Day Two

Post by The Real FCOD on May 7, 2009 14:02:27 GMT -5
Everyone in the town woke up, fully expecting to find someone missing or dead.
After performing a head count, it was discovered that everyone was still alive! What a crazy random happenstance!
----------------------------------------------- Day Two will end on Tuesday, May 12th at 3:00pm Eastern Time. With 19 alive, it will take 10 votes to start the countdown and 18 votes to insta-lynch.
FYI: The players that were less-than-active have been poked and I will not be taking any further action at this time.

My vote will not count Today. Vote: Pleonast I have some issues with the "Night Ends early if the mod gets all the night actions in early," but it seems that we're getting some unintended information. What a crazy random happenstance! Night ends early if all actions get in early. Night did NOT end early. Therefore, not all night actions were sent to FCoD and something random happened last night. Perhaps even a crazy random happenstance.

That was a pleseant surprise. So maybe the reason zlw didn't get a read had something to do with a paranoid doc? Or perhaps a roleblocker... And just be be a bit more brutal then I usually am: I hate trust/mis-trust lists like the one in the Night by sachertorte www.idlemafia.com/index.cgi?board=threeclan&action=display&thread=922&page=4#46668I see them as anti-town (not saying pro-scum). With a list like that you hand scum you thoughts on other players. But you really don't give town any data to work with. I don't mind you making wall-of-words on every player or even "build a case" (stupid expression - but know not of a better). But to just say things like "so far, so good. We disagree on points, but I don't think she's intentionally trying to drive me insane" just isn't giving me any information to work with. But it does provide scum with informations they can use to snuggle you (if you have them as Town), to decide who to NK and who to try and get lynched. So yeah - I hate that kind of lists and have even voted people for making them.

Something like, I got a PM from FCOD. Presumably, I was the target of someone last night and an effect of this action is that my vote does not count Today.
Better? <- not meant to be snarky even though it sounds like it is.

So yeah - I hate that kind of lists and have even voted people for making them. Then you will be voting for me often. I always try to be transparent on how I perceive everyone in the game. I encourage others to do the same. The single time I was scum, the last thing I wanted to do was take a stance on someone, anyone. If they were town I wanted to keep my options open, if they were scum I didn't want to associate myself with them or put them in danger. It is my opinion that scum hate revealing how they feel about people AND WHY. Therefore, I think forcing scum to take a stance on everyone is a good thing. BTW, if this irks you so, why didn't you object to Pleonast when he posted a similar person-by-person list during Day One?

Fair enough. So you actually got a message saying you lost your vote. I actually do prefer the latter actually, as my first instinct was that I just thought you were maybe trying to pull a me or something by saying it, and then doing it anyways.
Though, if the vote count shows differently, then yeah, color me suspicious. But I guess I can believe that for now.
I actually do find Pleo a GREAT candidate today for lynching w/ the no Kill last night. That worrys me that perhaps there was a recruitment or something. Unless the scum just didn't turn in a Night Action, but then ModCow said he'd use random.org.... So there probably WAS a kill attempted or there was perhaps something else done by the scum instead. Either way... a crazy random happenstance indeed.
Unvote Pleo Vote Bad Horse. The One that looks like a Horse! Right there people!
(Just changing that vote stuff, so not to confuse the real Data, as I just wanted to see a vote count but as I do intend on perhaps voting for Pleo, I don't want the test vote to be the vote as I just picked the same target as Sach. But if others are going to vote for him (and if Sach's vote counts), I'd rather not muddle the Data with voting placements.

I appreciate the paranoia, but seriously, who would fake claim I can't vote, then vote? What's the ploy? How does that accomplish anything?
1) FCoD only said that compulsory Night Actions would be random.org. I presume scum have the option to no-kill so random.org would not be in play for them.
2) I seriously doubt that scum missed their kill. Even though we got one on Day One, there are presumably several left. At least one of them should be present enough to enact a kill.

I take it you talking about this: www.idlemafia.com/index.cgi?board=threeclan&action=display&thread=911&page=7#46339I didn't really see that as a "trust/mis-trust"-list. He has all players in the list (as far as I can see) - but he is referring to things in the game with a lot of them. My problem with the list you made isn't the fact that you're letting us know what you think - it's the way you do it with a list like that. If you take an issue and post how everyone has reacted to that issue - I'm fine. But you list was based on how you remembered the players. Not what they had indeed said or done. That's what I don't like. Lists like that don't provide Town with any informations. And I'll have to say (after reading it again): It seems you only see one slightly scummy player in the game so far:

I think a summary in words reads better, but more subjective of course . When Sister Coyote was in the lead Pleonast, Sister Coyote, special ed and sachertorte voted Pollux to the top. After Pollux's claim, Kat! and Roosh vote Sister Coyote back in the lead. sachertorte unvoted Pollux, while KidVermicious placed the second vote for Inner Stickler ( Natlaw (me) had the first). Then paul, zlw, sachertorte, NAF1138 and MHaye brought Inner Stickler in the lead. After Inner Stickler's and zlw's claim, sinjin and sachertorte ensured Sister Coyote's lynch, while Pleonast and MHaye got Pollux back up to three. Some things that stand out to me: Pleonast: His voting combined with his request for more information, he stirred up a lot. I doubt he would know who was scum and consciously voting to save Sister Coyote. I'll be voting him Today, as the no kill could also have been a recruit. special ed: Based on previous games I played with him, I really expected more posts from him (I'll admit it partly meta-game as I'm following the mafia game on the SDMB where he's active as well). sachertorte: voted for and against Sister Coyote, but in the end voted for her. It might have been a bus with the alternatives only having one vote at that point. Since the rapid votes for Inner Stickler took Sister Coyote of the hook (for a while), those players get some suspicion from me: , KidVermicious, paul, zlw, sachertorte, NAF1138 and MHaye. Again for the record I also voted Inner Stickler and zlw has made a testable claim. I do wonder why Sister Coyote didn't placed a vote in the end. She did say not be able to come back after her claim, but could have made a difference. Total Lost: You were active Yesterday, but why didn't you vote at all?

As you get to know me you will learn that I'm far more capable of identifying Town on Day One than scum. Personally, I don't think that is unusual since scum avoid overt actions that "look scummy." I'm mean how many scummy players should I have found at this point, especially since many players have posted little to nothing?

We need to lynch me ToDay. But we'll get nothing useful out that lynch vote because both Town and scum have reasons to want to lynch me. So here's my plan.
Come next Monday, everyone switch their votes to me. Before then, vote for your next choice. Yeah, we all know that we're not going through with that, but it will give us something to talk about.

Also: I have seen the musical now and I wonder why there would be only two groupies in this game... In the movie there was three at all time. Just strange to me.

What I meant to say was: If only one players looked scummy to you why do the whole "All these are either Town or too quiet"-list. Why not go after the lurkers and/or the scummy-looking player. I don't understand why you felt the need to say "I see as townie" in a list. I don't agree/dis-agree with the statements on you list or anything else you have done so far. As for the lack of kills, I would guess I was the target. (I have no way of knowing.) I do not think there's any value of a pro-Town killer revealing that they tried and failed to kill me. Scum killers are welcome to go public though. Nor was I recruited, although I would say that even if I had been. ;D

I really just can't see why you would think a list like that was pro-Town. And I can't see why you think a list like that is anti-Town. You can't read my mind. So I tell you what I think. Telling you which players have left little impression on me may or may not be useful, but it's not detrimental. Maybe they are lurking in plain sight, maybe they were just busy... lots of things, but documenting how I feel each Day helps me identify patterns and behaviors under different situations, as well as who I need to pay more attention to. I suppose I could write all this stuff down and keep it secret, but I don't see the benefit of doing so. I like sharing and if everyone clams up about what they are thinking, we won't get anywhere. Furthermore, posting it gives it a nice nifty timestamp so I know when it was I was feeling a particular way.
