If I were scum, I'd totally take out molefan Tonight. He played the "I'm so not a power role it isn't even funny" card too hard.

Yeeeouch! I don't think Diomedes should have posted to the game thread. I think a PM to get the scoop would have been better. molefan could be lying about getting a PM. Now he is put in a position where he needs to explain Diomedes's post, which isn't fair.

That's probably the way I'd have done it too.
I'm not sure I believe Molefan even now.

So back when I said scum should kill molefan? This is why I think they should off him: Actually, NAF, as a follow-up, why on earth would a pro-town molefan lie about something like this. What was his pro-town play? I think molefan is the pro-town investigator. The reason why he knows someone's role is because he's a Day investigator. He can't reveal who that person is, or even what the role is, because the role holder would call him on it as he didn't send any PMs. molefan constructed the PM lie to make his role seem less threatening to scum. The big big problem with this is why. Why would molefan go through all this crap? I see no reason pro-town or pro-scum to even consider this gambit. So I have my doubts, but the scenario I thought up is the only thing that makes sense to me so far. And NAF is right. Diomedes would totally not call molefan on his statement if he was lying scum because Diomedes would know that molefan was scum and therefore prone to lies. As Town, Diomedes took the statement at face value without considering that Town might lie. When storyteller started melting down, I was getting storyteller-Roosh flashbacks. Seems to be just about right.

So much for investigator molefan. If you guys think I've outed molefan as scum, you are incorrect. What I have done (indirectly) is tell you either that molefan is a dirty, dirty liar or that molefan has an official method of communicating with other people in this game. Either way, I think it was a mistake. I think if asking a question like that, most people would have PMed the mod directly. Could be innocuous. I think all protocol went out the window when Diomedes posted directly to the game thread. For all we know, molefan could have been a pro-town person but he felt he had a minor or not useful role. So he lied about getting communication from another player to hopefully get the scum to target him tonight instead of somebody who could be more beneficial to the town. If so, good play! I was convinced that scum should Nightkill molefan. And Masons are the vanilla players of a no-vanilla game. In Conspiracy, the fact that nearly all the masons died instead of other roles was key to the Town win. Now, in a closed game that changes somewhat, because we don't know whether we actually have Masons in the game. I'd argue that a no-vanilla game pretty much requires masons. Possibly multiple mason groups, but masons nonetheless. That was exciting!

Speaking as a player who LOVES power roles lying (and actually ALL power roles scum/nonscum) lying, i found today to be an amusing and fascinating read especially to try to guess the motivations and such (speaking of course as a non-mod, but just an observer).
I think the right avenues were pursued, and Dio handled the issue to the best of his abilities.
Though yeah, I totally have the Storyteller/Roosh flashbacks. Storyteller is ALWAYS an intimidating competitor no matter what. It's one reason i respect him as a player, and always love to play with him in the games. Even if it sucks to be on the receiving end sometimes.

Hey, Batman Begins is on FX(-W) right now (Tuesday night). It says it'll be on tomorrow at 5 p.m. PDT.
Pretty decent version of Batman (possibly the best live-action movie, but the competition was never that fierce unfortunately).
By the way, additional question, which one is everyone's favorite version of Batman?
My fave - Batman:The Animated Series.
And Batman is my favorite character.

I do like Batman Begins. But I wanna see the Dark Knight as it has one of my two fav. characters in it. And No, it's not the Bats But i also own Batman '66, and grew up watching them as a kid. But i ultimately prefer Batman the comics.

What a talkative bunch. We haven't had such a talkative Day One in a very long time. Cookies is on my suspicious list. Your PM had a wiki paragraph? I can't really pro-townly or productively participate in the conversation about win conditions, as I hope everyone is aware that once Dark Smurf posted his (alleged) PM quote, that pretty much any "mine too" statements after the first couple of (alleged) confirmations aren't really worth a red cent toward helping the town. I can say, however, that my PM did not include anything about a wiki. Why "alleged"? Everyone else seems to have nearly the exact same wording. Why would Cookies qualify her statement with "alleged." Clearly DarkSmurf got the verbiage from somewhere, and the only logical place would be from his PM. Does Cookies's PM not contain the same phrase? Something doesn't seem right here, but I can't see scum making this rather blatant mistake.

What's up with the drainbead votes? Or should I say, "What's the scum motivation?"
It seems to me that drainbead has a post restriction of some sort. I'm not understanding the kneejerk reaction of "I don't understand, vote drainbead." Silly.
I think zuma is playing antagonistic to make himself look Town like he was in previous games. He should know by now that his antics get him lynched and get him lynched early. And when he doesn't get lynched, he blows his credibility and no one listens to him. I think he is scum, playing it up to look like is old Town self.

Drainbead, have you been given a posting restriction? If so please spell it out for the rest of us. Dude. The first rule of post restriction is don't talk about post restriction.

One admin-type thought.
You might want to consider taking backups of this thread. Should the whole Day proceed like this, we could risk a reprise of Firefly's Day 1, which lost nearly 600 posts - and the only full record was kept by Captain Klutz, the Blue Handed scum...
It'll be easier if you save it as a text file rather than a series of html pages. You could do both, I suppose...

How do you do that? And when should i start to worry about such things? I could just open up a new Day 1 thread and lock the old one. But still. You're right.

And this is why I hate Day 1 on Closed Setup. The scum only know marginally more than the rest of us (who their scumbuddies are and their roles/powers). We can speculate until we're blue in the face, but something will be revealed at the end of every Day/Night cycle anyway.

If you click on the "Print" button on the top right of the page, you get a print friendly view of the thread. You can save that as a text document throuh the "File" menu. It saves the entire thread. Of course it doesn't preserve formatting so you might want to save the individual pages as html files as well.
You should do it because of the problems we had in Firefly. The Day 1 thread is growing apace and if there's some sort of collapse you'll lose a lot of the Day's record.

I must say, as a Mod and a Spectator, on both counts, this game is going BEAUTIFULLY. I really like the suspense, and I love all the interactions going on. Even though I have work to do, i keep checking in just to see the latest developments and learn more about what's going on. It's really quite wonderful to watch this game, and I'm def. already pleased with it. I hope this level of activity and excitement can continue in the later Days! I hope you all here in the peanut gallery are enjoying this as much as I am!

It's been a little haven of quietness and sanity since 4pm.
It is fun to watch from the outside. I'm glad, though, that I'm not in two games. Fluid's game is a bit demanding right now, hence my need for some peace and quiet.

Oh I'm tempted... I want to know.
But right now I'm content to sit and shell peanuts, throwing the shells at the people in the madhouse, ready to join the fun if enough openings occur.
Maybe in a Day or two. For now, the sub's bench is comfortable, teh nachos nice and spicy and the game worth a laugh or two.
