If people knew they were being infected, peeker's role would be way too powerful - especially if the incubation time is 3 Days. (I'm assuming here that CiaS was infected on Night 1, and died from it last Night - it could also be less) If people would know about their infection, it would merely be a matter of asking for a cure from Peeker. Can anyone from scum confirm that they are not responsible for the virus?Uummhh. Maybe I am being whooshed. I don't see scum willingly participating in the above plan. Sheeps, already confused and the football hasn't even started. Shaping up to be a couch night apparently.

On the subject of mad bombers and the like: if you had the Legacy Virus on tap, wouldn't you be pretty tempted to ride the storm out until peeker got offed, so nobody would buy his claim? That thought had crossed my mind as well. However, if they want to play that game, it still is a net benefit for Town because it delays the amount of time before it takes us out. And a mad bomber that can occasionally kill is far more dangerous than one who can't. And if the legacy virus is a silent killer leaving no trail, there's no reason for them to hold off. Additionally, your LOLCat attack didn't actually kill. (By the way, you can all thank me for the Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanism. It was part of the mechanism for the character I had submitted, and was the only part of any submitted role the mods actually used.) And even with you holding off, you were still eventually discovered by someone. However, the person that could have outed you believed you were town and actually protected you the night Pollux tried to whack you.

Btw. what's everyone's take on the Mason claims by Hoopy and blockey? Personally, I'm inclined to believe Yepper. I think that they are "handshakin'" in the glory holes. santo you wanna chime in with some real life experiences.

Btw. what's everyone's take on the Mason claims by Hoopy and blockey? Personally, I'm inclined to believe There's no reason for you not to. Unless someone counterclaims us, we're confirmed. Look at the facts: We have a mod-confirmed dead mason. There is never a single mason in a game ('cause they wouldn't be a mason then). We have two people who have come out and confirmed each other's claims as being Masons. These people have not been counter-claimed. Scum claiming Mason is an extremely risky gambit because they risk counterclaims or investigations or serial killer deaths or accidental deaths or etc. that will reveal they are scum and condemn any other fellow claimer as scum as well. But yeah, if the [OJ Simpon]"Real Town Masons"[/OJ Simpson] want to counter-claim, go ahead. Town could use some exposed scum.

Ah, but if peek's claim is to be believed, he does have a chance of exposing the Infector. I can totally see the Infector just holding off until peek eventually gets lynched (sitting somewhere, getting more and more frustrated and shocked every day that peek isn't lynched), so that they have free reign to infect. I think it does sound like CiaS's death might have been caused by the Virus, but it's hard to say (since I have no freakin' clue) whether it might be A)a delayed reaction, possible from Night 1, or B)the Infector got tired of waiting for Peek to die, and struck last Night. At this point, I'm ready to stop discussing peeker (we say we're gonna stop, but it never seems to happen for some reason) until at least toMorrow, when we might have more information, in the form of another death by vomit. [On a total OOG sidenote: when I was a kid, I heard about how rock stars tended to choke on their own vom (Jimi, Janis, etc) while sleeping on their backs. Of course, I never knew that barbiturates or other drugs were generally the culprit, so that translated into a terrible fear of sleeping on my back, because I might randomly vomit at night and die. Years later, I found out the rest of the story, but it was too late. To this day, I am psychologically incapable of sleeping on my back. It makes me very uncomfortable to attempt, and I get more and more stressed the longer I try to do it. Sorry, I felt like it was time for Story Hour with Buff.]

Here are some more vote statistics, I don't know if they are helpful. chucara.dk/mafia/index.php?view=trueIt's a rundown of who voted for who on which days. What it does tell us, is that if the votes are correct, Pollux Oil and diggitcamara have only cast one vote each so far across three days, both on day 2 (Sinjin). If this is the case, is there a reason that you haven't voted? Well, to tell the truth, I have kind of lost feeling for the length of the Days in this game. Take yesterDay, for instance. I had a flurry of posts midDay (saturday, if I recall it correctly) but missed the ending of the Day completely. I need to reread what exactly happened to lynch Boozie but... there you are. That, actually, was the reason I voted for a longer Day at the beginning of the game. I'll try to shape up, by the way.

At the start no one knew how many there were 3. There are PFK's in the game, scum would have to be bloody stupid to claim pair-wise. Why? 1. A counterclaim would give town a chance to have a 2-for-1 exchange of deaths (at worst), which is usually a good thing for town 2. A Night kill of one of the claimants would expose the other one for an easy lynch during the next Day

Boy, I hope that the PMs that Santo and I received when we were blocked weren't really because we've been infected...
If the virus takes 3 Days to kill and CiaS was infected Night Zero (is that even possible?), that means I'm gonna die tomorrow and Santo will die after that, unless we're immunized. I am not asking for an immunization (yet) until we have some discussion about this theory first.
It could certainly be interpreted that "you were struck from behind by something quite sharp" is from a needle injecting me with the virus.
I'm not sure what this means, but I thought of it and decided to throw it out there to see what people think.

Wasn't a whole lot to say other than what our powers are (since we already knew who the other player and character names), but it was there. Scum were no doubt strategizing as well.

You know. I've been thinking.
[WtP]I'm just a little black rain cloud hovering around your honey tree[\WtP]
What would be the problem with a claim. I know that all are going to claim town alignment. But give me a name, please. If you are town then this is a no brainer. If you are scun most likely problematic but surmountable. If you are KidV then you are fucked.

What would be the problem with a claim. I know that all are going to claim town alignment. But give me a name, please. If you are town then this is a no brainer. If you are scun most likely problematic but surmountable. If you are KidV then you are fucked. Well, at this point I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a mass name claim anymore. After all, my biggest opposition to mass claim in the beginning was the masons would be obvious due the fact that we were all siblings. Now that we're out and it's been mentioned that we are siblings, it's no big deal. I mean, we've intentionally decided to keep our names hidden, because there is no pro-town benefit at this point to reveal them, but at the same time, the scum won't be able to figure out which one of us is the more dangerous one based on our names. After all, the powers of each individual don't necessarily match canon anyway, and the additional powers that blockey and I have can't easily be extrapolated from our names. (Nightcrawler was a teleporter in the canon. That has nothing to do with being a backup.) I also didn't want to bring up why I was opposed to the mass claim until someone else did (thanks, hawkeyeop for that, BTW) but once the ball was dropped, I ran with it. So yeah, Batman had a mass name claim Day 3 and in the end it was a positive thing for town (and a negative thing for Rugger, due to being revealed as Joker, and Hal, due to the mason name switcheroo). So I'm no longer opposed to it. Heck, we masons might just switch our names to keep scum guessing. Or we might not. YWMV (Your WIFOM may vary.) One more thing: just because you think KidV's scum doesn't mean much without presenting a solid case. After all, you thought Rysto was scum for the longest time, and he clearly wasn't.

Oh, and since no one's commented on it that I recall, this is helpful. Vote analysis is a key part of finding patterns for scum. Hal designed a nice little spreadsheet which actually kept a listing of votes, unvotes, and the ordinal number of each vote for each Day for each player in Batman. And he maintained it even after scum took him out (he was a 3rd party in that one). Something like that (i.e. a running tracker of peoples votes and unvotes) would be very useful in this game. But it probably would take a bit of effort. I'll try to get a vote/unvote record for the past few days up sometime before end of Day, but I don't know when I'll get around to it, so if anyone else wants to take up the mantle, feel free. (After all, as a mason it'll be unlikely I'll make it to end game anyway, so someone else will have to do it eventually. Also the night action/player list thing I've posted will probably need to be taken over at some point.)

I'd be okay with a mass name claim. I don't think the precise nature of my abilities would be apparent, and I suspect that would be the case for a lot of us. But I've never been in/watched a game that had a mass role claim, so I'm a total newb on this subject.

I was actually thinking about a mass name claim last night. I suspect that in this game the scum do not have false claims ready - why would they be needed? We already know that an otherwise central member of the X-men in canon (Rogue) was actually a PFK. With nightcrawler being a backup in this game against a canon power of teleportation, a characters canon powers don't seem to necessarily gel with the game powers. So the scum aren't going to necessarily be able to immediately pinpoint who is who in terms of role. And lets face it, we've already lost our doc and our cop (and backup cop) how much worse can it be? I think the weight of outcome is probably positive at this point for a mass name claim.

Fuck it, I'll go first. Heh. I'm a man. If anybody thinks I'm stupid for claiming, fuck 'em. I wanna see the rest of the Town follow me. And I hope the scum copy and paste directly, too.

Understand a mass name claim will be dangerous for Chucara, should he be town (which, based on his power, is likely).
After all, his power becomes very useful at that point.
Of course, some people could lie about their names, but then they take the risk of being exposed later. So I think a name claim would be good from that standpoint.
But we shouldn't let name claim discussion alone dominate toDay. After all, we have no likely lynch targets at this point, and the Day's been going on for two days now.
If we want to do a name claim, I'd be fine volunteering to create the order from random.org.

NAF,Why don't you want to lynch Peek today then? If we need to lynch him, shouldn't we do it sooner rather than later, even if it is as already later then it should be? Numbers. We no longer have the player advantage where we can make a mistake. Even though we caught CIAS we lost 2 townies last Night. Take a look at the player list, there is a lot of blue. The risk is now bigger and with the catching of a scum last night, the reward smaller. Right now is no longer a good time. The problem with this logic is that implies that we have a better option. It would be nice to think we have better leads on day 4 then day 1, but I'm not sure that we do. Currently we have arguments along the lines of you seeming "scummy", FCOD undervaluing a detective, and Kid being overly focused on Peek. I can't say that I find these to compelling. So while I agree that Peek isn't our ideal target for the day, I think he is a better target then a wild shot in the dark. We shouldn't ignore him as an option, unless we can come up with a better option, regardless as to what day it is. Personally, I think Santo is pushing the he is now cleared angle a bit hard, and that they could both be scum. However, I don't think arguing with Peek is a good use of my time. It just goes in circles with Peek saying over and over that the Mods say I'm not scum so I mustn't be, and you are scummy for even suggesting otherwise. Thus, I will focus elsewhere starting with the people who chose to vote for our Dearly Departed Fuzzy Man, and a closer look at Nanook. If I don't find anything better though, I'm coming back to Peek at the end of the day.

My concerns of a mass claim haven't really changed since day one. I see no obvious substantial benefit that outweigh the unknown risk.

Hey, what do you know, Peek responds exactly how I said he would. He can't be scum because he is honest. I should know he is being honest because, well I should just know. Perhaps, if he used a larger font it would be more convincing. Oh and our dead detectives didn't out him? Maybe that is because he preemptively said he would come up scum. If you haven't notices Peek, we can't really rely on a detective here. Plus, of course I'm suspicious for considering him a possible suspect. PEEK, IF I THOUGHT YOU WERE HONEST I WOULDN'T BE SUSPICIOUS OF YOU. If you want me to reiterate why you are towards the top of my suspicion list I will, but your woe is me defense and OMGUS votes are not helping, regardless to whether you are town or scum. Now to really move on to hopefully less frustrating targets

For what it's worth: There haven't been that many Nights during which you could have (would have?) been active. During one of them, you were blocked. For argument's sake, I'll assume that's true. On one Night you were redirected (and since Santo purpled you and you attacked yourself, that seems right)(btw, Santo? Why couldn't you think of that the Night Idle got killed (vis a vis redirecting onto himself?)) Getting back to my subject, all in all you've feathered one Night successfully, peeker. Could you, for fuck's sake, please tell us who you feathered? Because, like you said before, it's likely that you or that feathered dude(tte) are scum. And I'm quite willing to vote for that player. If only to clear/smear your name once and for all and stop talking about it!

My understanding is that such a person wouldn't know they'd been feathered, and so could neither confirm nor deny when asked. Maybe I am missing something here, (a glass or two of Tempranillo will do that to you), but I simply am not grokking this.
