The group was quiet. Eerily quiet. No-one had gone to bed; the atmosphere had gotten so tense that no-one could concentrate enough on sleep. It seemed to have paid off as well.
No-one has died!

Any day that begins with no death is good to me.
So, how 'bout that mass claim? If we're gonna do it we should get it going as quickly as possible. Of course, I believe Kat, crazypunker, and peeker are the only ones that haven't claimed to some degree.

Of course, I believe Kat, crazypunker, and peeker are the only ones that haven't claimed to some degree. Almost makes up for the bloodiness of the game so far. Thanks for getting us to switch over to Hal, Nanook. You're a pal! I'm still going to vote for you.Yeah, I can still generate a list if we want, just so everyone full claims, since we've got some partials, some fulls, and some unclaimed. Regardless, I think our non-claimers need to claim at least partially toDay. But here's the list for the full claim (bold are those that are completely unclaimed): Natlaw Hoopy Frood KidV crazypunker peekercpamolefan Nanook shaggy KatPollux Oil Parzival roxis paulwhoisaghost Oh, and to start things off: 1. vote Nanook 2. vote crazypunker 3. vote peekercpa[/color] Nanook is obviously scum, based on what went down with the Hal thing, and I mentioned why last Night. The other two get votes for reasons I've also given earlier. And I still have a mild suspicion on KidV, so he would be number 4, but as I said, the other 3 come across as scummier. Sorry to see you go Natlaw, but it's gotta be done sooner or later, so we might as well take out the bird in hand.

Hey, I don't get the details. Did you get extra pikmin or what? Remember that despite the success of last night, we stand to lose a townie today as well if all are telling the truth (Upon consideration of the what's happened, I'm now willing to believe natlaw). So we need to make the day count, and get discussion going. I suppose hashing out claims is as good as any point to go on.

It slept like a rose and don't remember anything from last Night, but looks like we do have a beautiful morning Today!(I got some posts written up at home, but am at work at the moment, you'll have to be patient for now ) Also, in case anyone's interested (who knows, it could provide some info?): The trophy gun was used last night. So either we had two successful blocks or the gun isn't an extra kill (and misterblockey got redirected Night Two?). A lot of good news Today!

And just to throw something out, there is a decetn chance that there is one 3rd party player remaining based on the number of players we started with.
Fortunately, we don't have to get rid of this one to win. And with a mad bomber nightkilled, and the only SK dead (since we were explicitly told we had to take out the SK to win, and in every game I've seen all SK's have to be dead, it's pretty certain we don't have another), it probably isn't a direct threat to us.
Though, this doesn't mean it can't steal the win. SDMB Mafia had a 3rd party Protective role. It would steal the win, but was actually a very pro-town power. So we have to keep this in the back of our minds.

Only the imposter (PFK) could prevent town or SCUM from winning.

I looked back. You are correct. Pedescribe did indeed confirm this on Day 1, and, interestingly enough, in response to sachertorte's question. Odd that a mad bomber couldn't preempt the win and apparently was unsure of how that would work and asked the mod about it. But I stand corrected. It's even more reason to leave any remaining 3rd parties alone.

Some questions about the Night posts: Anyone get the impression this game's roles weren't totally random? Better to ask this in green I think: pedescribe, were the roles randomly assigned?Ok, What next? It feels like we have to stretch coca cola bear man. But so far I've been pretty much wrong on everything. Just to clarify: who is coca cola bear man? Nanook, I guess? Also, as long as I'm posting in stream-of-consciousness mode, is there a significance to the strike-thru Lucario in Hals role name? I'm guessing it was a cover role - based on the wiki, he was replaced by Lucario in the Brawl game. No clue about his grudge/hitlist, but could have been other pokémon. Can we get a vote count please? It's posted now, so I'll bite: who did you hit, what number did you get and does that explain no extra votes Today? I'm in favor of claiming, though I can see an argument to wait until Tomorrow before demanding all information on the table, because we gained another mislynch (even if SCUM have an extra kill, if I count right). The claim should include the remaining roles from Pollux de Fuego, but should we also fully detail our powers?. Ah, I found a diary page you all might be interested in...

Lost pages from Zelda's DiaryDay Two I woke up with a nasty headache - this amnesia is the worst ever! What in Nayru's name is a 'Koldanar'? Smash Dedede already! Someone! Anyone!! My head hurts . My room is a mess, pages torn from my diary. Oh no! Did I really forget to create a protective flask yesterday?! I hope Sheiks skills are enough to keep us alive...
With an imposter out there and worse smashers than Ganondorf around, I should not forget to use the flask on us today, but we're so vulnerable tonight!
Day Three So many deaths! And I helped smash Toon Link . Who can I trust? Why should I protect?! Could that staff have powers to help out Sheik and myself? But my flask takes an whole day before it'll works, it might end up protecting a corpse... I need more time, we need to survive - I'll keep the flask on myself again. Is that too cowardly, will my mistakes tip the scales to the SCUM?
Day Four More deaths! Forget about yourself girl, protect someone! But who? Oh good! Captain Olimar to the rescue! If his pikmin protect him tonight, my flask can prime and he can send them out next night to find SCUM! I hope some will of them survive .
And Sheik, if you ever read this - you betrayed me! Sweet talking won't help you now, you are so dead, mister!

Post by Natlaw on Feb 23, 2009 14:03:53 GMT -5
-That pedescribe put molefan in as an example is uncanny foresight - Koldanar did not use any powers Day One -Self-protecting turned out really bad, sorry. I was assuming Sheik would have offensive powers and a vigilante/PFK taking us out both. Also was afraid to attach it to someone who would die that Night. -My flask will go through even if I die at Dusk. -My flask is not responsible for people not being able to find Nanook at Night. -My other power is not that relevant at this point in the game, since it must be used instead of the flask. If a scummy KidVermicious would use it instead of a protect will be it won't affect LyLo (if I counted right). Since I doubt we will be Night killing, KidV using a flask on scum won't hurt us. If you have reasons I should disclose it, I'll take that in consideration . Zelda's Super Smashing Stragegy: -I'm pretty convinced Captain Olimar is town, especially now we know Sheik isn't the PFK. -The flask protects him Night Five, so he doesn't need to self protect. -I can re-apply the flask for protection Night Six on him, even if we lynch me Today. Switching to another target is possible, but might up protecting a corpse. -If we lynch me Today and KidVermicious is town and makes it through Night Five, he can attach flask the next Day to protect someone Night Seven. Even if town doesn't trust him and lynches him Day Six, the flask action will go through. Can we delay lynching us lovers a Day for another flask (assuming KidV lives)? Assuming four SCUM without an extra kill, lynching Sheik/Zelda Day Six: D5: 9/4, D6: 7/4, D7: 5/3 (LyLo), D8: 4/2 (LyLo), D9: 3/1 (LyLo) With an extra kill: D5: 9/4, D6: 6/4, D7: 4/3 (LyLo), D8: 3/2 (LyLo), D9: 2/1 (LyLo) It is possible, but if Shiek has a harmful power besides him being a Ninja, it might be too risky.

Some questions about the Night posts: Anyone get the impression this game's roles weren't totally random? Better to ask this in green I think: pedescribe, were the roles randomly assigned? It was more of a toss-off comment than anything, which is why I didn't green it. After all: 1) Randomly assigned or not, it really won't change how we play the game. 2) Pedescribe wouldn't tell us anyway. I believe so. To interpret this bit of peeker-speak, it's probably a reference to Nanook of the North who lived in the Arctic (Northern Canada in particular), where there are polar bears, and polar bears were (are?) featured prominently in a series of Coca-Cola CGI commercials.

I don't mind putting off the lynch of the lovers. I see two noteable downsides, though: 1) The part you mentioned above about Shiek having a power that can hurt us. 2) The fact that we will be giving up a bird in hand for whatever sits in the bush, and while I'm pretty certain that at least one of the crazypunker, peeker, KidV crowd is SCUM, and would say that it's likely that at least two of them are, we don't have any confirmation on that. But there are advantages if you can get an extra protection in. And scum will have to kill their own to take you out to prevent that protection, so your probably relatively safe from scum at this point. And I really won't have any problems switching my number 1 vote to punker. He still never addressed my primary point against him. Even to say something along the lines of "your point is valid and I don't know what I was thinking". I think every Town player of mafia has had a moment like that. Really, punker's silence speaks volumes. Heck, even Chucara conceded that Aubby's behavior was suspicious. Unfortunately for him, he got put into a situation where he couldn't explain the why of someone else's actions. So yeah, if others agree on keeping you alive, I'll have no real problems switching my vote, but we should definitely discuss it. I'm pretty much giving the cost/benefit analysis of it even odds at this point.

This is what worries me. On one hand, we know Nanook is scum and can just as easily ignore him for the moment and lynch him another day. On the other...we don't know about anyone else, so we could screw up big time. However, I, too, would be more than willing to forego voting Nanook. I would like to hear everyone's opinions on my night action, though: Last night, as I've said, I was targeted. Charizard has been turned into a trophy and is now gone from my rotation. I have Squirtle out, which means that I can either use Squirtle or switch to Ivysaur. Snorlax is after Ivysaur in the rotation, so he, too, is unavailable. Now, ordinarily, I wouldn't be all "hur hur my protection's gone", but SCUM likely is already aware of this, so I can either tell town and get their opinions, or wing it. The former seems like a better option. Right now, I'm leaning towards using Ivysaur to vig someone. Of course, I'd like recommendations, since I'd rather vig someone we'd use a lynch on. But what are town's thoughts on the matter?

Unlikely, I think, but possible.
