I'm overwhelmed by how reasonable hol-mol's MO is, and how people are using it to incriminate him like some... Criminal! It's like... Guilty until proven innocent. It keeps scum from flying under the radar by doing little shitstain posts and not really contributing. Also he didn't backtrack, because /he had already started unvoting people/. If he were backtracking he wouldn't have unvoted them and blah blah blah his intentions are pretty clear. Seriously, there are bigger problems than /hol-mol being aggressive/. Like Patricia's wagon has anyone else noticed how awful that is? It might be awful, but it is really the only thing we have to go on at this moment. Just the hemming and hawing and back peddling is suspicious because patricia doesn't usually do that. Which is why I think she may be scum. I don't think patricia would play the dishonest card very well at all. Yes I know, this makes my vote slightly meta. However I don't have much to go on at this point. Day 1 is really hard, and usually results in a mislynch. Sometimes town does get lucky though.Mrghle. So here is a thing that irks me: I have participated in several day one scum lynches over the past year, and in my experience they happen because town is not sitting on its duff hoping for something to fall in its collective lap. Therefore going on about how day one is hard is a *serious* way to aggravate me. We can still find and lynch scum. ALSO it's nice of you to say that my jokevote hit a bandwagon except it was literally the first damn vote of the game, and one I didn't even attempt to keep. Like if I wanted to keep it there I could have bullshited a reason while people pile on moley for reasons that I don't quite grasp, and Hockey Monkey still hasn't popped up when I asked her what about moley's behavior is so, so suspicious.

Meh vendetta votes and joke votes still fall in the same place for me. In my short mafia experience those joke/vendetta votes bite town in the ass every time. So if I am reading you correctly: My jokey non-serious vote in my first post of the game is clearly me trying to find an easy excuse to put a vote on someone, even though I later unvoted them and made no attempt to push my vote as a legitimate thing so I could keep it there indefinitely. Right. I missed the unvote. However I am tempted to leave that vote on you because, imo, you have been overly aggressive and defensive over one vote.

My emotions are all over the place. For those that are friends on fb, please don't mention this over there, none of my family or real friends even knew I was pregnant. Moley, I will answer your posts when I am not on my iPhone. Way to much to respond to using this keyboard /OOG/ Ginger, I am very sorry for your loss I went through something similar two years ago, and I still remember that pain like it was yesterday. *hugs* If you want to talk about it, I'd be happy to share everything I went through or just listen... I don't like the Idle or Patricia Wagon to be honest. They did both start with merit, but I think like I stated a few pages back, I'm not ready to lynch Patricia until I see how her role unfolds.
I would like to place a vote on Bill, because something about the way he called out Idle isn't sitting well with me. Bill never did come back and tell us what differed from Idle's PM leak. Did he make a mountain out a molehill?
So Vote: Bill
And why not, if making meaningless votes for everyone in their brother is appropriate, lets go:
Vote: Holy Moley
Your ha ha I voted everyone really pinged me, and then your snotty "Well can't anyone see I voted the ENTIRE scum team" just threw it over the edge for me. I'm sure you were joking, but a lot of the time the reality behind the truth really tells you a lot more about what's going on.

Not because I want you to take your vote off me, you can keep it there. Because in thinking this through, the one time I did play scum, and I think you are right, that was the first and only time I played SCUM and I hated it and made a huge mistake that gave me away. It was not my playstyle that labled me SCUM in that game. Now in playing SCUM that one time, a player gave me advice on how to play scum, they said "Be active", " Make cases against people". So in your theory that the lurkers are scum, I don't agree with that. If I was scum be it a seasoned scum player or a noob, I am sure that anyone's advice would be, be active, vote often, try to seem townie... It would also be someone's advice to don't come out with all guns blazing and for me to say would a DEVIL (SCUM) be so bold as to vote everyone and ask what you did. In thinking about it, no. So I unvoted... I may not agree with your method, but I am not sure it makes you a devil...

No, this post also pinged me, but I think my ping was more general about fishing for information, especially for the third clue which admonishes town to keep secrets. What are your thoughts now? Did you forget you were playing this game too? that's good to know. just got a smartphone last night and was considering installing it. Still installing it? Just a quick check in - busy today and again tomorrow - will have more time Fri, Sat, Sun Ah, but which Fri, Sat and Sun? So you're saying that you don't have Cardinal Sin, but nonetheless received the admonition to avoid letting other players find out yours? That's what she claims. At best, I'd consider your play anti-town. What scum motivation do you see? I have to answer this, my set of clues are similar but not the same as Idle's and I was wrong about what I picked up from you about exceptions. I am so mixing up things in this game. I'll ask again, are you saying you have a second set of rules? Or just the first set that Lightfoot quoted earlier in the Day? Just checking in to note that I do in fact have internet here although I'll probably be away a bit simply because I'm so tired (skiing is hard! And my legs hurt!) Andorra? Austria? Patricia was A Thing but I would think that scum would just say "oh yeah I have the same PM as everyone else" rather than take the risk and point out a discrepancy. Maybe, maybe scum would stay out of it, maybe they'd just say oh, I have three hints too, maybe she didn't think I had three hints and wanted to check, or possibly she was just curious to know what the third hint was and asked me to post it. So far so good, but then, after saying she had the same three hints, she said she only had two and no sins. See the problem? ok, so Patricia has pinged me. I don't like all the talk about sins and pms etc. I think we should avoid discussing them at all. It feels like she is fishing. I realise we both voting the same person but this feels all wrong, like you've missed the whole case against patricia but want to jump on the bandwagon. You save yourself a bit later but why not mention these suspicions before being called on it? Vote CrysI hope this all makes some sense...I started with one thought and then jumped around a bit as things came to me. Yes it does except for the bit about devils having access to souls in purgatory - that would be a major departure from christian teaching. OOG/ My play may be on and off for the next couple of weeks. {{{hugs}}}

I hope this all makes some sense...I started with one thought and then jumped around a bit as things came to me. Yes it does except for the bit about devils having access to souls in purgatory - that would be a major departure from christian teaching. I see your point, though I wouldn't discount something from a gameplay perspective just because it's not theologically sound. I based that off Idle's Point 1e: "Christians that die with sin will go to Purgatory until their final fate is determined." It seems to me that if we go into an indeterminate state after death, then there must, from a game balance perspective, be some manner in which our fates might be decided either way. So on the 'bright side' a method by which sins can be expunged so we can go to Heaven, and on the 'dark side' a method by which the Devils can drag us down to Hell. If there were no method by which a sol could go from Purgatory to Hell, then "our fates" would already be decided when we die, and there would be no real use for such a mechanism. On the first option (the 'bright side'), it occurs to me that it may simply be a matter of time. Purgatory (in some beliefs) is a place where souls so to 'work off' sins until one is purified and ready to enter Heaven. Perhaps here, we need to spend a number of Days or Nights in Purgatory equal to the number of sins we have when we die, giving the devils a limited shot at 'claiming' our souls. All of this assumes, of course, that the information Idle gave us is correct.

Ok, back from a long arduous weekend of completely wasted time. (Long story). Sorry for not voting earlier, didn't really expect to be working 14 hours a day the past 3 days. First of all Ginger: I'm sorry to hear about your pregnancy. Me and my girlfriend experience something very similar a little over a year ago, doctors tell me it's a lot more common that you'd think. One of my friends even experienced the same time at almost the same time as us. My girlfriend was very sad initially, but she got over it, and we are due to deliver in April. So try to cheer up, even though it may seem hard. Back to the game: My candidates with reasoning: #33 Suburban Plankton: Can you please explain this post. I think I'm reading it wrong. Are you stating that your wincon is different from mine? Vote: Suburban Plankton #200 Pollux Oil: The initial "To have a vote on the table" pinged me like crazy, but the rest of the top made up for it. No read. #38,123 Lightfoot: Can you please clarify for me. In 38 you state that you only have two win con hints, but you later state that you have three? Which one is it? Heavily accuses Idle Thoughts. Misunderstood townie, or scum having spotted a town power role? #82, 97 Idle Thoughts: Claims all Christians initially have sin. Then claims not all Christians have sin. Is offered to remove sin by day action. I can't say that I like the duality, but with Lightfoot being that aggressive with him, I refuse to believe they are both scum. This leaves me choosing between Lightfoot and Idle. I choose: Vote: Lightfoot #49+ - Patricia: I don't really understand what she is claiming currently 2 or 3 wincons. Her posts have left me somewhat confused. On one hand, I don't like the bandwagon, and I don't see scum slipping up like this, but on the other hand, if I were to vote based solely on her posts, there is little doubt. Vote: Patricia #102 HoleyMoley!: There is something fishy about the way he's chosen to vote. I think it is far too risky a strategy for scum (way too obvious). Gut tells me his is 3rd party going for some shenanigans with the votes. That, and OMGUS Vote: HoleyMoley! #68 Sister Coyote: Not sure if accidental soft claim or fake slip. Not enough to get my vote just yet, but a definitely DO WATCH. #60 Ryjae: Pinged me early on with what appeared to be a fishing attempt for information about sins. However, given Idle's information (assuming now that he's telling the truth) I don't suppose there was any information to be had. Not enough to get a vote from me. The rest of my votes are because of pancakes: Vote: Wombat99 Vote: gnarlycharlie Vote: storyteller0910 Vote: Solaris Vote: texcat Vote: lauriern Vote: BillMc I'm kidding, please don't lynch me over pancakes. All players above have only one post Today.

#33 Suburban Plankton: Can you please explain this post. I think I'm reading it wrong. Are you stating that your wincon is different from mine? Vote: Suburban Plankton This is Post 33: Does anyone have further details about our wincon in their role PMI have received three 'hints', that's it.. But there is no 'you win when all scum are dead' type wincon.. I'm suddenly having flashbacks to Special Ed..."My Win Condition contains seventeen vowels, three capital letters, and eight punctuation marks"....but yeah, that's a bit different, isn't it? NOTE: all numerical values in the preceding message are for illustrative purposes only, and do not necessarily bear any resemblance to any actual PM. I was referring to a game some time ago when the player Special Ed attempted to handshake with other Town players by posting information drawn from the Town PM (which in that game had a section which was identical for all Town players). The veiled reference you made to "receiving hints" brought that to mind; I felt like you were trying to create a similar handshake. As to your question: I don't know if my Wincon is different from yours. I don't believe you've posted your Wincon, so I have nothing to compare it to. But based on what you did post, I believe that they are the same (assuming you aren't lying about your own).

In my first game on this board, "Arkham Knights", somebody posted a list of all the different players and their post counts. Four out of six scum were in the bottom quarter. That seems to ring true for most of the games I've played here (including the ones where I was scum). Heck, the one game where I tried to play super-aggressive scum was "Gastards", and I got lynched on Day 2 in that one. That's mostly general stuff, but my point about the devils staying out of role PM arguments still stands. That's a potential minefield for a scummy player. It's why I'm less suspicious of Idle and Bill.

However, THIS: "You voted for everyone, promising to hold us hostage until we can answer a series of questions that no Townsperson can be expected to know." Wait wait wait wait. How exactly do you know that no townsperson can be expected to know the answers to those questions (which, as I've pointed out about three times now, are all related to game mechanics?) Let's take a look at your questions and see... I don't see how anyone who is unspoiled could answer this question. Certainly no living Townsperson could be expected to have this knowledge... I submit that the only people who can answer your questions about the Devils identities, group mechanics, etc. are the Devils themselves. OK, it's possible that some Town players might have some information here. But I think it would be decidedly anti-Town to reveal that at this stage of the game. Here again, I see no way for non-spoiled people to have any knowledge of recruitment mechanics at this stage of the game. So perhaps my original statement ("a series of questions that no Townsperson can be expected to know") was technically less than perfectly accurate. I should have said that they were "a series of questions, only one of which there might be any reasonable expectation that a Townsperson might have an answer to, and where in that one case the information requested would not be in Town's interest to reveal at this stage of the game". My original point stands until you point out where I made a substantial error. By your own admission you seem to have made a substantial error. And there's a helluva lot of assumptions in your post right there - EXACTLY the kind of assumptions I was attempting to clear away. For example, Idle Thoughts answered at least two questions that you claim would be inaccessible to "unspoiled" people or living townies. Does that not, by your logic, make him scum? That being the case... I can accept your statement as bad wording, not scummy intent. Not quite ready to unvote you (bearing in mind I'm using my votes here as an indication of innocence, not guilt) but I'm not damning you for one sentence either. I will call it a null tell and withdraw my FoS.

No, this post also pinged me, but I think my ping was more general about fishing for information, especially for the third clue which admonishes town to keep secrets. What are your thoughts now? Did you forget you were playing this game too? Still installing it? Ah, but which Fri, Sat and Sun? That's what she claims. What scum motivation do you see? I'll ask again, are you saying you have a second set of rules? Or just the first set that Lightfoot quoted earlier in the Day? Andorra? Austria? Maybe, maybe scum would stay out of it, maybe they'd just say oh, I have three hints too, maybe she didn't think I had three hints and wanted to check, or possibly she was just curious to know what the third hint was and asked me to post it. So far so good, but then, after saying she had the same three hints, she said she only had two and no sins. See the problem? I realise we both voting the same person but this feels all wrong, like you've missed the whole case against patricia but want to jump on the bandwagon. You save yourself a bit later but why not mention these suspicions before being called on it? Vote CrysYes it does except for the bit about devils having access to souls in purgatory - that would be a major departure from christian teaching. OOG/ My play may be on and off for the next couple of weeks. {{{hugs}}} Guiri I probably should have explained my vote better. I just had surgery on my right hand and even though I have been encouraged to use it right away, it hurts. I have also been having issues explaining why I have been doing things because of the pain medication. I don't want to be lynched and if it comes down to it I will claim before the end of day. I have some unique abilities that I would believe to be very beneficial to town. I will say however that I have received the same hints provided by lightfoot and yourself....at least I think it was you that said the 3rd hint had to do with discussing a certain part of your role.

Your ha ha I voted everyone really pinged me, and then your snotty "Well can't anyone see I voted the ENTIRE scum team" just threw it over the edge for me. I'm sure you were joking, but a lot of the time the reality behind the truth really tells you a lot more about what's going on.
What? seriously, what? "The reality behind the truth"? ... I have no idea how to respond to this. I have no idea what you're on about. ...It was a freaking joke! BillMC's statement about Idle's role PM became fairly irrelevant the moment Idle posted the full version of said PM, with mention of "exceptions" to the rules, thereby proving BillMC to be correct. I'm not averse to seeing more information from Bill but only if it won't hurt him, hurt the Christians, or help the devils.

You're not in any more danger of being lynched than patricia or... several others. I'm not sure why you're so nervous at such little pressure. If you're town, don't do what I do and explode and poof under minimal pressure. RESIST THE URGE. Just chill and be analytical about it. (if I'm being stupid someone please give better advice than mine :3) If you're scum, please explode under this minimal pressure like you seem to be starting to.

I wouldn't claim until the last couple hours of the day. I am trying to break myself of the claim early habit lol. My mouth, or keyboard as it were often gets me into the lynching spotlight early on day 1. The pain medication makes it worse cause I get frustrated because no one understands where my brain is going, or I don't understand where my brain is going and jack up my posts so I don't even understand what I am trying to say.
