Nope, I wasn't trying to make anybody jealous of anything. Although I've had similar encounters in the past, they were nowhere near the caliber of the gals in this encounter (although the girls we had group fun with in Brazil were a very close second, there were four guys total, so I can't really compare them). I was just excited, and thought I'd share. mtgman, please don't kill me toNight. story, please don't be a bastard mod toNight. ETA: I just realized I'm the Blade Runner equivalent to Bill Clinton.

Hey, I just noticed that Blade Runner: The Final Cut was released in some theaters. Opens in SF and a few other places this weekend. See if it's playing near you. Worth checking out if it's near you (and you don't have any hot friends coming over).

It's playing tonight in my town actually.
That's kind of cool. I've already seen the final cut on video, but it could be cool to see it on the big screen.
Enjoy, Steven

God help us all, Sach.
On the other issue: I find myself siding with Cookies, but only because I'm feeling like I don't want a precedent where the Gov getting to vote and tiebreak with two votes on one person is a common thing--this will be inordinately powerful for scum if they get one of their own elected, and effectively worthless for town unless we elect an investigator.
On the other other issue: I'm going to be looking through more of the sequence of events with Dio (that looks more and more like people using his absence to turn his "I know who I'm voting for tomorrow" into "I've got a huge important secret and I'm not gonna tell!") toMorrow. While I don't think I'll need a sub out, I'm going to be in game less for the next week or two--I'm starting a new job, and I'm working part time evenings at the new place while helping the old place set up to deal with me being gone.

It's slowly occurring to me that although I don't like cookies plan that effectively keeps me from voting for what is inevitably a run off for two candidates, the motivation is simply a way to lessen the magnitude of the Guv's power. That part of it, I'm ok with.
zeriel, I hope this is what you're agreeing with, do you have any ideas on how that can realistically happen?

Upon reading the link, I need to party with Santo Rugger more often. There's an extra futon in my room, two spare bedrooms (that I'm trying to fill), three couches big enough to sleep on, and two daybeds. Party schedule can be found at www.santaferugby.com, or arranged individually or by the group (preferably*) in advance. * The funny part is, I wasn't even partying. Granted, me and two friends split a fifth of Carrazon tequilla, but that was during the Cowboy-Packer game, and isn't much to speak of. I got a phone call that woke me up at 1 in the morning, after I had already been asleep for a couple hours. I had some crazy fun times when I was single...I don't have a single story that can touch that. Good on ya Rugger. I have four. Two were MMF, one was MFMMFM in Brazil, one was an extremely drunken night my "buddies" have dubbed the "Quarter Ton of Fun" night (the girls must have weighed a combined 500 pounds. But there were two of them, so I consider it okay. But this one was by far the most fun. The best ratio, the highest caliber girls, and the highest number of condoms worn (by a single person).

FWIW, zeriel, I went back and looked at Night One, and the folks talking with Dio about the Magic Bag were NAF (who was first), CatInASuit (who is dead), and Cookies. Roosh actually argued against Dio saying anything at Night and then turned around and used it against him later, which is curious, to say the least.

OK, folks, it's quittin' time here at Storyteller's Employer, Incorporated, and I have a show and cast party tonight. I anticipate getting home by around midnight, so I'll end the Night then if I have all instructions in. If not, I will do it as soon as I wake up (probably around 8:00AM, depending on the whims of my daughter). Any Night actions not already in my inbox when I log-in in the morning will be lost.
To everyone: have a good Friday night! (Santo, not you. You should rest, and reflect. Heh.).

And running off about two hours of sleep all day, I'll be doing plenty of resting. I wasn't as productive as I thought I'd be today, but I'll get my full spectrum of thoughts in (on the game) before I go to bed tonight.

I might as well weigh in on the whole governor debate (a debate, btw, which i find mildly annoying at this stage).
I want and expect the Guv to vote just as I do any other player. I think it's important to have Rugger on record with his votes. Simply having him say "I would vote for xxx" seems kind of empty to me, as it would have no impact on the game, and we wouldn't know if he were telling the truth anyway.
If Cookies is so concerned about the way the guv is voting (and she is someone who is one of two people on board to vote off both townies) then she can build a case against him and we'll kill him. Until then I'm starting to find this debate kind of distracting.

There have been two exchanges on this topic, at the close of both Days and then into the Nights, isolated to a handfull of posts on each Night. And it isn't as if Santo and I are in a one-off voting war going back and forth trying to recruit others to help us lynch the other. What would you like to talk about? This game would dissappear if it turned sideways, it is so emaciated from lack of discourse, so by all means let's hear what you'd like to discuss.

Come again? My Night 1 post was response to his hesitancy to talk at night, and had nothing to do with his "magic bag". Seeing as the whole reason he wasn't sure if he should reveal his Magic Bag was that he wasn't sure if he should give out additional ammo at night, I think your comments were at least somewhat relevant. That having been said, I think what you said is a lot less important than what Roosh did. You were just another voice in the crowd, and a later one at that.

Fair enough. FWIW, I had to go back and figure out what "magic bag" I had missed him referring to, but that wasn't until well into Day 2 that the lightbulb went off as to what everybody was referring to as Dio's "magic bag". I don't refer to his actions as a "magic bag" in my reasons for finding hims supicious (Day 2 # 114), as that is not what I was interpreting it as at the time. *shrug* Day 2 use of "magic bag", I agreed with. I suppose my definition of the term is something that someone is willing tease us with but unwilling to share during the Days. [oog]Just a reminder to everyone that kassia is the pianist and the original composer of the piano solo piece that you can hear in my profile. If you enjoy it, feel free to say so publically. It will bring me much joy to watch her usual musical modesty be so molested by total strangers. And yes, she is going to yell at me for this, but it will be worth it. [/oog]

Man. I have no idea WHY i clicked on that link after the warning you gave (Me? Interested in Santo's sex life?) But I must say... it was an enjoyable read, and as someone else said: That's an EPIC win. I'm quite jealous. And my idea was You vote as normal and such, and should a tie arise, and You're involved as a voting party, why don't you DELEGATE your "governorship" to a neutral party- one that perhaps has a one off vote or such. Basically that person then becomes a "judge" and both parties can present their cases to them, and they then render judgment. It's what I figured a "governor" role should be when I first glanced at the role, and of course if you're not voting for one of the two people in the tie, then YOU act as the judge and you listen to both sides and such. The Downside to this plan: 1. You need someone who's not voting for one of the 2 major people, but is still active enough to be following along. 2. This kinda has be done around 48 hours to 36 hours before lynching. Because you need time to listen to the cases and such. So with the current trend of voting occurring in the last 24 hours of the Day, you kinda can't do this. =( ~~~ A separate idea be what someone else suggested: We as a Town gave Gov. Rugger this power. We have to live with the fact that he'll have a "known" power, the ability to break ties into HIS favor. And then we treat him as we would any other "power role" player that we don't know the role of. Basically if the dude starts abusing his Powers of tie breaking, we'll at least see him do so, and we can call him out and lynch him for it. But if he's fair about it, then it's just something we have to factor in when voting. Like you actually fear his abilities so much, then just make sure you're vocal enough to convince some of the one-off voters to cancel out the Governor's ability to break ties. Simply Put: just make sure the Ties don't happen. If the ties DO happen, then we go back and look HOW did the tie happen, who made it happen, and why did they make the tie happen. Then you'll have the data of: A) The Tieing Voter Data AND B)What did the Governor do in the result of the Tie, and What happened then? I view actually my second idea as the one I'm currently more in favor of. I understand that As Governor, Rugger's got more leverage than the Avg. Voter. So i'm willing to put up with that for a while, and see how he uses said powers. If he starts killing off townies, and ties seem to miraculously keep happening at the last min, I'll go back and start looking AT why the ties occurred, who made the ties, and the Governor's Scumminess then. But until then, I'm gonna let it be water under the bridge. Basically, right now I see it as "this is something bad that COULD happen! What should we do about it?" I'm rather inclined just to wait it out and see DOES this ever happen? Because currently the pattern is every time a "tie" has occurred, someone's come along and broken said tie. So I don't really understand why we need to remove The Governor's Vote. Just treat the Governor as a KNOWN role power, and understand that at least we know the Governor's Power, if not his alignment. I mean, why drink Wine if the scenario never comes up? I'll save the WIFOMing till then.

Santo: Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a way to minimize governor power while still giving the governor a worthwhile voice, because I don't want a scum governor to be able to set and then break ties in the late game. That'd effectively give the scum an additional vote period if enough of them survive to help manipulate things, and if you set a precedent that the governor is not only allowed but expected to be both in a tie and the tiebreaker, it's a lot harder to lynch it when it's more suspicious--especially if you die and come up town.
For now, it seems like the best idea to me if you withhold/withdraw your vote if voting would set up a tie in the middle to late Day. By all means, indicate which way you will decide if there IS a tie, I just find it worrisome for town that a single player could possibly have the power to make a 5-6 vote turn into a 7-6 vote single-handedly. It's not a smear on you personally, since we have no information on you except that the night killer(s) are letting you live.
I was purposefully avoiding the Night One discussion of Dio, because at the time there was no consensus as to whether we should strategize at night or not. NAF let it drop during the day, pretty much, and Cookies stuck to her guns after the discussion and Dio's longer-term absence.

If it makes you feel any better, story, when kassia and I went to see Lewis Black perform live in Atlanta, it was on the Fall daylight savings change, and he had inadvertantly written a joke specifically about the time changing in the wrong direction, but didn't realize it until he had delivered it live to us, and everyone just sat there kinda perplexed. His spontaneous realization and reaction to making the mistake was comedy gold, however. It was simply walking away from the crowd yelling "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" into the mic, but it was hillarious.

Ya know... it really warms my heart when I scroll up and down these threads and I see that everyone's karma rating ends in either a 3 or a 7.... It just feels... right. And to continue on the topic of random late night musings.... Storyteller I think you're a smart guy too. I have no idea what you look like nor any desire to know actually. Because right now, when I think of the username "storyteller" i picture a dude in a brown trench coat wearing one of those detective fedora hats next to a street light. And there's fog. There's ALWAYS Fog coming somewhere in the scene. Like either the stream from the man hole covers, or out of the sides of the drain, or from the fog machine set up in the alley conveniently behind you. Which, I must admit, is a pretty fucking cool image to have come to mind when I picture someone. So please don't ruin that for me. When I think of Cookies, now I'm currently associating her with her Avatar. Cigarette smoke. But i dislike smokers. But still. I like Fog. :sigh: i should go to bed. Gotta get up at 8am and go to class all day until about 6pm tomorrow. Oh well. I like reading the Straight Dope. Quite a bit. And with that. Goodnight.

Morning, y'all. I can't end the Night yet, which is a damn shame because I expect toMorrow to be most interesting. However, a particular player with a Night action has not yet submitted the action yet. Because the action is mandatory, I can't just skip it as I would an optional Night action. I'll extend the Night through noon EST today, and if I haven't heard from this particular player, then random.org will have to come into play.
