Is there a way to search on a specific poster but exclude certain threads?
It seems that if you use their name as a search term it doesn't seem to come back with all their posts (or maybe it does and I'm reading the results wrong).
What I was trying to do was find all the rule clarifications Malacandra posted, but then I noticed the 'Skeleton Island' thread in his recent posts list.

Good news. Posts won't show up anymore that are made in S.I. So you can search dead and departed players or even Mal's posts without fearing or worrying you might accidently see something in that forum.
The only way to include that forum's posts in any search you do, now, is if you know the password, which only dead people will know from here on.

I've been having problems over the last 12 hours or so-- when I try to load up page 3 or 4 of toDay's thread my browser crashes (FF) about 3 times of 4-- the text starts to come up and then when images start to load it's gone. It doesn't look like anyone's pulled out a new fancy avatar-- is one of the ads wacky? (when it's the onstar ad I'm ok, I think. . .) Is this happening to anyone else? I've turned off Flash Blocker and it's still happening. Any thoughts, Idle? (Oh, sorry about the, you know, death and all that. Terrible thing. . . Some tea?)

Ok, this sucks. It's happening to me all over intermittently-- I think it's one of the banner ads. Is this not happening to anyone else?

I am not having any problems. Can't speak for everyone else though.

Yeah, me either. Although sometimes banners can cause computers to do odd things. Happens to mine when I'm on MySpace a lot. Man the weird ones they have there. Slows it down, freezes it, causes the page to refresh. All sorts of things.

It's been a while since I used myspace, but firefox used to have an extension that would take all of the special formating off of myspace pages. Everything would look like "classic" myspace.
I loved it.

Don't know if this would ever help anyone or be of any use to anyone, but just to let you all know, on the main index of forums--down at the bottom where it shows who's online?--the names go from left to right in order of "last active". This means the user that's the farthest left will have been the one who clicked on a page or refreshed a page or changed screens the most recent (and will thus almost always be yourself). The one at the farthest right will be the one that's just been sitting there for awhile staring at the same screen.
It updates every second, every time someone changes a screen on here (for example, if they go to a new page, or refresh something, or click back to the forum, or click to the index, or read a PM, or submit a reply, etc etc--anything that causes a change in what page they're on).
So there you have it. I've known this for awhile now and use it to wager if I know someone is active currently. For example, if there's about nine players on and NAF is right after me (keep in mind, I'd probably be the one to the farthest left, unless someone simultaniously clicked on something new the same time I went to the index), yet hockeymonkey is the last of nine...I'd know that NAF has been active on here in the last few minutes, if not seconds..whereas hockey might be ready to drop off the list of "who's online" (which happens when someone doesn't change a page for fifteen minutes). However if I refreshed and suddenly hocky's name is moved up and now between mine and NAFs, I'd know that she, in the last few seconds, changed screens somehow.
Does all that make sense?
Anyway, use that as you will, if you want. I find it useful sometimes. At least it's something interesting that has a deeper explanation behind that most don't know at first.

Posted in here because I'm not going to post in a Day game thread being dead.
NAF, you're wondering what happens at 300...but as per most boards, they don't come that quickly. The first few do..but then they spread out to longer milestones like 500 and 1,000 and 5,000 posts.
So just letting you know that 300 (currently) is not the next milestone. I won't reveal what is, though, to keep Mal surprises secret..and heck, he may even choose to change things around so 300 is the next one. It's up to him.
But just don't want you to go all out and out nuts in posting just to get up to 300 and then be disappointed when you see nothings changed. ;D As amusing as that would be to watch, I just don't want you to feel you've wasted your time posting today when/if you could have been doing other things.
