When is the last time any of you went and read through some of the old games?
I have been working on the wiki and it got me reading the original werewolf game and a good bit of M2, and it was really interesting to see those games now. The nostalgia factor was high for me, especially with M2, but there were also all sorts of little things that I had forgotten that made me smile. Just the lists of players who used to be regulars but now aren't. Suburban Plankton, Dnooman, nesta, many of them stuck around for a while, but then drifted away.
Have any of you looked back at those games recently? And if you weren't around back then, have you read them?

I read a few of them when Idle set up the Facebook group. The first one I read was Asylum Lane as he thought it'd give me a good idea of what to expect when we started playing on FB. I've read Firefly too and followed along during the Gastard game. And I've been pretty much hooked ever since. Actually, I think I'll go read another one now

The only game I've ever watched/read all the way through (that I didn't play in) was YSI on the SDMB. That was what got me hooked. I've been in a game ever since my first, Fluiddruid's recruitment game, also on the SDMB. The current game is my third on this site, sixth game total (not including the current mini-mafia).

YSI is what got you? I am so proud! If you haven't read the really old games (all the way back at the start of '07!) check them out. Werewolf in particular is interesting now. Cookies, kat, Rysto and OAOW are the only people from that original group who still play. Mad hung out for a while but got too busy recently. Plankton and sturmhauke and JSexton all hung out for a bit too, but most of that game is gone. It was a really interesting game though. I remember being totally hooked on it at the time and spending hours of my own time doing post analysis trying to track down who was who, particularly who the last mason was after the claim. Check out the wiki, it has a link to the original game. wiki.flyingcowofdoom.com/mafiaWiki/Werewolf

I may not have played in the first game, but I did follow it closely.
We've come so far since then!

When I'm actually playing, I rarely go back to previous Days, unless I'm looking for a specific quote. It's really hard for me to focus for that long, and I've always had a problem when reading through threads I wasn't active in of just reading, not really noticing who the posters were. I still want to read Hispanola one of these days, but I just haven't got around to it. Being honest with myself, I probably never will, but it's fun to think about doing, at least!

Really? YSI is what got you? I am so proud! This is true for me too, incidentally. Well, that and Pleo's Conspiracy. Completely different setups, both great reads. I just waited on the recruitment game because I thought it was too complicated. Also, as I was developing my current (in development) game, I read Arkham Nights for research purposes. I only got to day six. Man, was that long.

I tried to join M1 and M2 but something always seemed to stop me from joining. I was actually on the subs list for M2 and NEXT UP to join in but unfortunately someone PMed NAF before I could (it was cowgirl--and turns out she was put in the role of Guardian Angel). So I always think now "That should have been me!" Hahaha. NAF probably remembers this because it was the second time he had to tell me I didn't make it into that game. The first was when I was the first or second person to sign UP for M2 AFTER they hit the limit. The second was the above story. I still remember NAF sending me a PM back saying "cowgirl got it first, I'm sorry. I feel bad!"
