Does anybody have any way of contacting timmyfellinthewell? He still hasn't read his Role PM and hasn't logged into the boards since Saturday. If he doesn't show up soon we're going to have to replace him, if we can find a sub.
I tried emailing him several days again but haven't heard anything back.

My thoughts on some of the early game things. 1. Ascendants seems to describe everyone except for Master of the Deck, who I am guessing is some kind of individual SK type trying to win on his own. 2. Ascendants aren't town, since there is no town. They are just the other players, who may share some win cons and share a "hatred" for the Master of the Deck. I'm guessing some win cons are in common, while some conflict. That's vague, but I don't know what is going on. I guess Ascendants is just the name for the "players" in the game(minus the Master of Deck). 3. How to choose who to lynch. Wow. This is actually a really difficult question, as there are no specific scum, unless you kind of consider the Master of the Deck his own scum. I'm assuming the votes will be spread out since I'm guessing our wincons conflict and we have different goals for what role of players we are trying to kill. With, I'm guessing, a wide variety of roles, I have no idea how to even find anyone suspicious and what would constitute "suspicious" behavior. Very difficult to decide what to do. I would pretty much agree with all of this. I personally would like to focus on lynching the HoCs (house of chains members, for anybody who's not familiar with my acronyms yet). According to my own role PM, all members of the House of Chains must be dead for me to win. That gives me a target to aim at, irrespective of clan loyalties.

What the fark, Peeker? I've got less than a hundred and I've been here since Darth was Batman! How do you reach almost three hundred PMs, let alone over 1200, on a board where the majority of games don't allow for private conversation? That's INSANE.

A couple of people seem to be questioning how to find lynch candidates. Here's my sugestion for a purely princple vote:
I'd be up for lynching the people who posted their complete win conditions, effectively preventing us from using any handshaking method for potentially determining who might be in the House of Chains...since, on must assume that they have a different role PM.
This method was proving effective before complete win conditions that were different from the sample PM were posted.
Now, I'm certain that it was just an oversight on their part and they more than likely share my stated win condition, but they aren't in my clan, and they will need to die eventually.

By the way all. I am a role investigator. Is that a power that would be considered useful? As things stand it won't get used at all.... In a game like this I expect us all to have some sort of power - that has nothing to do with the wincon, the clans you're in or even if you're member of the chain-house-thing. I can see why you want to save yourself - but right now the claim after the fishing just seems a bit...off... somehow...

Ulla - I don't understand what you're saying about powers. You think there are red-herring powers? Or powers that are not useful towards achieving the win condition of the player who possesses them? I have seen no evidence of this and do not think a game that is already this complex would be further complicated by such things. I'm seeing it as we're all potential components of a swiss army knife. Some clans may have diversity of implements, with 4 different powers that compliment each other. Some may opt for redundancy and become specialists or double their potential haul of intelligence. Some clans may form around a strong intellect, putting the knife in the hands of someone very skilled to use whatever components are available within it.

I'm going to throw something out there.
At least some, if not all, of the Asc. seem to have it in their win condition that all members of the HoC have to be dead. From what I can gather, the Asc. seem to be the dominant "faction", if we can keep referring to it as that, numbers-wise.
It seems to me that the HoC would almost certainly have been warned about this - otherwise what's to stop them all declaring themselves at the start of the game, like myself and a few others have already done, and getting voted out one by one? So Luv's breadcrumbing "chains", unless he's being WAY too over-subtle, seems to me to be a very good indication that he's NOT one of the HoC.
Oh, and Special Ed - oh boy. I disagree with your point about early claimers - I think the HoC are less likely to have claimed and especially "quoted" role PMs, for fear of giving themselves away somehow - but that's almost irrelevant right now. Let me quote your last sentence:
"Now, I'm certain that it was just an oversight on their part and they more than likely share my stated win condition, but they aren't in my clan, and they will need to die eventually."
So... if I read that right... you think these people have made an "oversight" and probably share your win condition, but you still want to vote for them? In other words, the fact that you think they share your win condition is secondary to the fact that they're not in your clan right now?
What you've just made clear is that even this early on in the game, with the possibility of I don't know how many clan changes, your alleigance is to your current primary clan (which is three others at most, and may change over the course of the game) and not to finding the HoC members (which is a fixed goal that is, at the very least, likely to be shared by a majority of the people who are currently in the game, and is certainly shared by me.)
In doing so, it seems to me that you've unwittingly invited everyone who's not in your primary clan to vote you out. Since I don't see any likelihood of being able to work with you right now, and your attitude makes me doubt that you share my win condition, I'm happy to oblige. Vote Special Ed (again).

About PMs: There is no limit to how many you can have on Proboards. I have about 1300 right now (that includes outgoing PMs too, since whenever you send one, it saves it in "sent"), but on another board I used to have over 2000. So there is no worries, whatsoever, about running out of PM space.
Anyway, like someone else said above (Peeker?), this whole game is, by and large, going to be all left up to chance. Unless someone or some party has extra info of knowing who is who,...however, the mods have said no person or faction is like this, so seems to me it's a game of shooting in the dark.

And, therefore, at this point is no different than Day One of any other game of Mafia, at least at first, except for the possibility that the members of the House of Chains (and I'm going to slip and type House of Leaves at some point, just watch and see if I don't) have to find each other where the "scum" in a standard game wouldn't. While I do think it's possible that the persons who have posted their roles are lying, I don't think that lynching any of them is necessarily the best option at this point. Moley, if you want that vote for Ed to count, you might want to try again in blue.

Just keeping with the theme of the bad joke.
I find the rumblings of a building schism between 'public' transparency vs discretion quite interesting. The game thread is shaping up to be a Senate where public faces and policies are advocated or attacked, and the back-room conversations are where the wheeling and dealing and (most of) the lying is likely to take place. I think any lies taking place in the Sentate thread are going to be the lies that will be a bitch to confirm or dismiss, while the lies are likely flying much freer and thicker in the back rooms.
