Through the deserted streets of New Canaan, the killer hunted and was hunted. Behind the darkness of a few scattered windows, the innocent tossed in uneasy sleep, but the killer's prey was awake yet still.
The killer's countenance was cold and grim, but his mind was a seething pit of vipers, alive with dark and bloody imaginings and impulses. He felt a wild rush of anticipation. It hadn't been easy. It had driven him nearly to a frenzy, sitting in the cramped quarters of the Town Hall, socializing with the abominations and with those who had profited from the abominations' labor. He had put paid to some of them himself - the fates of the thrice-damned scientist and the skin job called "Tragic" gave him special satisfaction - and let the madness of New Canaan finish the rest. And Deckard? Well, they had sent him to assist the universe-beloved skin job, and he had assisted him most effectively. As far as anyone needed to know, anyway.
But there was one more to finish. The Nexus-9. The rest of them would never catch it on their own, but he had found it. Once the killer had granted to the Nexus-9 its well-deserved rest, his work in New Canaan would be finished. He'd seen a small transport in the dock area, and figured he'd hop aboard it the minute his work was done. Maybe he'd leave a surprise in the Town Hall for the stragglers - something involving explosives or neurotoxins.
It was 3:15AM when he found the Nexus-9. It was waiting for the killer in the middle of the town common, standing alone. The two foes regarded one another. And then, drawn together by common instinct, they began to walk toward one another. Their eyes locked, and there was an unspoken agreement; they would settle this without weapons, once and for all. Smoothly they closed the gap, neither in a particular hurry.
And then the killer drew his gun and fired three shots directly into the chest of the Nexus-9. He never had been one for unspoken agreements.
The killer watched the Nexus-9 lie silent and still for a few moments, and then moved quickly toward the docking area and his transport to freedom. It was dark in the docking area. The killer was distracted and excited, and so never saw the shadow of the Nexus-9 as it approached from behind - well, never saw it while his head was still attached to his body, anyway.
The Nexus-9 stared down at the prone form on the dock. Dispassionately it pried the bullets from its chest, tossed them into a nearby waste incinerator, and followed with its clothes. And then it returned to its temporary home.
In the morning would come Judgment Day.
Parzival, A/K/A Lee Hallen, The Rogue Blade Runner (A Serial Killer), missed it by that much

Day Nine begins here. It will end, unless it ends early by any means, on Friday, January 18 at 4:30PM EST. Good luck!

Well, my decision has mostly been made.
But still, I'd like to to hear from my two fellow co-players, if they have anything to add before I start writing my epic finale (yeah, right).
Mostly, do you have anything to add in your defense/in the other players detriment?
I'll probably make my vote around tomorrow evening, possibly even night. I hope to hear from you both, though!

I don't really have anything else to add. Zuma's been pretty quiet the whole game, so there isn't anything in particular that I can point to. His posts--as well as mine--are all there for you to read and come to your own conclusion.

So... like I promised, I have my decision ready. First: I don't want to end this Day as soon as I vote, so I'll be granting a preemptive Stay of Execution.
And now, the "Evidence" (scant as it is).
1. On Day 4:
... on reread... well... "When I was scum"? At a moment where Roosh was definitely not seen as a scum? (kind of reads like "perfect knowledge", don't it?)
2. (answering a question to episodeofblonde about drainbead) In general, his back and forth with drainbead reads like scum trying to establish some kind of cover (for one of them, or maybe both?). This specific post actually contradicts his previous posts against her. 3. His voting pattern points seems far more... scummy... than that of Death by Irony
Death by Irony's participation overall seems far more "un-scummy" to me and doesn't really ring any alarms.
So, like I said, the evidence... she is scant.
I'll vote for zuma v. 2.0, nonetheless. He might change my mind yet... but I doubt it.

VOTE COUNT
zuma v. 2.0 (2) - Death by Irony, diggitcamara Death by Irony (1) - zuma v. 2.0
Three votes have been cast, with a majority vote on zuma v. 2.0. diggit has granted a stay of execution, which will last for 18 hours from the time it was issued; it will expire, and the Day will end, at 4:00PM EST tomorrow (basically, the time it was going to end anyway).

Oooh fun. We're going to lose, diggit. While my participatation the last few weeks hasn't been the best, I've been pretty busy at work which was made worse by getting stuck in 2 mafia games. I was actually hoping I'd get killed off by scum. Which is precisely the reason DBI kept me around I guess. Although DBI hasn't exactly been the loudest around here, either.
DBI Day 2:
2.36: DBI FOSs Captain Klutz for speculating why Kat was killed 2.83: DBI adds:
She's quick on the FOS against a townie, but needs to amend her FOS for scumbuddy Roosh later on for the same offense. Of course she wasn't looking for scumbuddy scum tells at the beginning of day 2.
2.121:
Pleonast at this point has pinged my scumdar and many others' for what many of us thought were valid reasons. None of the scum were in danger at this point. Diomedes, who she ultimately votes for was the other person getting heat that day.
3.184: This is the day Pleonast went down, for what I at the time thought were good reasons. I think I may have been the first to vote for him this day. DBI waits until the end of the day, with just hours remaining, and Pleo a forgone conclusion, to get her Roosh vote in and on record
6.38:
Yeah, of course you are. roosh, episodeofblonde, and dbi are early vote-getters today. So dbi actually gets a relatively early vote in this day.
6.103: It's not looking good for episodeofblonde at this point, and catinasuit gains no traction. She can't start lobbying for the #2 vote-getter today. Roosh, she throws a vote on me, latching on to the "shitty doc" comment the scum are so fond of hauling out

7.43: Haha. Blatant fishing for information which is really important to DBI. She really needs that exact number. Now which side is going to be asking this question? Speaking about her game she's hosting: I'm sure her nights were very busy at this point

I was actually hoping I'd get killed off by scum. Which is precisely the reason DBI kept me around I guess. Although DBI hasn't exactly been the loudest around here, either. Let's face it, we three haven't been the loudest participants during this game. But she has just about two times the posts you and I, respectively, had. I read that differently. See, the thing I noticed about you as well, was your interaction with known scum. She may have interacted both with Roosh and drainbead a couple of times but you actually had extensive opinions about those two, and about episodeofblonde. (in less than half her posts, no less. And that's if I count your most participative Day (Day 1) where you actually had a different role) And there's your comment about Roosh (Day Four) at a time where he wasn't really on most people's scum radar. Maybe. But then again, both on Day 2 and on Day 1 she was on lynching wagons of vanilla town. And particularly on Day 2 there was a strong pile-on which, if she's scum, would have included 4 scum voters among the lynchers. And if your argument were interesting by itself, it's discounted by the fact that on the very next Day (4) you voted for Roosh when zeriel was lynched... replicating DBI's pattern and rendering it useless. And your explanation for your vote? After calling him "rash scum" (paraphrased), on the next Day you explain your vote away as a "rash vote" ? Yeah. But a.) you did make that comment, and b.) you didn't respond quickly to Captain Klutz when he brought it up. He (not scum) mentioned it, and you ignored the question. It wasn't until at least a Day later, when he asked you again, that you responded. Dunno. Your arguments don't seem convincing to me.

Speaking about her game she's hosting: I'm sure her nights were very busy at this point Sorry, but I don't buy that "fishing" part. That question had been raised before (IIRC) in an attempt by sinjin to discredit CatInASuit. And about that hosting part... c'mon. That's not only metagaming but inaccurate metagaming as well. You and her had similar Night-time posting habits (I checked).

I don't agree with the conclusions that you've drawn, but I have definite issue with this particular quote:
D6.103 was a post by Kat v.2, not me.

Please don't hate me, y'all.
But - I have to leave work, right now this minute, and I don't have time to post the end of the Day. Voting is over, but I'm afraid you're all going to have to wait until later tonight for the grand finale.
Sorry!
