Day Six
May 9, 2009 21:14:15 GMT -5
Post by Gir! on May 9, 2009 21:14:15 GMT -5
The neighborhood stirred to wakefulness in anticipation of yet another eventful Day. The people gathered together and began the usual morning ritual to determine who was present before undertaking the usually-grisly task of tracking down the absentees.
At the first stop, the half-open front door revealed a room covered with scattered papers, books and photographs. A disturbingly still form lay in the middle of the mess. One of the group knelt to turn over the body.
KidVermicious aka Gunter Detterson, Vanilla Town is dead.
Grief and anguish still hanging over their heads, the townsfolk continued to another nearby house, where they found yet another of their neighbors trapped inside. Flying Cow of Doom assures them that he is alive and in good health. Unfortunately, he will be unable to cast a vote in this Day's decision.
----------
With 7 eligible voters, 25% or more of the players must vote toDay, or no lynch will occur. If less than 2 votes total are cast by Dusk, no lynch will occur.
With 7 eligible voters, if the lead votegetter receives 5 votes, a 12-hour Countdown will begin. If the lead drops below 5, the Countdown will pause.
If no Countdown is started, the Day will end on Wednesday, May 13, at 9 PM Central Daylight Time (7 PM Pacific Daylight Time).

Sorry to see you go KidV. Pending words from Nanook (i.e. unless Nanook says he's town): Vote: shaggy I don't understand your motivation for this vote. Yesterday you didn't trust Nanook but you are trusting him now? I have to say that it was Shaggy's analysis of MHaye that convinced me to vote for MHaye. Are you suggesting the Alien's bussed MHaye? With just a single vote in it, Shaggy could have moved his vote at the last minute to Nanook to save MHaye.

That sucks, So to see you killed kid . Pending words from Nanook (i.e. unless Nanook says he's town): Vote: shaggy .
And here I was going to do the same thing but with you. Based on my suspicion I have and posted yesterday, I am was probably going to have you as my main suspect today to vote. But since the day is still early and all, I will hold off for now. And no if I do end up voting you, it will not be a OMGUS, it will be a suspicioun based on yesterdays post's. However I think it is best to reread and look at all those left, well minus a few I am inclined to trust as town. But the others, to reread and examine.

6.3
This post from pedescribe is the first he's made that really caught my attention. I didn't recall him expressing any opinion on shaggy recently, so it seemed a post analysis was in order. (As this was the impetus for my post analysis, but not actually part of my case, "Wait...hang on...wrong one. Unvote: shaggy" doesn't really affect any of this.)
What have I found? Lots of waffling and self-deprecation and woe-is-me, but no explanation for his current vote. Come, let us explore more of his posts:
Ain't nobody doin' great brother, except maybe the Aliens.
5.36
It happens. Especially when it's convenient.
5.18
This strikes me as odd. He's setting up two plausible choices that feature Nanook as an Alien. It's as though he's skipping the major point of "Is Nanook an Alien?" and trying to get us to decide the minor point. If we choose either 1 or 2, we've conceded that Nanook is an Alien in making that decision. (I read about it in Playboy the other day as a fine technique for bedding the ladies.)
5.12
This seems like a pretty darn waffly vote. Plus I don't quite understand the two "on the other hand" scenarios here. It's as though he's trying to set this up to be seen as a personally "risky" vote. Plus we've got the same self-deprecation going on, a tactic I remember Pedescribe using as scum in the FB Star Wars game.
4.38
Seems like avoiding responsibility for his vote.
total lost sums up nicely pedescribe's Day One and Day Two behavior:
So:
Vote: pedescribe
I am feeling pretty darn sure this guy's an alien.

I did not investigate you. I'm pretty sure you're an Alien, and therefore it would be counter productive to my overall plan to investigate you.
I did investigate someone last Night, but the results of it leave me in a bit of a quandry. Bufftabby, do you have anything to say for yourself before I reveal my results?

Ah, well, that certainly solves a quandry of my own.
Hmm, what to say for myself? Well, I'm not an Alien. I can't win with the Aliens. I can only win with Town. Oh, yeah, and I'm a Temple member. Let's see if I can answer some questions.
Why was Cap Pinkie allowed to post his PM? That means it was fake, right? You know, that's a great question. In fact, I would have voted for him based on that if I had come back in time. As our leader, I suspect the good Captain had a win condition of his own. I was the first to post my PM in the temple thread, and that's definitely my wincon that's posted, and I suspect Sundry's as well. He was very suspicious of total lost the Night she died, and I've wondered since then if he was up to something.
Can't you win with the Aliens? No, *all* Temple members would have needed to be recruited for that to happen, and sundry's death Night One makes that impossible.
Why didn't you say anything before now? this is a pretty difficult role to defend, and I've only regained my constant internet access as of Friday. Claim Temple, then disappear? Oh yes, that would work out great.
Any more questions? I'm guessing yes.

So Captain was the head of the Temple? Interesting.
Just to be clear, I investigated Bufftabby last Night and found out she was Temple. You can see why this would be a bit of a quandry for me, since we don't know for certain what the Temple's win condition is, so it isn't so clear cut as a Town/Alien result would be.
Personally? I buy that she's Town aligned now. I said so when Captain posted his supposed "PM", and I still believe it now. This is a way to have third party Masons without tainting the name Mason. And Captain being leader and potentially having his own win con doesn't surprise me either, since it's been down before when NAF was the Penquin in Batman.
Vote: Pedescribe
The same person I've been suspicious of since basically Day 1. You want me to move this? Give me a good reason to do so beyond "I'm Town, and lynching me would be bad!"

I've been suspicious of him the whole game. I was sure he isn't town... and he isn't temple or Buff would have claimed him so.... so yeah... if he isn't modkilled I say we do it ourselves. Although, if he is modkilled and comes back town.... well it puts things in a new light.
