I guess I owe an apology to Shaggy for being so adamant that he was the PFK. Sorry buddy! Second I wanted to point out that this situation does indeed mean that not only was Nanook lying, but that he is scum. In fact, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out that he isnt Sheik. Besides, we already suspected the scum of having a redirector, why would it surprise anyone that we were unable to target Nanook at night?

We were told the PFK was an 'impostor', so I'm guessing that was what it meant. Probably it was a mod-provided 'cover role'. I imagine he could have done okay with a claim and a use of the redirect power, if he didn't die.
As for using the powers:
The two-target one seems like a redirect, but I don't know what the other of 1/ 2 would be. Possibly it really was an investigate. But you shouldn't target someone you might accidentally kill.
Given what happened to me, I recommend you not try to target Nanook. My money's on the redirect of me being inherent in 'ninja' powers, and paul was compelled by Hal toward me (which makes sense since he likely thought it would be a kill).

[Fluff on] I just got back from the hospital with peekkid#3, she is my third wife's child from another boyfriend. She wanted to be there to see her father's current wife give birth to their second child. I was tasked with the Johnny Bench view of pictures since Dad was talking to Mom and #3 was with doc. This makes me a tad uncomfortable.
I am a middle (fuck it - late) aged conservative that thinks that the male version of child birth is getting drunk and smoking.
Apparently it's a busy night so I get tasked (after pictures and video) with holding the bloody steaming mass that is their child. GD, she is cute. The world is a good place to be. [/fluff off]

Well apparently three people now have tried to target Nanook at night, and all of them failed or were redirected. I'd stay away from him like the plague. (No offence meant.)

Her? wtf! Wow, two PFK. Who woulda thunk it. Ya know, something I was thinking about this morning as I was getting ready for work was why would a genuine 3rd party claim a 3rd party role that both win conditions have mentioned has to be dead. If you were just regular 3rd party (a la sachertorte), you would probably have just said that, since town was unlikely to lynch you at that point anyway. But as scum, you knew you weren't in danger of being killed by scum. You knew town was unlikely to lynch the PFK (though, seeing as how truly dangerous he was to us, it wasn't a bad choice at all), and you probably figured that you might get the real PFK to counterclaim. So the more I think about it, the more I'm sure you have to die toMorrow. There are 13 players remaining. Assuming one death toNight, that leaves 12. Assuming worst case scenario of 4 scum, that means we are 1 mislynch from lylo when we lose Zelda and Nanook. (If there are 2 kills toNight, we still end up 1 mislynch from lylo.) But assuming Nanook is scum, we're going to have to get rid of him sooner or later. Might as well make it sooner. Especially since it shoul give us a bit of information as well.

This. If Nanook plays ball and shoots scum, I'm willing to postpone his lynch. Thing is, he probably is scum, in which case he isn't likely to do that. And also, I look like shit. Just sayin'. Yeah, you do. If you're scum with Nanook, you obviously don't want to see him lynched. And you've been fighting it since Day 1. For example in the post at psychopathgame.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=smashing&action=display&thread=729&page=9#39592 you say: Now, peeker seems a bit scummy as well, so that mitigates the business somewhat, but you voted me ahead of him and the vote can be justified by mutual scum trying to distance themselves. But the vote isn't really what seems off to me. It's that first clause. The whole "This could get me in trouble down the road," thing. Because any time someone sticks there neck out to defend someone (or attack the attackers) it can get them in trouble down the road. It's like saying "My vote for this person should they be town won't look good." It's an axiomatic statement that doesn't need to be there. It's like you're setting up a preemptive defense. Then there's the aubby thing. You bring up Mitey's observation of aubby in 2.62. In 2.64, you kind of distance yourself by saying you wanted to bring it up and see what others thought. In 2.67, you ask if we should consider a 3rd place Ed vote a scum tell. Interesting, because you originally had Ed in 3rd place, and moved him into 2nd before the end of Day 1. 2.68 has more interchange with aubby's odd voting. To be fair, you did vote her as your top non-Ed candidate eventually, and later voted her behind molefan, who you thought was scummier. (I view the molefan interchange as a null tell. I can easily see a townie KidV doing the same thing.) I just find it interesting that in Borda, when Ed was the given number 1, you didn't vote aubby right off the bat. Her voting was suspicious. The fact that you brought it up seemed it would have garnered at least a 3rd place. After all, it got her (well chucara) plenty of number 1 votes later, and even an unofficial number 2 from you on the Day for which you were gone for the most part. And you're not thinking I'm confirmed thing could be a case of extra caution, but could also be a scum testing the waters to see if he can get anyone on board. That all being said, I don't consider any of this overly damning, even taken on the whole. But it does raise my hackles a bit. I still find punker scummier, due to his "We have been wrong on a lot of our reasons for voting, but we have always lynched people who have been pretty active this game. That is definitely not working." statement, because it is patently false, and the voting analysis that Pollux mentioned. Also, you and him have been going at it something fierce, and it doesn't seem to be merely scum posturing.

Yeah, you do. If you're scum with Nanook, you obviously don't want to see him lynched. And you've been fighting it since Day 1. It's a fine distinction, but what I've been arguing against is lynching Nanook for the wrong reasons. I was. I knew ya'll would think I was defending him (and you do), and think I was scum if he thats how he turns up (probably will). My problem with this whole business is I still think most of you Nanook voters (pre-reveal) were lucky. I don't think voting him for lurking was a good play, from a meta-standpoint, and I'm bothered that I'm the only one that appears to thinks so, or at least the only one to be forward with his opinion. And obviously, I think using that to connect me with him is horrible play, but you all won't know that unless I'm investigated or deaded. I haven't gone back to check, but I think I placed her second and molefan 3rd in my original vote of that Day. This is ... ugly. I have a confession to make. I spaced that your surrogate was confirmed as Town, and I tried to wiggle instead of owning up to that. I pulled a couple of similiar bonehead moves in Evil Dead. And thats about my only hope, at this point - it appears that I'll have tomorrow, while we deal with Nanook, which I plan to use hunting hard. If I can flush more scum, I can postpone my own lynch. Maybe. I too am bugged by punker, and I need to reread paul.

I think the two single-target powers are a kill and an investigation (hitlist and grudge, remember?). Our proximity to lylo leaves me reluctant to chance that kill, though. Unless I can come up with a seriously tasty target tonight (astoundingly awesome alliteration, aye?). The kicker is, this'll be our only chance to use Hals powers for Town, unless we no-lynch tomorrow. Poo.

Hey guys--I screwed up!
I should have said 8:00 PM Saturday for the Dawn.
However, I can't change it now, since people are assuming Sunday and may be stranded without using their NA (night action). So Night still goes till Sunday.

Oh and just so you all know, I am currently out at sea and have no internet access. So I am playing entirely through email and via proxy of my wife. So I may be a little slow in responding to posts. Depending on how often she sends me updates that is.
