All because scum could have a watcher. He is not worth the loss of a town power role when we can just lynch him at our leisure (sooner rather than later I would hope) Huh. A scum watcher. That's the sort of paranoid thinking I like, as I rarely think about watcher roles. Man, it's weird playing with the new players.

Why do you think that was a joke vote, paul? The whole post seemed serious enough to me. Admittedly, I don't know PSS, maybe this sort of terse vote-only with worthless commentary is standard operating procedure for him. I don't think it is. But then again, I'm not OMGUSing him right back, because I viewed it as a Joke vote.
Joke Eyeball of Suspicion to Pollux Goes to JailI expect good commentary from Pollux though normally, unless he's DRASTICALLY changed his mafia style in the last 6-7 months. So I'll let his vote sit on me, joke or not, Ah kin take it! (though... it IS new behavior for ya, Castor scared Stupid, you're more the touchy-feely type about others) But if it's there by the end of the Day w/o anything else really from him, then we'll have to have at it and the Joke EoS will turn into a very real FoS.

I'm not sure what to make of Pleo's claim right now. It's WiFoM at best. Why would he be claiming the way that he did on Day 1? It's jusy odd to me...I'm going to have to think this one over for a bit!

Can you elaborate why you wanted to post this? Only thing I see is that the 'multiple Day kill' is a bit over dramatic (you get a warning first time and might be subbed instead of mod killed). The claim is a big WIFOM, but I don't see it as a 'lynch me quick so Cow has to mod kill a lot of people'. Pleo is actually right. We've had past games in which the Evil League of Evil (or rather their equivalent in other settings) had a habit of dropping the hammer in order to shorten the time the Town had to discuss issues. If that happens before everybody has made five posts, then some people (possibly including me) will find themselves on a warning and under some pressure. If they then do the hammer bit again and catch people out, that's a problem. The ELE have used the rules to get a mass Daykill in; if they get two Townies that way, that's the equivalent of a Mislynch and Nightkill. The time before the Town reaches Lylo is reduced by one whole Day. There's a fine line between terminating a discussion prematurely and putting an end to one before some sort of consensus is reached. Someone on the latter side is acting in ways that benefit the ELE.

Perhaps a Name Claim- just so we can hear if you're unique/someone can counterclaim you? Or do you think giving your name is likely to get yourself lynched? (Ie: "Bad Horse"), because yeah... I'd probably lynch a guy with that name.

<font style="font-size: 12px;"> Vote RooshBecause I feel like it. I'm trying to work up the urge to care about Pleonast's claim. Working...working....working...failing. Nope, don't care. Big ol' glass of FWiFoM. (bleachified) This is clearly (to me) a joke vote. I'd rather like to vote Roosh too in a kind of stalkerish OMG it's the famous Roosh sort of way. To those new players who'll wonder what the frack I'm talking about. Before I started playing mafia I read quite a few games on here to get the feel of it. Roosh was definitely one of the stars with his long convoluted (but very entertaining) posts, crazy gambits and general awesomeness. So he's a bit of a celebrity. And the first game I played I subbed in for him (Alien Taste) and really didn't do his role justice, though it was loads of fun to try. As for Pleo's partial claim - I dunno. Maybe the poor guy just wants to last till Day 2 for a change (sorry about Simpletown pleo!). I don't trust it but I'm all for leaving it to a vig (if we have one/if he/she isn't remorseful etc etc) to deal with it, at least until tomorrow.

What else would you like to discuss though on Day 1 ? (Not Sarcasm actually) The pleonast claim sort of took all the attention in the room and put it on him, so there's been less of the random discussions and all that usually come with Day ones.

I think Pleo is right, in a self-fulfilling sort of way. Now that he's claimed the way he has, we need to lynch him. The question is whether to do it sooner or later.
I think I'm in favor of sooner, but keeping in mind the risk of a hammer I'll withhold voting for now.

I think I'm in favor of sooner, but keeping in mind the risk of a hammer I'll withhold voting for now. Does he REALLY have that many votes already on him to worry about a Hammer? That'd take 11 votes I believe (Majority), I don't think he's anywhere close to that. Also, if there WERE a ton of voters who suddenly created a Hammer, I'd like to see that, as that's reDICULOUSly suspicious. So I don't think you really have to "worry" about that sort of thing currently as a justification for not voting.

B: If he is this Jester thing.
C: Going back to my previous post, why would anyone attempt any night action on him in the event it exposes their power role.
D: I'd rather lynch him toDay if nothing else comes up, he may be a townie right now but toMorrow he could be scum so Minority Report style bitches.
And that is all I have on this, but willing to let someone explain why it is best for him to live and why it is better to take out a random or lurker than Pleonast.

And that is all I have on this, but willing to let someone explain why it is best for him to live and why it is better to take out a random or lurker than Pleonast. I strongly advocate tabling Pleonast for the rest of the Day. If we spend the entire Day talking about Pleonast, we will have wasted the Day, though tabling for Tomorrow potentially wastes Tomorrow, so it might be a wash. On the other hand deferred waste is better than immediate waste since faeries might do the job for us. Anyway, lynching Pleonast Today seems like a waste to me. I'd much rather toss around the lynch hot-potato to put pressure on scum to reveal thoughts. Lynching Pleonast is too much of a given. Let's at least try to lynch someone else so that we have meaningful data for future use. To answer zlw: A) We can't know this. Well, someone might know this, but public disclosure is probably not going to happen and is probably not a good idea. B) Most of us don't care about Jesters. Even if Pleonast flat out said he was a Jester, I don't see that as a compelling reason to change our course of action. I seriously doubt FCOD would go through the trouble of creating a game that could be scuttled by a lynch on Day One. In other words, if Pleonast is a Jester, he is likely Third Party and not PFK. Therefore, I don't care if he is a Jester (with the small caveat that I only care to the degree that lynching a jester is a waste of resources -- it hurts town and helps scum). C) There is little reason to believe that targeting Pleonast will expose a power role. I think it is quite clear that Protective and Investigative roles have no business targeting Pleonast during Night One (or any Night for that matter). Pleonast is dead meat. It is just a matter of when. Protecting him will only delay his death and possibly force us to lynch instead of waking up to find Pleonast conveniently dead. Investigating him is useless too since we're going to kill him anyway regardless of the investigation result. So who exactly are you concerned about that will be exposed by targeting Pleonast this Night? The only role I see targeting Pleonast is a Vigilante. And if the Vigilante gets exposed to the scum, I don't think it matters too much. Worst case is we wake up with a dead Vig on Day Three and we then have evidence of a scum watcher. We will have lost our Vigilante, but there are worse things to have happen. Vigilante's are not that important anyway. They can be downright dangerous. And a dead Vigilante means a not-dead something else. The benefit of course is we get Pleonast killed during the night and don't waste a lynch and don't have a big information void. D) So if Pleonast shows up scum, what will we have learned? If he shows up Jester? If he shows up Town? Lynching Pleonast Today fails to move the Town forward. Pleonast told us he needs to be lynched. Town and scum alike will back this. The vote to lynch Pleonast will reveal nothing about anyone else. Pleonast is a distraction. We need to move onto something else... anything else... anything that is void of all things Pleo and nast. I move that we table the Pleonast issue until Tomorrow. At the very least I'd like to get everyone on record regarding Today versus Tomorrow. Then, hopefully, we will move onto other things. I'll try to foster a new discussion later today.

I don't see the joy in waiting until tomorrow to lynch Pleo, sacher. I can't believe you're ready to toss a potential vig. away with so little care. You have also neglected the possibility that we have a player who can protect against recruitment. Is that person expendable too?
In my opinion if we leave Pleo for tomorrow it's going to be ground hog day all over again. What's the point? If everyone agrees we have to kill him why not just do it today.

If we spend the entire Day talking about Pleonast, we will have wasted the Day, though tabling for Tomorrow potentially wastes Tomorrow, so it might be a wash. On the other hand deferred waste is better than immediate waste since faeries might do the job for us. This is why I insta-claimed, so we could get my distraction out of the way with plenty of time remaining. I think the best way to handle it is 1) Everyone express their opinion on me in an off color. Once we have a majority of players saying "lynch Pleo ToDay", we can all switch our votes to me. 2) Everyone vote however they'd like, ignoring me. This gets votes on the record and allows us to apply pressure as normal.

1) There is no guarantee in anything. There is no guarantee that a vig killing Pleonast will be exposed. But there is no guarantee that he won't be exposed either. Risk versus reward. Risk, a Vig might get exposed by trying to kill Pleonast. Reward, we don't waste a lynch on Pleonast. Personally, I don't think the risk is all that big. Either way, it's up to the Vig. But if we lynch Pleonast Today, the Vig doesn't get the opportunity.
2) Did you see my part about Protective Roles NOT targeting Pleonast because doing so would be monumentally stupid? So if someone can protect from recruitment, by not targeting Pleonast, how exactly will that person get exposed? Pleonast is dead meat. Protecting him from recruitment is a waste. Let's say the recruiting protector protects Pleonast and Pleonast lives. Huzzah!... Um, we're still killing Pleonast Tomorrow.

I'm afraid more info will make it easier to recruit me while not helping any anti-recruiter. That's an interesting statement, there, Pleo. Why would you think that the name of your role, or the color, would necessarily help Scum but not necessarily help Town? I can't explain the nature of my problem with above clearly enough, dammit. (Assuming the truth of your claim), you are presupposing that your color will: (1) help the Scum recruit you; and (2) keep any Town roles from helping you. But from my perspective, you have no evidence that this is the case, or, indeed, that exactly the opposite wouldn't be the case.
