Day Two

After some friendly banter about drinks and slushies, Hal Briston retired for the Night to his bedroom. Carefully locking the door behind him, he sighed and rolled his shoulders. "What a day." He walked into the bathroom and turned the light on, looking at himself in the mirror. He stared for a good while before he started to speak.
"Okay look, I know you can hear me in there. I don't appreciate you yelling and screaming all the time. We're in this together now, you hear? I can't focus when you're causing all this ruckus. I live, you live, dig?" He stopped and cocked his head to the side, as if listening to somebody. "No, I'm not going to leave. I'm actually kind of starting to like it in here." He paused again. "Alright seriously man, what did I just say about the shouting?"
Hal lashed out, punching the mirror and shattering it. He drew his bloody hand back and examined it, glass shards sticking out of it. "See this? I can do whatever I want to you. Stop trying to screw with me."
"You know, talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity."
Hal jumped and turned to see another figure looming in the doorway. The lock had been broken with ease. "What are you doing here?" The figure was silent for a moment, as if confused, but quickly recovered.
"Why, to kill you of course."
Hal raised his hands. "Listen, I'm not trying to hurt anybody here. I just..."
"I don't care."
Hal lowered his hands and weighed his options. He could fight...or....
With a yell, Hal Briston ran forward into the bedroom and threw himself out the window in hopes of escaping....
---------
The next morning, storyteller was the first to awake. He decided to take a walk before the rest of the town woke up.
His walk didn't last very long, as a horrific sight awaited him at the next building over. A broken window on the second story...a blood splatter on the cement below. A smeared trail of blood led away from the initial splatter right to..
storyteller bent over as he began to retch. Hal Briston had been impaled upon a streetlight. The top of the streetlight had been broken off, and Hal's body had slowly slid down it until it had caught in the middle, leaving the top half of the post smeared with blood.
But before storyteller's eyes, something else began to happen. A dark mist began to pour out of Hal's open eyes and mouth. Soon the mist congealed into a cloud. The cloud paused and hovered in the air as if considering storyteller, then it rose into the air, going higher and higher into the sky until it finally disappeared from view.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
A scream that was not storyteller awoke the rest of the town. The survivors rushed out of their rooms towards the source of the scream: bufftabby, in the town square, her hand over her mouth and pointing towards the fountain.
A body was floating there, its blood having turned the fountain's water a dark red. FlyingCowofDoom was the first brave enough to approach the body, and he flipped it over and groaned. KidVermicious, the most vocal of the townspeople, stared back up at him, his eyes glazed over in death.
As the town was trying to get over the shock of KidVermicious' death, a white-faced storyteller explained what he had seen. Immediately it was decided that the rooms of both dead survivors would be searched for information.
A quick scouring of KidVermicious' room resulted in books on the occult, magical items, and scrolls that couldn't be translated. All of the items meant nothing to the town as a whole, but it was clear that he had not been a regular survivor.
A search of Hal Briston's room revealed nothing out of the ordinary. There was nothing to suggest he had been working with other demons...until a bookshelf was moved. "I AM POSSESSED HELP ME" had been scrawled on the wall. Sadly, it was too late for Hal.
The town reconvened in the square after properly disposing of the two corpses. Despite the death that loomed over them, a new Day had begun.
-------
Hal Briston, a Possessed Human, has been shuffled off this mortal coil.
KidVermicious, a Warlock (Nexus/Governor), had no spells to save him.
-------
Day 2 begins now. Day 2 will end Friday at 8 PM EST.
Note: All dead people, feel free to PM me for access to the spoiler board if you so desire.

*Stardragonman, still trapped in his nearly paralyzed body, heard the screams around him and wished he could join in. He looked at the "edit" button below the post, and contemplated suicide. He knew he had just enough strength to grab the silver knife and slit his wrists, but what if it didn't work? He was unsure what to do, as Day 2 began...*

I have no idea which, if any, of these questions will be addressed, but in the interest of trying:
What was the alignment of KidVermicious' character? To simplify: Town, Scum, or Third Party?
Also, will there be any reveal as to the powers of the Warlock?

And on Re-Read I see that Hal may have dove out the window, but there was someone THERE as well with him in the room. So he did have a visitor, we can presume.

Ok, well that sucked. A Warlock was a doc of some sort? So, does Hal's death more or less exonorate Darth?
Looks like I was more or less right about my time freeing up starting toDay, so I should be back in fine posting form for a while at least.
While I still think it is important that we break the color of the setup, barring a massive role/name claim (which I do not think is a good idea) I am not sure that we are going to have much more information to work with in that area than we did yesterday, so it's back to basics. At the end of the day it is still mafia.
I am going to go through hockeyguy's posts and see if he managed to link himself to anyone else, and then take a look at the vote patterns and see who might have been pushing to turn that bandwagon around in a somewhat subtle fashion.
Back with more in a bit.

The powers of the Warlock will not be revealed, no. This is interesting, and for us, extremely bad, folks. It means that, essentially, we have no chance of puzzling out the setup and using it to our advantage. Without access to any information about the powers of the dead, we have no way of realistically assessing the plausibility of any role claims that emerge. The scum now have tremendous wiggle room as regards claiming. An auspicious start, then, but we still have a long way to go. ----------- Pursuant to that, I maintain that the bandwagon on hockeyguy was a cruddy one. The fact that its result was a positive one for the Town as a whole does not, in this particular case, impress me; shoddy reasoning is shoddy reasoning. Someone on that bandwagon was scum, bailing on a lost cause. Let's see if we can figure out who.

I would agree, but I'd also point out that "Demon Lord" sounds mighty fucking more than just "Demon", that's why I'm curious- did we hit something big like a Godfather type role or maybe something with extra powers? -If that's the case, then I'd want to look at who was HESITANT to vote for Hockeyguy and who actively discouraged it as well. Namely the ones I'd want to see is the TIMING of the votes cast- who voted for HockeyGuy early vs. piling on later, and who was voting for someone else (Namely Buffy as the big "secondary" choice to hockeyguy. I'll have more time at night though, so I'll do some voter analysis on that stuff- who voted when, and what do we know now.) Anyways, i'll be back at night with more.

From memory, there were a bunch of people pointing away from the Hockey wagon. I'll take another look in a moment. Not sure what to think of the Warlord. Interesting that Hal was killed off. Didn't some folks speculate that he would be modkilled for hinting at possession? Still looks like he had a happy visitor, though, but hard to say.

Interesting. After re-reading yesterDay I became convinced that Kid Vermicious was Holy Water Guy. He picked up on Hal and Darth's breadcrumbs very quickly -- so quickly I figured that he knew about possession and exorcisms beforehand. He was also very interested in one of Kat's posts about the Exorcist, which made me think that he wasn't the Exorcist. IIRC, RyJae claimed that HWG was called the Demon Hunter, didn't he? Maybe my read was wrong.

YesterDay's lynch was actually quite fortuitous for us. Remember, we know that the demons were not able to communicate Night Zero or Day One. I therefore find it extraordinarily unlikely that bandwagon was started by a demon looking for townie cred -- not without discussing with everybody else first. And besides, scum really want to gain townie cred in the mid-to-late game, not Day One. Kat and stardragon don't look like demons at this point.
I agree with both Roosh and story: the most likely actions of scum yesterDay would have been to vote for somebody other than hockeyguy, and pile onto him once it became obvious that he was a dead man demon lord.
The bufftabby lynch bandwagon ought to be a very interesting thing to look at. I'm willing to bet that there's at least one demon who got on the bufftabby bandwagon after Kat posted her hockeyguy case, and jumped on the hockeyguy bandwagon once things became academic.

Well, it's good to know that my towndar is working. I remember thinking when Kid V placed his vote on me that it had a misguided townie feel to it, rather than a scummy feel, but fat lot of good that really does us, eh? I'm very interested to look at the pool of voters there. I've got a suspicion on a certain player, but I'd like to research a bit more before I say anything on that.
