I think this actually was a reference to a Hallowe'en game on this board, but maybe not. Because frankly I think the Meeko & Ed Show in Conspiracy...III? was his worst game. Exhibit A : A game in which someone of my same alignment ""helped"" me with my lynch. Exhibit B: A game in which I single handedly get heat on me for doing things that most people in mafia wouldn't even dare do. Starting at picking a Mime as their role, ending with placing the first vote, on yourself.

And people react like I type a foreign language I was putting something together that cookies could counter. On second thought, nevermind.

And people react like I type a foreign language well the starship idle thoughts mafia boards has been programmed over time to translate various thought patterns and manners of speech. however, there is currently a backlog on new entries. don't know when, if ever, those bastards in IT will get caught up.

OK, I thought I had an idea what SBrOwn's number might be, but after doing a half-hour of work to check it, it doesn't work out. I thought the count might be the difference between her post count and the count of some other player, but there is no player who has 52 posts more or less than her as of Dawn of D3, nor any player who has 49 posts more or less than her as of Dusk of D4. I checked both posts on each Day/Night, and cumulative counts.
Ah, well.

A random thought that probably has nothing to do with anything: 52 is the number of cards in a deck (save the Joker, of course).

Currently, the only things I'm thinking about is either my bunnies (I've added 5 more toNight, so we'll see), or (and thanks to Texcat's post), I just noted... there were only 3 unvotes yesterday.... Which would make sense in regards at least to the Pollux's device has been working.... but I'm not sure about that idea either. What else has only been done 3 times yesterDay- either by me or by everyone? Worse is if its something that goes up and down, and ended up being done only 3 times more (or less) than previously.
I haven't gone back and tried to see how many times I quoted someone, or if i am supposed to mention a specific player or something (like what If I quote scum or something like that?) I've just got a few thoughts in my head that I'm kicking around- but I figured I wouldn't really muck up the boards with it- but man! You should see the spreadsheets and XL files I've already made trying to track this bugger!
Who ever devised this thing... they're def. a mad genius! It's sucking up all of my extra thinking trying to figure it out. But I love puzzles! Thanks for your assist though Chronos

Or a net of 3 times, at least. The fact that it's a negative number leads me to suspect that it's something that can go up or down. This is also consistent with it being attached to two different canisters: Maybe one of them goes off if you reach -100 or something, and the other one goes off if you reach 0.
I'm particularly puzzled by the fact that your device seems so much more complicated than Pollux's. His, it became apparent exactly what changes it, very quickly.

hedge bet time.
i am town. i got to send a message to someone that indicated my alignment to one other person, not batman. but it did not necessarily have to be received by town. based on gad's reply i felt fairly confident that he is town so i kind of lied a touch.
but now that we are getting down to it and confirmed townies are most likely moving up the chopping block list i wanted to get that out there. that way when/if i flip it doesn't 100 percent confirm gad. i still think he is but i don't want a stinking pfk to skate on a technicality. for damn sure he isn't scum or i'd already be toast. and he can't be part of any weird aligned not town/not scum faction or the same would also apply.

I'm curious how in the Hell you thought that would be in any way helpful to Town.

well i kind of wanted to see what the recipient of my message would do. would they store it or what? when gad acted like the red headed step child i was like "bingo". plus i kind of wanted to see what would happen to me if i somewhat confirmed gad. knowing that if whoever reported my townieness was "cross confirmed" by me i kind of posited that no fucking way anyone would take either of us out since that by definition would confirm the other. i kind of wished he would have been like the uber cool townie role but alas i don't think so. but i think it has lasted long enough that he is about as townie as i. and since i only had the one shot it wasn't like it was going to build much of a posse. so i rolled the fucking dice. guess i got lucky.
and chronos i absolutely understand that i will catch shit from you for just this type of behavior. and that's cool. i don't always make perfect bets but i end up the evening ahead more often than not. such is the case here.

I can see peeker's point here. If Gadarene had been Scum, then it's likely that he wouldn't have told us that peeker was Town; he would have told his Scum-buddies and they would have killed him before he had a chance to reveal himself to anyone else.
If Gadarene is 3rd-Party/PFK, the situation gets a bit muddier, since as a solo player he might have sought to gain Town Cred by 'confirming' peeker.
Of course, peeker has now admitted to being a Big Fat Liar (or at the very least a Big Fat Truth-Stretcher), so under the Lynch All Liars rule we should string him up post-haste. Luckily for the Monkey Man, the Lynch All Liars rule is a bunch of hogwash, so I think he's safe for now.

Well, maybe you did, at least. We still have no idea of Gadarene's alignment. I guess you got lucky in that you didn't get killed by the Scum Night 2: If that had happened (which was pretty likely, you know, with you being confirmed by Gadarene as a Townie), and if it so happens that Gadarene is Scum, then you'd have guaranteed that we would lose the game.
I honestly have no clue how to react in this situation: Here we have a player who evidence suggests was assigned to my team, but at the same time he's admitting to trying to sabotage my team's chances of winning. That's not just anti-Town behavior; it's the most blatantly anti-game behavior I can think of. Not that I expect them to listen to me, but the only clean resolution I can see to this is for Scum to Night-kill peeker: I don't know who you are, but I trust that you guys are actually trying to play the game legitimately, and peeker's actions don't fit in that framework.

"Scum wouldn't do that"? Really? If I were Scum and had gotten a message like that, I would have done exactly what Gadarene had, because that's what a Townie would do, and Scum are trying to look like Townies.

Ah yes...the 'Scum would totally do that' argument. Infinitely better that 'Scum wouldn't do that'. My apologies. And since you just admitted that you would do exactly what Gadarene did if you were Scum, are we to take that as a confession?

Thanks for the wine, Peeker. This basically moves Peeker and Gadrene as a unit down to the same general unconfirmed/trust vicinity as Nanook and Mahaloth. Though I admit the scum motivation behind a scummy Peeker trying to come clean eludes me for the moment.

OMGUS/Confirmation bias disclaimer: A scummy Chronos smelling Townie Peeker blood in the water and honing on it is a scum motivation that is not elusive.
