"It = you"? That's it? That's your next volley? A simple "Tag: you're it"? What kind of fool game are you playing? Where is the substance? Where is the corrivalry?

Yes, I imagine Italian isn't easy. I don't know much about it, but I understand it has a lot of subject/verb conjugation and is even more anal about various tenses than French, which, on a side note, is the only language I can speak and read outside of English, though, admittedly, I am rusty. I wonder if our illustrious mod gave you this restriction as a way of keeping your post lengths down. I mean, my restriction is pretty basic, and is fairly easy to accomplish. Obviously, you don't share the same restriction I do, or the game would have ended by now, and clearly I don't share yours, since I'm allowed to type in English. I'll be impressed if you can actually figure out what it is. I'll give you a hint, it has nothing to do with my penchant for sentences containing multiple clauses. That's just my conversational style.

Strike three? You have won? Au contraire, mon ami. The game is just barely underway. I'm in this for the long haul. You don't win simply by declaring you win. Circular reasoning has no place in this game. No. No. This little contest will continue for at least a little while longer.

Hoopy glances off to the right and and by the time he looks back Roosh is smiling. The wine is poisoned. Which glass shall you pick, Hoopy, the wine in front of you, or the wine in front of him?

Tee hee I know what it is. Well, he told me. Fun to watch you guys. I'm just curious as to what his poisoning condition was, I had to make at least 10 posts of at least six sentences each before I could hit mine, and I had to alternate with him (no double posting). Clearly he had a win condition that would preempt mine.

Roosh had to make you say three, third, thirdly, or use the number 3 in 3 posts.

To be honest I thought you'd catch on what with him making you translate, which was a good move on his part, but it felt slightly transparent.

Since most of the beans have been spilt, his "backwards, in Italian" thing was based on one of the "Worst Roles Ever" from another site called "Leonardo da Vinci."

To be honest I thought you'd catch on what with him making you translate, which was a good move on his part, but it felt slightly transparent. I disagree. I made him list 4 reasons first. Hoping that he'd hit 3 in the list. Which he did, but I had to wait 3 posts for you to say it. So it was too early. So then I simply said Strike Three. Once I realized he was translating everything, I just needed to come up with a confounding sentence with a three in it.

Was it fun? Do others want to play? Was the starting game fun? Were my conditions fair? Are people more interested in me expanding my starting game? By my count Roosh won when Hoopy hit his halfway point. Was this good play on Roosh's part or was the "time limit" condition too long.

I think the starting game makes the whole thing more interesting. I would be interested at giving it a whirl at some point.

Is that a tenative in NAF?
Don't worry the starting game will have whole new goals for both players.

I would recommend that both goals for doing the poisoning be active. The problem I saw with my goal knowing what Roosh's is now is that he essentially got to control the conversation, because his goal was to get me to say something, whereas mine was just to make it to 10 posts without saying what it was he wanted me to say and not even knowing that I wasn't supposed to say it. It's hard to avoid doing something when one doesn't know what one isn't supposed to do and one has method by which to try to control the situation.

But only if you get over to the game development board and help me sort the mess we have over there. I am going to try and do some further orginization tonight.

See the problem was, I had no idea what yours was either. I thought YOURS was to get ME to say something as well. That's I went with the Italian, and then avoided trying to use ANYTHING that I hadn't already said (ie: questions or such). You were being wordy, and I thought maybe you were trying to get me to ask you a Question OR you were trying to make me quote something. But i never thought yours was related to a # of posts. I just didn't want to talk though, because I felt I had you with the Strike 3. So I was just going to keep silent until you translated that "three". But yeah, I didn't even think about yours having the number sorta issue, and if you had kept it up I woulda kept responding, with no idea that You won when you hit a # of posts. I figured I had to SAY something as well. But I didn't really like the parts AFTER the poisoning. I feel like once I got you to say it, you should have lost from there. As the initial game is much more fun and trickier. But then to find out it all leads to a 50-50 chance of still losing? Hell i coulda just taken the post counts and then picked at random For That. That was my issue with the game. Initial parts = Fun The Picking afterwards- kinda anti-climactic.

It was because I had gotten him SO Close to my word, that I simply didn't want to respond until he translated the word. Otherwise, I would have kept up the dialog, and maybe gotten him to 10 easily. But I stopped when I felt I had the upper had, as I didn't want to do ANYTHING that could cause me to lose (I thought, well maybe even if i double posted that might be my loss. But it never occurred to me that i could have lost for talking TOO much. A brilliant one to use vs. me)- So I'd say give me the credit on that one.

You were being wordy, and I thought maybe you were trying to get me to ask you a Question OR you were trying to make me quote something. I was being wordy because I had to have at least six sentences in each of my posts. But congratulations on the Leo thing. I can't believe someone actually put that restriction in an actual mafia game at one point. I think I would quit a game that was that gastardly.

See the problem was, I had no idea what yours was either. I thought YOURS was to get ME to say something as well. Yeah, I had the similar thinking that you had to get to 10 posts. But when you started pulling out the Italian and less than 6 sentences, I figured that it was a mod enforced restriction and I had to figure out something from what you posted since I couldn't see how 10 posts for either of us would determine a winner. The whole "survivor" aspect of my role never entered my mind.

Oh, I'll clarify. The "Worst Roles Ever" was a thread on another board about, well, bad roles. Some of them are actually brilliant and could be great with some tweaking. Others, like da Vinci, were just bad.
It wasn't an actual game, just sort of a list of amusing ideas.

The arena is set. The crowd is screaming. In the center there are two chairs, a table, a bottle of wine, and two glasses. Between the glasses a bottle of poison. The crowd is brimming with anticipation, as doors open behind each chair....
(NAF, ped, craft your entrance posts, after you've both entered you'll be sent a pm with your distraction conditions.)

In walks NAF with the confidence of the Dread Pirate Roberts. He has gone in with a Sicilian when death was on the line, and he is lining up a land war in Asia he can get himself invovled in.
He walks to the table, looks at the glasses, smirks and sits.
