...or, in a bit more helpful way
[ url =http://psychopathgame.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=asylumlane&action=display&thread=1185907176&page=1#1185907176] Here you'd put your period [ / url ]
(remove the spaces, of course). You'll have to keep the spaces in front and at the end of the color text, though.

So is it the spaces before and after the inner link text that makes it not put the %20 or whatever at the end? Let's try it. Nope, didn't work. Anyone know why the %207 showed up at the end of that link, making it link to the top of the page?

Anyone know why the %207 showed up at the end of that link, making it link to the top of the page? Actually, your link for some reason seems to insert a space at the end of your hyperlink. Let's see: You were trying to link to psychopathgame.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=asylumlane&action=display&thread=1185314220&page=10#1185562887and the post came out psychopathgame.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=asylumlane&action=display&thread=1185314220&page=10#118556288 7 (the difference being, of course, the [space] 7 at the end of the link. which get translated to %207--where %20 means "space" in hyperlink lingo and 7 means... 7) After a bit of experimenting, the diagnosis is this: apparently this board tries to break up your link as soon as it has a certain number of characters. My previous examples were exactly one character shorter than yours (you linked to page 10, I linked to page 1). And therefore, the editor inserts a space at the end of the hyperlink to be able to break it up into two lines... screwing up your original hyperlink. Lesson learned: Don't try to link to posts after they break the 10 pages barrier!

Let's see: Link to page 7. Still have a space at the end. Now let's try one On Page 1. Still the space. How 'bout this?Hey, that worked. I removed the http:// from the URL. Maybe that was enough to get the size down. ETA: Test the Page 10 link. And that worked to. It's not optimal, but at least it's a workaround. Get the URL from the link to post link and then cut off the http://.

On to my next question: Why doesn't the "quote" option show up in previous days. I think it might be because they are locked, but it's a pain not to have that available. The multi-quote thing isn't working for me across threads. And for Idle, I'm using IE 7 under Vista if that makes any difference.
Idle, is there a way to turn on the quote option in locked threads? If not, could you unlock the threads after a little bit so it will work?

Okay, well I'll unlock those threads and see if that makes any difference.
