..to throw in/add one more changing win condition.
How it is now, the NEXT Night (and change of win condition) would be the last (I.E. Scum's numbers have to be equal or greater than the rest of the players, Masons can with as their own faction if they're the only ones left OR win with Town when all scum are dead, Town wins when all scum are dead, and the three odd PFKs win with their own conditions).
But the michievious side of me is coming out.
As all of YOU guys know, the changing win conditions thing is a just a MAJOR RED HERRING. It has no barring on the game nor is it deadly or effect the outcome (well, much). It's just a huge, wonky, wacky thing thrown in to make the players more confused and the game more interesting.
That being said, I'm seriously considering adding one more win condition change (before last one--so it would be the next Night's and THEN the last one (above) would come about two Nights from now). One that would seriously, for one Day, make everyone still living go "WTF??!"
Namely changing Towns win condition to: Everyone who is Town must be dead, scums to: Everyone who is scum must be dead, and the Masons to: Everyone who is PFK (including Masons) must be dead.
Hahahaha, that would be so priceless. Although I have to admit, that probably WOULD be going into B/Gastard mod territory. Plus it would be something I'm making up as I went along and I was trying to avoid doing that.
Still, it's tempting..........
What do you all think? See, being dead, you all are now my helpers in reaching a decision.

I'd say don't.
Your second thought (that it's verging into Gastardization of the game) and third (that you're making it up on the fly) are probably better.

Well, so far I haven't made anything up after the game has started other than already adding an extra change in win conditions (it used to just be two changes and then the changes stopping but then I threw in another to have three total--some early spoilers people got only said it would change twice, though) Other than that, everything is going as planned and I still say this is not a bastard game. : ) I COULD SHOW YOU all a bastard game (on my next turn up) if you reallllllllllllllllly want me to. Compared to one of those, you'd all see that this one is a fun, corny game.

Your idea made me laugh hysterically. My coworkers think I'm retarded. But often what I think is funny, others don't, so don't use me as a barometer for your decision making.

Still, I'll take laughing hysterically as a good sign.

I think one extra cycle of win condition changing will be one cycle too many. I like what you have now. But that's just me. Other than that, everything is going as planned and I still say this is not a bastard game. : ) I COULD SHOW YOU all a bastard game (on my next turn up) if you reallllllllllllllllly want me to. Compared to one of those, you'd all see that this one is a fun, corny game. You and I have different deffinintions of Bastard game I think. That being said, I agree, now that I have spoilers, that this isn't a bastard game. Just a weird one. It just has the apperance of a bastard game right now because of how some things fell out. But that's just bad luck, not actual bastardy. It doesn't help that I was activly pushing to get tabby lynched even after I was convinced of her townieness. Scum tendancies run deep, and I had a mason name to cover me. I am not at all surprised that no one is picking up on the fact that you didn't mention the alignment of the masons. I wish that my team hadn't talked me out of claiming now.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I guess everyone is just assuming Mason means Town.
More nasty surprises people might be in for.

Did you ever decide, IDLE, whether to throw in the "town wins when all Town is dead" etc win condition? Because this
makes me really want to see that happen, for the entertainment value. Not that I think you should monkey with the game mechanics just for some larfs, but there's a part of me chanting "Do it, Idle, do it!"

Yeah, but the thing is, people are already starting to think this is a bastard game, for one. For two, players like Sinjin and storyteller are starting to be confused to the point where the game many not be so fun anymore (at least sinjin has said so ion the topic, but then again, she's scum so she may just be acting like she's angry). Story I just wagered is feeling that way from his "I don't understand this game at all".
I'm worried that if I throw in that one win condition, people will officially give up/throw in the towel and think that "IDLE is just fucking with [them]"
COMBINED for what I have planned for the Minus World/Warp Pipe...it really would start to look like a bastard game.

You have to consider that people play the game for fun. If they get frustrated, they aren't having fun.
Maybe on reflection, once they know the powers and plot twists, they'll look back and say "yeah, Idle was right, it's not Gastardised" but if they get frustrated in-game, they'll still be put off future games.
You're getting feedback from players suggesting they are not enjoying it. Don't move it even further in a direction the players find frustrating.

MHaye speaks words of wisdom. I'm content just imagining the reactions of folks to that win condition. They are likely far more amused in my imagination than they really would be. Story of my life, really.

Actually, I spoke with the only two people who (at least that I've seen) expressed thoughts that MIGHT have been like this. Sinjin confirms she's having a blast and just made that post because she's scum
Story tells me that he's having a great time and it's a very interesting game, but it's just confusing somewhat.
So that's good to know. However I still don't think I'll be putting the extra win condition in. The Minus World/Warp Pipe stuff that is going to happen on the next Day will be enough of a new thing to worry and wonder about, haha (still going to keep you all in the dark about it so you all can be surprised too).

I think this is the right call. I was starting to get frustrated before I was killed (mostly because I wouldn't have continued to push for a BuffTabby lynch if I had thought I would eventually wind up with a townish win condition) but it is still on the fun side of frustrating. It did feel like there was a plan, I just hadn't grasped it yet.

Well, I decided, at the last minute, it was too priceless to pass up and I threw it in, heh. Now people will probably be CONVINCED it's a gastard game, although all of you can, at least, see that it's not REALLY. It just REALLY SEEMS that way. But the next Day (Day Five), it will all go back to normal and the usual win conditions. The PFK Masons will also be changing from PFKs to Town (who can win as their own faction if they're the only ones left alive).
