Day Six
Feb 12, 2010 14:39:42 GMT -5
Post by Merestil Haye on Feb 12, 2010 14:39:42 GMT -5
2½ hours remain in the Day as I start to write this post, and I still can't come down on one side or another of two questions; how many ARRs remain, and is Natlaw one of them?
That Natlaw is now an anti-Registration force seems quite clear, and we do have to neutralise him, one way or another. That would suggest we lynch him.
However, if Natlaw is a PFK, he's a danger to the ARRs as well as the pro-Registration faction, and they might have to take him out their way. On the other hand, he might mistakenly push the ARRs over their wincon threshold. So for them it's a judgement call. Do they ride the lightning and risk Natlaw aiding us, or play it safe and use their kill offing Natlaw.
If there are three ARRs, and Natlaw is not one of them, then lynching him loses the game. If, on the other hand, there are less than three ARRs, then lynching Natlaw is an OK move whether or not Natlaw is one of them.
That would suggest lynching Natlaw is a good move in the majority of cases. I'm hesitating for two reasons; one, if there are three ARRs other than Natlaw, we lose as soon as Natlaw is lynched, adn two, as soon as I vote for Natlaw, the hammer drops. That is, if I vote for Natlaw now I can't change my mind if I discover evidence that this will lose the game for us.
So, Today I am going to refuse to vote right now. I will place a vote between 9:30 and 10:00, which gives me about two hours to read the posts of the other suspects again.
I reserve the right to tie the vote and force an extension of the Day again, if I want another hour or two.

Thoughts for theDay.
PCM. I still think there's a good chance that PCM is an ARR based on Hal's vote back in Day 1. If nothing better comes along I'd be prepared to vote for him.
Nphase. The big pointers against nphase are that she was sure that Peeker was telling the truth about his claim to be third party at the start (if she were an ARR she'd have the advantage of knowing that Peeker wasn't, plus Peeker's claim wasn't the sort someone who started Town would make, unless they'd become not-Town) and that she flat out denied Storyteller would make cover role PMs for the ARRs, when he has done so. Set against that, Hal played in Evil Dead, and we know he was an ARR; he could easily have told nphase that. So I don't find these pointers anywhere good enough for a vote.
Nothing recently has twinged me to any great degree, although I reserve the right to change my mind if I go back and do find something after all.. I'm going to move on. 1¼ hours remain.
BillMc. I got a generally Townie feel overall for Bill. I'm not certain I would have made the same investigative choice as he did Yesterday, but I don't have a brilliant track record as an Investigative type. The choice is arguable. I might have another go at Bill tomorrow. Not that it will help this vote.
Red skeezix. The one thing that bugs me about Red's play is his claimed power use. Assuming for the purposes of discussion that Red is telling the truth about his alignment and powers, why does he choose to make himself an investigator now, and admit it? That's tantamount to hanging a sign around his neck saying “Kill me if you dare, scum.” Who's going to protect him? Of all the claims, that one feels to me as most likely to be a cover.
We currently have seven players.
I know I'm Town, and I cannot see any case for Tom having changed alignment. I'm also not looking at Natlaw right now; I'll look at him later. We know he's not Town, but I would prefer to leave his lynch until Tomorrow, if then.
Of the remaining four, I would rank my suspicions in the following order.
PCM Red Skeezix BillMc Nphase
There's not much separating the former two, and not much between the latter pair either.
Vote: PrecambrianMollusc.
This time, I think we need to lynch PCM, for the reasons I gave on Day 4. Thus I won't be switching votes unless someone can come up with a convincing reason why.

OK, with nphase, natlaw, and MHaye voting PCM.
I guess it's hammer time.
Unvote: Natlaw
Vote: PCM

Perhaps lynching PCM wasn't the best idea; it looks like we can't find him to get it actually done ;D.
