Come on, zuma, if you're going to be on my team, you're going to have to learn how to cheat. That's two for Drain, one from Rugger and one from Santo. I' trust you'll change the vote count to reflect that.

Zuma - bug off. ;D
And just for future reference:
"If you’ve got bats living on your property and you want them out....The use of poison is not recommended as you will soon have tons of dead bats littering your home and property which will not only stink, but invite all sorts of pests and make you miserable until the mess has been cleaned up." vote: kassiaShe seems awfully quiet. Speaking of, as a newbie trying to get a feel for strategy, what are the negatives of lynching the quiet ones? Based on what I've seen following fluiddruid's recruitment game thread, lynching the quiet ones seems like a good idea because if they get recruited, you'll never be able to tell if their posting style changes since you can't get a bead on them anyway. However, even with that argument there was a noticeable minority who thought that was a bad reason to lynch someone. I can see it being bad if you definitely have someone better in mind, but if you're shooting in the dark (pun intended), it seems like a better strategy than pure chance and jumping on false tells. Granted, with this being a closed setup, recruitment isn't an issue, so I can see the case for lynching the quiet ones to be weakened, but is it still good strategy?

No it's not a good strategy.

I've been of the opinion that the loudmouths on day 1 are usually townies, and scum tend to keep quiet on day 1. After day 1, you have to start looking at the quiet ones. They should be called out and voted for as the game goes on...

No it's not a good strategy. But why not? (And I say we debate it now before the game starts, that way we don't clog the game with the debate. We can spend the next 5 days debating it, so once the clock starts ticking, we have already decided the merits of the strategy, rather than wasting game time on it. Also, at this point, roles haven't been assigned, and since town seems to outnumber scum normally, we can all approach this from a town perspective at this point--though, I would be curious as to how this would affect what scum would do as well.)

It has become an assumption in these games that "lynch the lurker" is a bad strategy. I'm not so sure that it is. The scum has been winning a lot lately, and while there are lots of reasons, one of them is that the big talkers tend to die early - they're most likely to be lynched and most likely to be Night killed. So by the end game, you're left with a bunch of players who haven't said much, have no records on which to base analysis, and are most likely to just kind of let the endgame unfold.
Witness how several recent games have essentially died near their ends. Not good.

Dio and Roosh: If you're really planning to leave us in here with no supervision and no game for another four days, it's going to get pretty weird. I dunno, I think you guys are doing just fantastic by yourselves. I like that you've already lynched someone. Or tried to. As a Mod, I'm very happy with the Plot that I/We've come up with. And you guys are just adding to my happiness, as NOW you're acting like you really DO belong in Arkham Asylum. I'm just picturing you all as being cooped up in Arkham, now you get out, and what do you do? You've got one guy complaining about Batman, one complaining abuot the others, one debating the merits of killing one another, and several bloodthirsty lots of you that want to just start KILLING Something regardless of who or what they may be. And then of course the usual amounts of those cracking wise at the whole thing. I'd say the whole lot of you def. are cooped up in Arkham Asylum. So feel free to continue to do what you're doing- the votes don't matter, and if you want to get any annoying discussions outta the way for the newbies- go for that too. It's your Prison now.

...and if you want to get any annoying discussions outta the way for the newbies- go for that too. Ok....town should definitely lie. Nothing but lies about absolutely everything...roles, powers, suspicions, everything. It'll all serve to screw up that damn bat. Hell, they should lie about who they're voting for too...why should the mods get off easy?
