosh Tragic (hazelnutcoffee) zuma Version 2.0 (Blaster Master) --- If my fellow Mason(s) were to reveal themselves toNight before Dawn, there could be overlap (as both you and kassia may or may not be one of my fellow Masons) or we could shrink the pool of possible scum down. In addition, the other Mason(s) coming out into the open would keep sinjin from wasting her pee-device on somebody that can be confirmed town via other means. Also, with my fellow Mason(s) available and known, if you were to die toNight, we'd have at least one 100% confirmed town candidate to elect as the next Governor (me + any other alive Mason(s) ). In my opinion, the pros of revealing at this time outweigh the cons, however it is entirely up to the other Mason(s) if they want to come out toNight.

My turn to ask some questions, now that I'm out of school:
*Roosh - what was up with that "seven Replicants" thing? *Tragic - why did you put parzival but not kassia in your probable Town list? *Parzival - are you going to reveal what happened to you last Night? *Everybody - when would it become a game-breaking strategy to mass-claim?

*Everybody - when would it become a game-breaking strategy to mass-claim? You mean, when would it secure the game for town, and when would it secure the game for scum? If we have more confirmed town than Nights and Days left, combined, the game would be secured for town. If that's not satisfied, and/or scum claim a role that leads the town to believe they're not scum, then that allows the scum to pick off power roles and confirmed townies while the "survivor" scum lives on, most likely leading to a Sekam-like showdown.

Unknown Captain Klutz CatinaSuit v. 2.0 CometotheDarkSideWeHaveCookies Death by Irony diggitcamara episodeofblonde Kat v. 2.0 Parzival Roosh Tragic zuma v 2.0
Dead Colonists zuma v. 1 CatinaSuit v.1 hockey monkey Diomedes mhaye zeriel
Live Colonists kassia Santo Rugger
Town Power role Kat- The Neuromancer Pleonast - Rick Deckard, the Blade Runner NAF1138 - The Creator atarus - Mason sinjin - Scientist
Replicant drainbead - (Pleasure Model)
I am choosing to believe Sinjin and co are pro-town and no-one has counter claimed atarus
I would also expect a standard 12 vanilla at the start of the game (half the town total)
So that is 6 more vanilla and then I would expect at least a Doctor role, a couple more Masons and probably at least 3 more scum.
That adds up to one less than the total of the unknown + Semi Confirmed Colonists. However, there is at least one more power role going from the opening text, so that leaves
6 vanilla 1 doctor 2+ masons 1+ anti-town role 3+ scum
Unfortunately, this leaves a small problem with Captain Klutz.
I can't fit his role claim into the general pot of people. Does someone want to check out my maths and tell me I'm doing something wrong?

*sigh* Noon Lynch? I swore it was 6pm EST.... But still, my unvoting wouldn't have mattered much. (Yes, I'll go on the record, I believe Cookies right now. The Medic is a key that we as a town have been lacking). **Also for the record, I woulda probably switched my vote to Episode or CaiSv2.0 at that point of the claim**
And It is of my Opinion that the mason(s) should not claim until Dawn.Perhaps sinjin might be thrown off by it, but I REALLY don't like sharing information at night, even though alot of roles have been revealed today, so  i dunno.... I say let the mason's figure that one out, but I'm not gonna get involved in it, they've got the info, but just... be smart people. I think it'd be a wise move def. tomorrow morning, but at night? I just don't like it....
-->For that reason, I don't mind answering your question Dotchan- It was just a guess. But if you want more information, why don't you press the issue at Dawn rather than at night. I've stated it before, I do NOT like sharing information at night, even if its just as feelings and such. So I'll just leave it at that.
Any other Qs?

Roosh - I'd like to point out that scum have at least 4 targets right now, and we don't know if atarus is going to wake up in the morning. If they want to wait until BEFORE dawn, that would be acceptable to me, but I really, really don't want to risk a Monkgate.
And, also, scum know how many scum there are!!! How is your sharing why your "feelings and such" point to a certain number, if it's NOT going to help them in any way?

Umm, Cat? You're building a case against CK based on the assumption that there HAS to be 12 vanilla, and EXACTLY 3 masons? I'm not trying to build a case here so much as put down what I would expect and fit people into it. I'm not saying there has to be 12 vanilla, but usually, it is half of the total population as vanilla, although I guess with a game like this you would expect under. I was assuming average case 12 vanilla, 2 more masons and 3 more scum. If there are 3 more masons or 4 more scum, then the number of vanilla will drop. Nowhere did I state that there were three masons total or 4 scum total, just that those where my minimum values. If CK is genuine, and the scum number 5 in total then you are looking at 4 more vanilla left giving a total of 10 or so, which is within the realms of possibility. Hmm, its debating the strength of the town vs the possible scum and trying to work it out.
