Crossposted at Giraffe BoardsI had an idea for a game where there are no townies, just multiple scum factions trying to come out on top. During the Day they would meet (relatively) peacefully and attempt to agree on a supreme ruler, but at Night the knives would come out. Victory would be score based - the faction that wins the election gets a lot of points, allied factions get a few points, maybe points for kills, for surviving members, other things. Roles would be similar to regular mafia, it's just the objectives and Day mechanics are a little different. Would people be interested in such a game?

The closest I've played to that is Three Kingdoms Mafia, run here. It's in the Past Games section.
It also has the distinction of having the shortest half-life of any game I've ever played in - two Days.
I doubt whether I'll have time pr capability to play in the near future; I had to replace my display with an old CRT, and my eyes are killing me now. Maybe at the end of September, if things settle down and I can afford (or scrounge) a replacement screen.

There were also FCOD's Rock, Paper, Scissors three-clan minis (4 players per faction) played on this board, which were similar in concept.

You're right. It was Blocky, not FCOD.

sachertorte ran Simpletown II on SDMB. It was a 4 faction game.
Though it was unknown to start with. The teams were:
5 Masons No NK, but as everyone pretended to be Town to start with, the Town seemed bigger, and they were immune to lynching. Also, no communication. 6 Cabal: No NK, were immune to Wolf killings. They had Day communication. 4 Wolves: Had a NK (failed agaisnt Cabal) and could communicate at Night 4 Assassins: Had a NK and could communicate at Night
It was one of the most fun games I've played. And the ending was nearly perfect.

I think one thing that might have worked were if town actually knew that the masons were the only townies. But all they knew was that there were a lot of masons.

I remember it dawning on us that there weren't very many Town, despite all of us pretending to be Town. And wasn't there a little bo peep claim in this game?
